Rand Paul Opposes Iran Deal

In a brief statement posted on his Facebook page, “libertarian-ish” GOP presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) has come out against the recently signed accord between the P5+1 and Iran, which would restrict Iran’s nuclear program to peaceful uses of nuclear power. Here is his statement in full:

“The proposed agreement with Iran is unacceptable for the following reasons:

“1) Sanctions relief precedes evidence of compliance, 2) Iran is left with significant nuclear capacity, 3) it lifts the ban on selling advanced weapons to Iran

“I will, therefore, vote against the agreement.

“While I continue to believe that negotiations are preferable to war, I would prefer to keep the interim agreement in place instead of accepting a bad deal.”

'Iran have been given a licence to kill': Netanyahu blasts 'historic mistake' of agreeing Tehran nuclear deal as Israeli ministers condemn the 'surrender by the West to the axis of evil'

Israel today launched a blistering attack on Western powers for agreeing a controversial atomic deal with Iran, warning that it gave Tehran 'a sure path to nuclear weapons'.

Under the accord, sanctions imposed by the United States, European Union and United Nations will be lifted in return for Iran agreeing long-term curbs on a nuclear programme that the West has suspected was aimed at creating an atomic bomb.

The European Union called it a 'sign of hope for the entire world', while President Barack Obama insisted the deal meant 'every pathway to a nuclear weapon is cut off'.

But this was angrily rejected by Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu branding the deal 'a bad mistake of historic proportions'.

AIPAC is an unregistered foreign agent. It operates illegally and destructively. It deplores peace. It supports wars of aggression and occupation harshness.

MONSTERS LIVE AMONG US

And now Israel wants to bomb more nuclear facilities in Iran or infect it with a computer virus to cause a melt-down, so that what happened by accident at Three-Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima, will be done deliberately to the people of Iran, who have not invaded or threatened anyone.

There are indeed monsters living among us.

And we know them by their deeds.

'Stunning historical mistake': Netanyahu says Israel is not bound by Iran nuclear deal

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel is not bound by the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, adding that it will always defend itself against Tehran, which “continues to seek its destruction.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Netanyahu has a real problem. With the P5+1 deal completed, world attention is going to go back to Israel's reign of destruction on Gaza a year ago, and without the distraction of trying to ban Iran's imaginary nuclear weapons, world opinion will turn to banning Israel's very real nuclear weapons!

Iran nuclear deal: Israel fumes at 'West's surrender to the axis of evil'

Israeli officials have reacted with fury at the announcement of a historic nuclear deal between Iran and six major world powers.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the breakthrough in negotiations, which will curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for relief from crippling international sanctions, "a bad mistake of historic proportions".

"Iran is going to receive a sure path to nuclear weapons. Many of the restrictions that were supposed to prevent it from getting there will be lifted," Netanyahu said on Tueesday (14 July). "Iran will get a jackpot, a cash bonanza of hundreds of billions of dollars, which will enable it to continue to pursue its aggression and terror in the region and in the world."

In an attempt to speak directly to the Iranian public to muster sentiment against the P5+1 talks between world leaders and Iran set to expire tonight, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a Twitter account in Farsi. Iran deal: Bad news for ISIS & JSOP?

They’re calling it a “win-win.” But the Iran nuclear deal could be a “lose-lose” for two leading Middle Eastern terrorist organizations: Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Jewish State in Occupied Palestine (JSOP).

Will terrorist leaders “Bibi” Netanyahu and “Caliph” al-Baghdadi call a joint press conference to denounce the deal?

The Iran nuclear deal represents an existential threat to these two terror organizations because it signals a possible change in Western policy away from the destabilization doctrine. Instead of pushing Balkanization and chaos, the West may now decide it can live with a reasonably stable Middle East. That would mean a long, slow recovery for the region from the wave of death and destruction that ensued from the Zionist genocide beginning in 1948, and the accelerated genocide provoked by the neocon coup d’état on September 11th, 2001.

Landmark deal reached on Iran nuclear program

After arduous talks that spanned 20 months, negotiators have reached a landmark deal aimed at reining in Iran's nuclear program.

