Bolton: Trump Gave Bibi Green Light For Preemptive Israeli Strike On Iran Nuclear Sites

Among the new revelations and interesting tidbits found in John Bolton's now leaked pre-published edition of “The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir,” is that President Trump was said to be prepared to endorse an Israeli preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear sites.

In a section which describes the "elusive search" for an Arab-Israeli peace deal, Bolton writes that Trump told him at a moment of increased Israeli concerns over Iran's nuclear development:

"You tell Bibi that if he uses force, I will back him. I told him that, but you tell him again."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, Bolton and Trump both suffer from a collective, and severe, case of SMD (Selective Memory Disorder)

Apparently, both gentlemen have "conveniently forgotten" a Diplomatic conclave, held last summer in Russia, where a Russian diplomat assured his Iranian counterpart of the following: Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says

The article goes on to state: "“Iran will withstand this type of fight and Iran is not alone,” Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, said at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow.

When asked if Russia was ready to provide material support to Iran if the U.S. attacks it, Kabulov said that “specific actions are a question for the Russian president.”

“But it’s not just Russia, many other countries sympathize and empathize with Iran,” the Kommersant business daily quoted him as saying. “Tehran won’t be alone if the U.S., God forbid, takes wild and irresponsible actions against it.”

Career diplomats like Kabulov don't even "break wind" without Putin's express blessing, so if he made that statement in this meeting, you can bet your sweet bippy that Putin is putting his very considerable geopolitical weight behind Iran NOT getting invaded or bombed by the US.

A proxy war for Israel against Iran, with Russia coming in on Iran's side?!?

Is THIS how completely, insanely stupid this administration has become?!?

Indian Troops Given 'Fire At Will' Orders Against Chinese Troops If Threatened, Enraging Beijing

Beijing is enraged over current widespread Indian media reports that the Indian Army has been given orders to shoot or use "complete freedom of action" in hostile engagements with Chinese PLA forces along the disputed Ladakh border region.

The reports come following last week's major border incident with China that resulted in 20 Indian Army troops killed, and an undisclosed number of Chinese PLA casualties in the disputed Galwan Valley area of East Ladakh.

Chinese state-media Global Times editor Hu Xijin called out the reports, saying that if the new 'rules of engagement' are true, it's a serious violation of prior treaties implemented for deescalation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF true, this marks a serious escalation on India's behalf, and I would encourage its leadership to be taking the polar opposite tack vis-a-vis China, and right the heck now.

China's Big Surprise (Years In The Making): An EMP Attack?

Authored by Peter Pry, op-ed via The Hill,

The coronavirus pandemic has exposed dangerous weaknesses in U.S. planning and preparation for civil defense protection and recovery, and those weaknesses surely have been noticed by our potential enemies: China, Russia, North Korea, Iran and international terrorists.

The U.S. spent decades, and billions of dollars, supposedly preparing for biological warfare. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the departments of Defense and Homeland Security are supposed to have contingency plans to protect the American people from lethal biological weapons such as anthrax and genetically engineered smallpox, which could have mortality rates of over 90 percent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Through its response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the real level of "protection" of ordinary citizens by the US government is being shown for what it really is, in the 21st century; sound and fury, signifying ...nothing.

India Seeks Rapid Purchase Of 33 Russian Fighter Jets In Response To Chinese Border Fight

India is reportedly seeking to beef up military purchases from Russia following last week's major border incident with China that resulted in 20 Indian Army troops killed, and an undisclosed number of Chinese PLA casualties in the disputed Galwan Valley area of East Ladakh.

Indian government sources were cited in New Delhi-based ANI News Agency as saying "the Indian Air Force (IAF) has pushed a proposal to the government for acquiring 33 new fighter aircraft, including 21 MiG-29s and 12 Su-30MKIs from Russia."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Two nuclear-armed neighbors, at each others' throats, does not augur well for peace, either in the region, or in the world; I am hoping - and praying - that SOMEONE, hopefully, an "adult in the room" with some geopolitical integrity left (that sure as HELL leaves out President Trump), is working the phones intensely between New Dehli and Beijing, to ratchet the tensions down here, and encouraging the leadership of both countries to enact some confidence-building measures here.

Second Shooting In Seattle's CHOP-Zone Leaves One In Critical Condition

Via The Epoch Times,

One person was wounded in what was the second shooting in Seattle’s protest zone in less than 48 hours, police said.

The shooting happened late Sunday night in the area near Seattle’s downtown that is known as CHOP, for “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest,” police tweeted, adding that one person was at a hospital with a gunshot wound.

The person arrived in a private vehicle and was in serious condition, Harborview Medical Center spokesperson Susan Gregg said in a statement.

The zone evolved after weeks of protests in the city over police brutality and racism, sparked by the police killing of George Floyd, a black man, in Minneapolis.

