Academic Oligarchy: Majority of Science Publishing is Controlled by Just Six Companies

The flow of science in this modern age is largely controlled by just six corporate publishing groups, which by calculated design have been gobbling up the journal market since at least the 1970s. And a new study out of Canada reveals that this mass consolidation of publishing power is, to a large extent, skewing what passes as scientific progress.

Wolfgang Halbig and Sandy Hook: Trick or Treason?

Among the most curious aspects of the Sandy Hook event (which have puzzled many students)include the presence of a sign saying, "Everyone must check in!", Port-a-Potties, boxes of bottled water and pizza cartons in the Firehouse, name tags on lanyards and parents cheerfully bringing their children to the scene of (what was alleged to be) a child-shooting massacre. Wolfgang and his attorney were able to extract from Newtown First Selectman (which is an office), Patricia Llorda, that the sign had been placed there, not by the city, but by Homeland Security, which drew audible gasps from those who were present:

All of this, of course, is consistent with the FEMA manual for the event, which declares there will be a rehearsal on 13 December 2012, where the event will "go live" on 14 December, where it states (in the manual) that everyone must check in and that refreshments and restrooms will be provided. The reason Wolfgang has been unable to obtain information as innocuous as who had provided the Port-a-Potties is because it would have revealed that they were delivered on 13 December, the day before the alleged shooting, which would have thereby exposed the entire hoax. The FOIA hearings were therefore getting too close to the truth and had to be subverted, which was done by the attorney, Monte Frank, elected to Head the Connecticut Bar, which appears to be his reward for managing the cover-up:

8TH GRADE TEST FROM 1912 SHOWS HOW FAR AMERICAN EDUCATION HAS BEEN DUMBED DOWN; CAN YOU TAKE IT?

A Kentucky 8th grade exam from 1912 was donated to the Bullitt County history museum. The questions feature the fundamental foundation of education that we seem to have lost due to the dumbing down of the American education system. Now with the common core epidemic we can see our youth transformed by a cookie cut education system and a near total loss of critical and independent thinking. If you can not read the fine print or zoom in, then here are some examples of 8th grade level testing in 1912.

WAKE UP HOMESCHOOLERS: THEY'RE COMING FOR YOUR CHILDREN !!!

This is a call for ALL homeschoolers to pick up the phone IMMEDIATELY and call their U.S. Senators and DEMAND that they vote NO on Senator Lamar Alexander's Every Child Achieves Act of 2015 (S.1177) which would reauthorize the Bush-era No Child Left Behind law until 2021. Phone number to call is: 202-224-3121.

Homeschooled children are NOT being excluded from the INTERNATIONAL United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)-DICTATED GLOBAL WORKFORCE TRAINING AND VALUES AND ACADEMICS DESTROYING CURRICULUM.

In fact, passage of Republican Rep. John Kline's HR5 July 8, 2015 by a 5-vote margin (!) will allow for all the tax-funded school choice/charter schools, with unelected boards, requirements, necessary to implement this evil unconstitutional/international/totalitarian workforce training agenda across the board, around the world. (HR-5 is basically a copy-cat version of Sen. Alexander's S1177 which will be voted on early next week.)

6 Insane Educational Claims Published In Real Textbooks

Art textbooks are some of the most valued educational tools for young students, since all those images of old paintings and sculptures often provide kids with their first glimpse of dongs, boobies, or even the enigmatic mons pubis. So imagine the disappointment some innocent, virginal college freshmen in Canada felt upon opening a $180 (Canadian) art textbook to find that it looked like an incomplete sticker album:

Webmaster's Commentary:

U.S. Government Would Have to Spend Less to Make Public College Tuition-Free Than it Spends On Financial Aid

Hard to believe, but apparently it would cost “only” about $62 billion to make public college tuition free, versus the $69 billion or so that the US Government spends on financial aid and other college programs.

School Threatens Parents That Pick Their Kids Up Late

Do you have kids? Do you have a job that you have to commute to? More importantly, do you have to drop your kids off at school every morning? I’m sure plenty of you are raising your hands right now. We all have busy schedules, and many of you face a daily race against time to get your kids to school, and to pick them up at the end of the day; and sometimes you’re either late or early. But how would you feel if a school threatened to take your kids away for being late?

FBI raids Michigan Jewish college suspected of defrauding federal government

Federal agents raided the offices of a Jewish college that has prospered from millions of dollars in federal aid even though almost all its students live in Israel and hardly any of them graduate.

Federal officials declined to comment on the reason for the July 7 raid at Michigan Jewish Institute, in a suburb of Detroit.

But in 2012, the Forward showed how MJI’s assets soared as the college enrolled thousands of students in distance and online learning courses.

During a five-year period, MJI’s students claimed $25 million under the Federal Pell Grant Program, which is designed for the neediest American students.