The agreement, a focal point of U.S. President Barack Obama's foreign policy, appears set to reshape relations between Iran and the West, with its effects likely to ripple across the volatile Middle East.

Representatives of Iran, the United States and the other nations involved in the marathon talks were holding a final meeting in Vienna on Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Congress will now try to block the bill with the oversight they voted themselves a month ago. Obama has already stated he will veto such a bill. If Israel cannot bribe enough congressmen to override the veto, then Netanyahu will likely attack Iran. Already Israel's whores are all over the media and the web screaming about non-existent Iranian nuclear weapons, how Iran should have been starved intso total surrender, and of course not a word about Israel's nuclear weapons coupled with an unending history of belligerence to the rest of the world!

In the long term, this campaign of sanctions as an attack on Iran to force their compliance with Israel's demands has reminded the world that the US has weaponized the global financial system and its reliance on the US dollar. This will accelerate the rest of the world's move away from the dollar and towards a multi-polar economy, where the nation with the global currency cannot use it as a club to dominate and dictate to other nations.

As a side note to the United States Secret Service; STAY AWAKE! Israel has a prior history of assassinating world leaders who refuse to do as they are told!

Iran Accuses U.S. Of Shifting Nuclear Demands As Talks Drag On

The Iran nuclear talks turned Friday from talk of progress to a blame game, with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif accusing the United States of shifting its demands. He dismissed a warning that the U.S. is ready to quit the negotiations as counterproductive.

Hours after his comments, Zarif met again U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for another try at resolving differences standing in the way of a landmark deal that offers Iran sanctions relief in exchange for long-term and verifiable curbs on nuclear programs which Tehran could turn to making weapons.

The tougher rhetoric mirrored the frustrations by the sides as the current round of talks entered its 14th day. After blowing past two extensions, negotiators had hoped to wrap up the talks by Friday, but Zarif's comments cast doubts that agreement was near.

The sides had hoped to seal a deal before the end of Thursday in Washington in attempts to avoid delays in implementing their promises.

The Empire’s Real Problem With Iran – Paul Craig Roberts

Washington’s issue with Iran has never been Iran’s nuclear energy program. The notion pushed by the neoconservatives that Iran only had a nuclear energy program (5% uranium enrichment) in order to hide a nuclear weapons program (95+% enrichment) was always a cover for Washington’s real opposition to Iran and Washington’s real agenda.

From the standpoint of Washington’s doctrine of US world hegemony, the problem with Iran is its independence. Like Iraq, Libya, Syria, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, North Korea, Russia and China, Iran is not Washington’s vassal.

Kerry threatens to quit Iran nuke talks after more delays

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry threatened Thursday to walk away from nuclear talks as he signaled that diplomats won't conclude an agreement over the coming hours - another delay that this time could complicate American efforts to quickly implement any deal.

"This is not open-ended," Kerry told reporters outside the 19th-century Viennese palace hosting the negotiations. "We can't wait forever for the decision to be made. If the tough decisions don't get made, we are absolutely prepared to call an end to this process."

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Look, we are trying to be reasonable. All that we ask is that Iran give up nuclear power and heat their homes with burning camel dung, sell their oil only for US dollars, accept private central banking, and totally disarm so that we can come in and break the place up into itty bitty tiny nationlettes we can bully around. Why is that such a problem?!?"

Is Alexis Tsipras the Mosaddegh of Our Time?

Like Tsipras, Mosaddegh is famous for a controversial and historic referendum. Mosaddegh’s rule was in turmoil domestically and outside the country, and he knew that the parliament was about to remove him from power soon. That’s why he held a referendum about the dissolution of the parliament, and to give himself temporary power to pass the laws necessary. The referendum was successful with 99% of the votes.

This remains Mosaddegh’s most controversial move to this, which many people including some reformists call undemocratic and unconstitutional. But the truth is that the parliament was handpicked by the Shah, Iran’s dictator, and they were about to overthrow the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran, and there is nothing undemocratic about turning to people’s votes, and getting a democratic mandate to push your agenda.