The Sunday shooting followed a pre-dawn shooting on Saturday in a park within the zone that left a 19-year-old man dead and a 33-year-old man critically injured. The suspect or suspects in that first shooting fled the scene, and no arrests had been made as of Sunday, Detective Mark Jamieson had said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just how long her Grand Ineptitude, Seattle's Mayor Jenny Durkan, will allow this madness to continue, and how many more of Seattle's citizens will have to die, before she demonstrates the slightest bit of spine here.

Peaceful demonstrations leading to massive police reform?!? Absolutely.

But this?!? What is this woman thinking?!?

Chinese Warplanes Advance On Taiwan As Tensions Soar

For the seventh time this month, Chinese warplanes approached Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Monday in what could be a deepening phase of geopolitical turmoil between Beijing and Taipei, reported Reuters.

The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) flew at least one H-6 bomber and J-10 fighter jet into the ADIZ at the island's southwest territory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US, in its current state of geopolitical, social, and economic melt-down and turmoil, would be hard-pressed to respond in Taipei's defense, should things get more intense between Taiwan and China; Chinese leadership understands this, and perhaps this is the reason they might feel secure in "seizing the moment", at this point, to make Taiwan surrender to its overwhelming relative military might.

US, Saudis, allies responsible for any environmental disaster off Yemen coast: Houthi

A member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council has held Saudi Arabia and its regional allies, which are involved in an atrocious military campaign against the impoverished Arab country, fully responsible for a potential oil leakage from a decaying tanker in the Red Sea, and the impending environmental disaster it could cause.

“We do not assume any responsibility for any leakage from the Safer tanker afloat at the sea,” Arabic-language al-Masirah television network quoted Mohammed Ali al-Houthi as saying on Thursday.

He called for immediate actions over the matter, holding the United States, Saudi Arabia and their allies fully liable for any disastrous consequences as they have not allowed Yemen to sell the crude loaded at the tanker.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Saudis and the US government will not lift a finger to prevent this coming, preventable catastrophe; all they care about, is the further destruction of Yemen and its people, to the point of the Houthis' capitulation.

I would like to gently suggest to the governments of both countries that this is only likely to happen... when pigs discover they are aerodynamic.

China, Russia see US 'bullying' as IAEA adopts anti-Iran resolution

China and Russia have rebuked the International Atomic Energy Agency for giving in to US "bullying" as the IAEA's board of governor on Friday passed a resolution critical of Iran for the first time since 2012.

The resolution, submitted by France, Britain and Germany, comes at a time when the United States is working to extend an arms embargo against Iran.

Diplomats attending the Friday meeting in Vienna were cited as saying that the resolution called on Iran to allow access to two former sites mentioned in two IAEA reports.

Iranian officials have said Tehran has responded to all outstanding questions about its nuclear activities and the IAEA has repeatedly confirmed it. The new questions, they say, have been raised based on information fabricated by Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, this is a demonstration by the IAEA as to just how intensely the US and Israel have grabbed it by a very sensitive portion of the human anatomy, and is forcing it to go along with their agenda, which is a pretext for a war against Iran.

I cannot tell you who I think will win the Presidential elections here in the US in November, but I am almost prepared to bet real money on the following; no matter who gets elected, we will most likely see this country go back to a draft as a preparation for this, and other, endless wars of conquest and occupation.

And this time, the Federal Government will be coming after both our young men and our young women.

Global War, Nuclear Accidents, Volcanic Eruptions: Deutsche Bank's Apocalyptic Take On What May Come Next

In many ways, 2020 has already been a year that has had virtually every worst-case outcome take place: a global pandemic the likes of which have not been seen since the Spanish Flu of 1918, a market crash and economic recession that were as sharp as the Great Depression of 1929, a Fed intervention that puts the 2008 bailout to shame, and topping it all off, a new cold war. But according to Deutsche Bank the "fat tail" outcomes are only getting started.

As the bank's strategists Henry Allen and Jim Reid "cheerfully" write, tail risks such as Covid-19 are thankfully rare compared with other market shocks. However, they note, such events "are a more regular occurrence than most people think, with pandemics being just one example. In this piece we consider various tail risks that could cause another global crisis, and assess the probability that they will occur."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reasons Deutsche Bank is making these predictions... is to understand how to position itself to make the most possible money, no matter what comes down the pike, in terms of future shocks to the system by the above-reference catastrophes, either naturally occurring, or human-caused.

But for the rest of us.... we simply have to prep for any eventuality which may befall us, particularly if governments come crashing down around our heads, and we are uniquely on our own, in terms of taking care of ourselves and the people about whom we care.

So here comes my mantra yet again; storeable food; potable water; extra meds for yourself, family, and pets, and a bug-out kit, with certain very specific guidelines about how and when you will use it.

China Conducts Military 'Show Of Force' Drills With Tanks Near Indian Border

Both China and India have signaled they are seeking to deescalate soaring tensions along the disputed and loosely demarcated Line of Actual Control (LAC) which separates Indian-controlled territory from Chinese-controlled territory along Ladakh and the Chinese Tibet Autonomous Region.