Almost all those students took degree courses in Judaic studies at yeshivas and seminaries in Israel that they never completed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wonder if Hillary still thinks BDS is the big problem with colleges!

On a side note, the failure of these students to complete their courses underlines a common human trait; people do not respect or value things which they get for free. The more the American taxpayer showers all over Israel, the more disdainful of Americans' "generosity" Israel becomes!

Seattle 6th Graders Get Birth Control Implants Without Parental Consent

You would think that parents would have the final say over their children’s health, but in America, that’s simply not the case anymore. The government has its own agenda for your kids, and if you don’t like it, tough. They’re not really your kids anymore. They belong to the state.

Especially if you live in Seattle, Washington. CNS news recently reported that 13 school clinics in Seattle offer free birth control implants to their students, such as IUDs. What’s more alarming though, is the fact that these implants can be given without informing the parents of any child who is in at least 6th grade.

Earlier this month, LifeNews.com reported on a high school in Seattle, Washington that is now implanting intrauterine devices (IUD), as well as other forms of birth control and doing so without parental knowledge or permission.

The IUD is known as a long acting reversible contraception, and may even act as an abortifacient. So, a young teen in Seattle can’t get a coke at her high school, but she can have a device implanted into her uterus, which can unknowingly kill her unborn child immediately after conception.

For students at for-profit colleges, wrong mix of loans can be toxic

Kimberly Garrison has been struggling with her student loans for a full decade. Unable to land a job with her computer networking associate’s degree, the Homestead woman missed payments, which led to her wages being garnished — about $700 per month. When Garrison received an inheritance after the death of her grandmother, she put the full $10,000 toward her loan debt, she says, in hopes of getting it under control.

Still, the $35,168 she borrowed from 2003 to 2005 to attend the Miami campus of ITT Tech has grown to $62,030.

Police files on child sex abuse at Gordonstoun school have vanished

Official files on police investigations of child abuse at Gordonstoun, the school in the Scottish Highlands that educated the Queen’s sons and Prince Philip, appear to have gone missing or been destroyed.

In a case investigated by the Observer, a teacher named Derek Jones seriously sexually assaulted a number of children attending the junior school around 1990. He was twice questioned by police in the following years after the children told their parents what had happened. Files were forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal, Scotland’s prosecution service, but it was decided not to prosecute. The files would normally be retained, but Scotland’s Crown Office says they now cannot be found.

The Washington Post has published a guest article by a California teacher arguing that American high school students shouldn’t read Shakespeare because he’s a dead, white man. POLICE SHOOT MIDDLE SCHOOL KIDS DURING 'TEMS' ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILLS WITH EMS AND FIREFIGHTERS

The Explorers program, a coeducational affiliate of the Boy Scouts of America that began 60 years ago, is training thousands of young people in skills used to confront terrorism, illegal immigration and escalating border violence — an intense ratcheting up of one of the group’s longtime missions to prepare youths for more traditional jobs as police officers and firefighters. (Germany had the Hitler Youth program, which bears a striking resemblance to the "explorer program")

The Explorer training, which leaders say is not intended to be applied outside the simulated Explorer setting, can involve chasing down illegal border crossers as well as more dangerous situations that include facing down terrorists and taking out “active shooters.” In a simulation here of a raid on marijuana field, several Explorers were instructed on how to quiet an obstreperous lookout.

School to Jail Pipeline for Disabled Kids?

Albuquerque police jailed a middle school special ed student twice because they thought it better to jail disabled kids to than leave them in school, the teenager claims in court.
Sidney Summers, now 18, sued the Albuquerque Police Department and Sgt. Michael Archibeque in Bernalillo County Court, citing two incidents from 2009, when Summers was 12 years old.
Summers claims his arrests and jailings exemplified a culture of discrimination against special education students under Archibeque, who supervised Albuquerque's school resource officers at the time. Archibeque is the only individual defendant.
In his June 10 lawsuit, Summers says he was arrested for childhood temper outbursts in which no one was injured.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is so wrong, on so many levels, that I hardly know where to start.

I have personally worked with special needs kids at a private facility, and know firsthand that nothing reaches these children like love, kindness, and structure. Jailing special needs kids sends absolutely the wrong message, as does not dealing with kids who torment kids like this, and think it is perfectly fine.

This is a really lousy policy on the part of the Albuquerque police, and needs to be changed, STAT!!

Judge orders University of Illinois to release Steven Salaita emails

Illinois Circuit Judge Thomas Difanis today ordered the University of Illinois to release thousands of pages of emails that may cast light on the state institution’s decision to fire Steven Salaita last August.

The decision in the Champaign County Court was a big victory for Salaita, who brought a lawsuit against the university under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