Iran nuclear deal close; impasse over weapons, missiles persists

Iran and six world powers were close to an historic nuclear agreement on Thursday that could resolve a more than 12-year dispute over Teheran’s nuclear ambitions, but they remained deadlocked on the issue of Iranian arms and missile trade.

Webmaster's Commentary:

FOX News is reporting that the House Panel is holding a meeting today to issue new demands for the P5+1 including open access to all Iranian non-nuclear sites, in what is clearly a last-ditch attempt to derail the possibility of a deal and open the door for a war with Iran.

Anti-Iran Lobby Steps Up Its Game Before Deadline for P5+1 Talks

The U.S. and Iranian nuclear negotiators have just announced a one week extension of their nuclear talks. If, as expected, there is an agreement next week, it will open a new stage of tension in the process leading to its final formal ratification by all parties. For then, the U.S. Congress will have 30 days to vote the agreement up or down. This vote, forced on an unwilling president by his own party’s Senate members several weeks ago, poses a new threat. For the Israel Lobby, it offers a new opportunity to sabotage the deal.

U.S. official: Iran will face arms, missile restrictions under nuclear deal

Iran will continue to face restrictions on its missile program as well as its trade in conventional arms under an emerging nuclear agreement, a senior U.S. official said on Tuesday, hours after diplomats said that the talks between Tehran and world powers would continue past deadline until July 10.

The six major powers and Iran are still not where they need to be to achieve an agreement under which Iran would restrict its nuclear program in exchange for relief from economic sanctions, the official added on condition of anonymity.

"There will be an ongoing restriction on arms (if there is a deal), just like there will be ongoing restrictions regarding missiles," the official said. "It will be part of the (United Nations) Security Council resolution."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The world understands that the US has "weaponized" the world's dependence on the US dollar to strip Iran (a nation which has not initiated a war of conquest against another nation in over 200 years) of their ability to defend themselves against a future attack by the US or Israel. This is a major reason so many other nations are breaking free of the US-dominated western financial system.

Nuclear Talks: US Spin on Access to Iranian Sites Has Distorted the Issue

Access to Iranian sites continues to be a thorny issue and the Americans may be playing a dirty game in the media

Breakthrough Reported in Iran Talks, But Differences Remain

The P5+1 nuclear negotiations with Iran continue apace this weekend, with officials describing Saturday’s talks in Vienna as a “breakthrough,” and one which now has the two sides sitting on an unofficial draft agreement which could end up serving as the basis for a final pact.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif conceding that despite the progress, the final deal still isn’t necessarily clear, and that some difference remain and will require significant effort to move past. Exactly what remains to resolve is unclear.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF these reports are true, fingers crossed that an agreement can be reached.

Not reaching an agreement may well mean war with Russia, something for which the US military is woefully unprepared.

And I say this NOT to fault the US military per se, but right now, it does not have the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia.

Secondly, the weapons which have been bought for the US military are enormously expensive, don't work as advertised, and sometimes do not work at all.

Russia spends less on weapons that does the US government, but the weapons they buy are fully vetted and when they have to be counted on by Russian military in the field, they work.

US Senate trying to sabotage Iran nuclear talks: Analyst

Morris made the remarks when asked to comment on a message tweeted by US foreign policy scholar Zbigniew Brzezinski, encouraging Washington to broker a deal with Iran.

US Senate hawks move to scuttle Iran deal by extending sanctions: Analyst

CNN Rattles Sabers as Iran Talks Move Into Key Stage

With a 7-day extension hinting at the possibility of a major breakthrough in nuclear negotiations with Iran, CNN turned the tables and instead released a story talking about US bunker-busting bombs being put on standby.

The focus on a “military option” against Iran, the idea that in the middle of key talks the US could just up and attack Iran out of the blue, wasn’t actually based on new anything US officials said. Indeed, the CNN piece relied solely on a single quote from Defense Secretary Ash Carter in an interview from way back in April.

US officials do occasionally make puzzling decisions to threaten to attack Iran, but this was not one of those times, and rather CNN invented this story as a whole cloth exercise in 19th century-style yellow journalism.

As Iran nuclear deadline passes, narrative battle heats up

The real issue holding things up is whether the Americans have the "political will" to make that leap, to agree in writing to its obligations (without 100 caveats) and the courage to face their sprawling bureaucracy whose bread-and-butter is the 'sanctions industry' and the 'Iranian enemy.' says Sharmine Narwani

It’s D-Day in Vienna, and the parties sitting across the negotiating table still haven’t ironed out terms to settle a 12-year standoff over Iran’s nuclear program. Expect this deadline to be missed. And prepare for a lot of hot air to fill its space.

The “hot air” is calculated narrative-spin from a range of players that seek to 1) scuttle a deal, 2) increase pressure/create leverage at the negotiating table, or 3) frame an upcoming agreement in language favorable to one side.

Hail, fire and brimstone, new sanctions or the US tanks on its borders, Russia takes things in stride. President Putin could adopt the motto of William of Orange: saevis tranquillus in undis, calm amidst the tempest.

Greece’s Downfall and Redemption

What the Greek people can turn to is a realistic and altogether more democratic and humane option – of demanding their country slash its monstrous military spend.

Decades of exorbitant military spending account for Greece’s present downfall under an Olympian-sized debt. European governments and news media portray the problem of Greece’s financial woes as public spending profligacy.

France's Fabius says three conditions still not met for Iran deal

"For this there are three indispensable conditions: a lasting limitation of Iran's research and development capacity, a rigorous inspection of sites, including military if needed, and the third condition is the automatic return of sanctions in case it violates its commitments."

Webmaster's Commentary:

France is now doing Israel's dirty work for them! Iran has never agreed to inspections of non-nuclear military sites (despite claims they did so in the original framework). And non-nuclear military sites are irrelevant in the context of this being a deal about nuclear weapons. The other automatic deal-breaker is the threat that sanctions can be returned in an instant if anyone (like Israel or even just a stockbroker selling Iranian stocks short) makes any unfounded accusation about Iran at all.

Iran, P5+1 extend interim nuclear deal until July 7 to win more time for talks

Six world powers and Iran have come to an agreement to extend the interim deal on Tehran’s nuclear program until July 7 to allow more time for talks to reach a final deal, the US State Department said Tuesday.

Tuesday, June 30, had previously been set as the deadline for reaching a final agreement on the nuclear deal.

Nuke talks set for several more days; signs of backtracking

World powers and Iran prepared to move past Tuesday's deadline for a comprehensive nuclear agreement, with officials suggesting significant backtracking by Tehran's negotiators that may need several more days of discussions to resolve.

Iran, World Powers Plan To Keep Nuclear Talks Going Beyond June 30 Deadline, Official Says

The six world powers seeking to negotiate an historic agreement with Iran to curb its nuclear program plan to carry on negotiating beyond a Tuesday deadline, a senior U.S. official said on Sunday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was to leave Vienna and return to Tehran for consultations with the country's leadership on the state of negotiations, Iran said.

Officials from both sides said big differences still remained.

European Union foreign policy chief Frederica Mogherini said earlier on Sunday it was not impossible to get an accord by the self-imposed deadline but that a few extra days may be needed.

Foreign ministers from the negotiating countries were gathering in Vienna on Sunday to assess where the talks stood. They expected them to spill over into July.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With these talks "spilling over" into July, the logical question I have to ask is, how long before Israel bombs the Iranian reactors with impunity, in order to make the negotiations null and void?!?

And as the country which has offered the training and technology to Iran to make their nuclear state possible, what will Russia do when that happens?!?

Unfortunately, Israel's Netanyahu is hubristic enough to not have considered this, but I would strongly caution any sane member of his cabinet to raise the question, loudly, and articulately.

P5+1 and Iran Have Settled Framework for Sanctions Relief Timing, Says Iranian Sources

Contrary to public posturing on the timing and pace of sanctions relief, a framework for handling this critical matter of the nuclear deal has been resolved, according to Iranian sources.

Iranian officials have on numerous occasions insisted that sanctions relief must come immediately upon the signing of an agreement. This has been at direct odds with the position of the U.S. government and its allies, who insist that relief only can come after Iran has taken numerous steps limiting its nuclear activities.

As often times is the case in diplomacy, the solution was found in a combination of a play with words and practical measures.

Iran never sought nuclear weapons - president

The Islamic Republic of Iran ahs never strived for obtaining nuclear weapons, the country’s President Hassan Rouhani told a meeting with commanders of the national armed forces on Sunday.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran has never been and will never be after building destructive and inhumane weapons," Press TV quoted him. He reiterated the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme.
"When the enemy attempts to present false perceptions of Iran to the world, we should, in return, make our utmost efforts to clear these wrong perceptions," President Rouhani said.
He pointed to Iran’s proposal World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE), which was adopted by the United Nations in the form of a resolution, saying that the approval of the resolution went a long way in countering the false images of Iran, Press TV reported.

The Delphi Declaration – Paul Craig Roberts

The Delphi Declaration asks the European peoples, especially the Germans, to do the right thing and object to the plunder of Greece by the One Percent.

This appeal to goodwill is likely to fall on deaf ears even though the pillage of Greece will create a precedent that can then be applied to Italy, Spain, France, and even Germany.

European governments, European institutions and the IMF, acting in close alliance, if not under direct control of big international banks and other financial institutions, are now exercising a maximum of pressure, including open threats, blackmailing and a slander and terror communication campaign against the recently elected Greek government and against the Greek people.

Greece – The Delphi Declaration

The world must realize that the so-called troika – IMF, European Central Bank and European Commission, is literally blackmailing Greece and subjecting her to outright economic torture.

During the weekend of 20 and 21 June 2015 a forum of international scholars, scientists, economists, sociologists, political analysts – met in Delphi Greece to discuss Greece and Europe.

The organizers were the so-called “Delphi Initiative”, sponsored by the Lyssarides Foundation in Cyprus, the Greek Institute for Research on Political Strategies, the Russian Institute for Globalization and Social Movements, and the Forum Mondial des Alternatives, France.

Latin American Revolutions Under Attack

The World is Turning, Don't Let it Turn Away

Do not take the Latin American revolutions for granted.

They inspired the entire Planet. They brought hope to every corner of our scarred Earth. But now they are themselves in need of our support.

All of revolutionary Latin America is “screaming”.

As I described in two of my recent books, “Exposing Lies Of The Empire” and “Fighting Against Western Imperialism”, the Empire is using similar destabilization strategy against all countries that are resisting its deadly embrace.

Lower US Flag on 4th of July

We need to do a lot more searching, a lot deeper digging, if we're going to root out and destroy the virus that has been killing us for centuries!

For over half a century, I’ve written articles against racism and war. I was shocked and I grieved to see what happened at the Charleston Emanuel Church. Quickly, the call went out: We need to have a “conversation” about race in America! And, almost as quickly: Take down the Confederate flag! But, let’s be very clear: the Confederate flag is NOT a central issue here.

On the 4th of July, when Americans raise their flags as a proud symbol of their “freedom,” will anyone dare to lower their flags to half-mast to commemorate the 60,000 Americans who died in a now-acknowledged “unnecessary” war in Vietnam– let alone the millions of Asians?

Would it be disrespectful even to suggest such a gesture?

Massive US Media Campaign Aims to Derail Iran Nuclear Deal

With the June 30 deadline for the Iran nuclear deal just days away, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), an organization bankrolled in large part by Republican super-hawk Sheldon Adelson, is stepping up in its typical role of spoiler, launching a new media campaign aimed at killed the pact.

UANI and its cohorts center the ads on dubiously-worded allegations of Iranian nuclear plots, and spurious claims of Iran “single-handedly” killing thousands of US ground troops during the Iraq occupation. The group’s latest campaign features demands more or less entirely in line with comments from hawkish Republican Senators in recent days, which are meant to be directly contrary to what Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says he expects out of an acceptable deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately in this country, money buys foreign policy in politics, so Adelson may not be that far from his goal of buying the destruction of the P5+1 deal.

There are many issues upon which I have very vocally criticised the Obama administration; this, however, is not one of them.

IF the US government allows the P5+1 deal to fail, it will have no one but itself (and Israel) to blame for the war which will almost inevitably ensue from the failure of the deal.

30,000 Pound Bomb: U.S. Prepares To Strike Iran’s Nuke Facilities With Massive Ordnance Penetrator

As U.S. nuclear talks with Iran build to a head, with a June 30 deadline fast approaching to come to an agreement on how Iran will move forward with its nuclear program, the U.S. Air Force has been rehearsing with a 30,000 pound bunker busting bomb in case Iran continues toward developing nuclear weapons.

The bomb is called the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP, and is the largest non-nuclear weapon in the world. The massive bomb is designed to take on highly fortified and underground targets, with an ability to burrow 200 feet into the ground or through 60 feet of concrete, and then detonating.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a palm to forehead moment, at velocity, upon reading this.

And Iran's government can barely be characterised as "defiant" with a straight face by anyone who has been watching these negotiations; there are certain things to which they have NEVER agreed, that the US claims they have, such as inspection of all military sites, and interviews with their nuclear scientists on demand.

Over the last 20 years, I have been on a journey from a place, an America I thought I knew and understood, to an America where its foreign policy has devolved into apoplectic power grabs by its money junkies in power to own all the world's resources, no matter the cost to its citizens or the world.

I do not recognise this country anymore.

Greece – the Way Out

The Greek people are being penalized for having had the audacity to elect a socialist government – How dare they! – That’s the verdict.

What the troika is doing to Greece these days is the pinnacle of financial terrorism. It is economic waterboarding. It is blackmailing of the first degree. These people are neoliberal fascists, putting the Greek government before a dilemma – ‘either you present us with an acceptable list of austerities, or we will prepare one for you’ – literally. An austerity plan you better accept, lest you may default and being expulsed from the European monetary union and maybe even the EU. That is their threat. That is what Brussels does to a brother; to one of theirs. There is not a shred of solidarity left in this miss-called ‘Union’. This ‘Union’ doesn’t deserve existing.

Israel’s Dangerous Game with Syrian Al Nusra Islamists

Recently, Israeli TV aired an interview (Hebrew, at the 2:00 mark) with a wounded Syrian fighter who was treated in Israel after being evacuated from the combat zone. As I, and many other journalists have reported, Israel, despite the false claim of neutrality in the civil war, has frequently intervened in the conflict on behalf of forces opposed to Bashar al-Assad. It does this less because it opposes Assad himself, than because its arch-enemies, Iran and Hezbollah, are the regime’s strongest allies.

Ehud Barak: US lost negotiation leverage with Iran by committing publicly to reach nuclear deal

As the deadline approaches for a deal on Iran’s nuclear program, many in the US and the Middle East remain skeptical that it will prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. With the promise of a breakthrough in the decades-long impasse being weighed against the prospects of nuclear proliferation in the region, any outcome is bound to be controversial. Would a compromise contribute to stability, or will it sow the seeds of future conflict? Israel lobby pushing US to thwart nuclear deal with Iran: Analyst

The powerful Israel lobby in the United States is seeking to forestall a nuclear agreement with Iran and ignite another war in the Middle East, a political commentator in Los Angeles says.

“The problem that we have right now in America with people like John Kerry, the secretary of state, of course, is that you have a lot of Zionist influence, said James Morris, editor of America-hijacked.com, a blog charting the influence of the Jewish lobby.

“The Israel lobby is working overtime to try to get a war going with Iran,” Morris told Press TV on Thursday. “It seems that we are on a path to another war for Israel in the Middle East.”

How the Bush Administration Created the Iran "Nuclear Confession" Scam

Secretary of State John Kerry gave further legitimacy to a long-running official scam over the demand for a confession from Iran last week, even as he argued that getting details of Iran's alleged past work on nuclear weapons wasn't necessary for a nuclear agreement.Kerry said Tuesday that the Obama administration was "not fixated on Iran specifically accounting for what they did at one point in time or another." That wasn't necessary for a deal, Kerry explained, because, "We know what they did. ... We have absolute knowledge with respect to the certain military activities they were engaged in."