This after on Monday night the deadliest border clash in a half-century erupted, after which the Indian Army confirmed 20 of its troops killed after being critically wounded followed by being “exposed to sub-zero temperatures in the high altitude terrain.” Though the Chinese side has yet to give details of PLA casualties, Indian media has widely reported that over 40 "enemy" soldiers were killed.

Though political leaders on both sides have said they don't want to stoke tensions possibly leading to outbreak of war, Chinese state media CCTV announced military drills designed as a 'show of force'. RT Arabic subsequently republished video of the undated exercises near the Line of Actual Control.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is absolutely a very clear demonstrations of actions being louder than words; I would like to continue to hope that SOMEONE, one of the "adults in the room" in world geopolitics, with some real credibility in morally tough conflict resolution, is going to step up to the plate, and will work the phones between Beijing and New Dehli, and convince leadership to start a meaningful show of de-escalation here.

Unfortunately, that definitely leaves out President Trump, who has succeeded in creating a ginormous moral vacuum in US foreign policy, courtesy of an absolute tsunami of bad decision making, on the part of himself, and his administration.

There is a companion piece, also in zerohedge.com this morning, with the following headline: More Details Are Emerging About The India-China Border Clash The article goes on to state:

"uthored by Christophe Barraud

More details are emerging about the violent clash on Monday night along a disputed border between India and China high in the Himalayas, which has led to renewed tensions between the two countries. The incident came despite India and China have started to pull back their forces along the border after talks between senior military officials, according to India’s Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane on June 13.

According to Bloomberg, “in near sub-zero temperatures in the thin air of 15,000 feet, Chinese and Indian soldiers attacked each other with stones, iron rods and bamboo poles wrapped in barbed wire laced with nails. It is not clear what started the clashes, but by the time they were finished 20 Indian soldiers were dead, along with an unknown number of Chinese casualties.” CNN also confirmed that “they fought with fists, stones, and nail-studded bamboo poles.”

NATO To Probe French & Turkish Warships Near Clash Incident Off Libya

Perhaps predictably given Erdogan's increased threats and foreign adventurism, cracks loom in the NATO alliance over Libya, leading to an official probe by Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

It started last week after France complained that Turkey is still breaking a UN arms embargo in effect on war-torn Libya. When a French frigate attempted to intercept a Turkish vessel suspected of running arms into Tripoli on June 10, it was reportedly "engaged" via radar, as if a missile strike was impending. The AP details, based on French defense sources:

According to a French defense official, the frigate Courbet was “lit up” three times by Turkish naval targeting radar when it tried to approach a Turkish civilian ship suspected of involvement in arms trafficking. The Courbet backed off after being targeted.

The French vessel was part of NATO's naval operation in the Mediterranean, Sea Guardian, at the time of the June 10 incident.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Stoltenberg is probably grinding his teeth at night over this, and wishing that NATO really didn't need Turkey in this alliance; unfortunately, because of its geostrategic significance in the region, NATO does need Turkey as part of this.

But Stoltenberg has got to make it clear to Edrogan, that it he wants to remain in the alliance, there are certain things he absolutely, cannot be allowed to do... like arms trafficking off the coast of Libya.

‘Forces’ Sweetheart’ Dame Vera Lynn Who Entertained WW2 Troops Dies Aged 103

LONDON (AP) – Dame Vera Lynn, the endearingly popular “Forces´ Sweetheart” who serenaded British troops abroad during World War II, has died at 103.

Belarus - A U.S. Sponsored Color Revolution Is Underway

THe CIA is staging a Coloured Revolution here in the USA too!

U.S engineered attempts to overthrow a foreign government by stirring civil arrests are usually named after a color or, at times, a flower. Thus we had an "rose revolution" in Georgia, a "green movement" in Iran and an "orange revolution" in the Ukraine.

But now the CIA and its assortment of supporting organizations seems to have run out of color choices. How else can one explain that their latest attempt in Belarus is called a "slipper revolution".

No, the Guardian, which published the 'Slipper revolution' headline today but later changed it, did not come up with that stupid moniker by itself.

The U.S. State Department funded Belsat.eu TV station was the first to mention slippers in a picture caption on May 31.

Rabobank: "Bolton's Book Marks Another Step Deeper Into The US-China Cold War"

Submitted by Michael Every of Rabobank

Spy Kvetcher
Excuse the repeat pun today, but there was no need to publish in Australia to avoid the Official Secrets Act: just leak the contents to journalists and, hey presto, the Bloomberg headline (so far) is “Book of Bolton”. Which, it must be said, lands some heavy blows on this US president. The particular hits the media are flagging are that Trump allegedly pleaded with China’s Xi Jinping to help him get re-elected, and was fine with re-education/detention camps in Xinjiang.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is supremely frustrating about the current state of events is having to formulate the question that NO ONE in the bowels of power in DC want us asking, and that is: why are Americans' choices for their President always so absolutely God-awful every four years?!?

Why does someone like a Tulsi Gabbard ( a US Veteran who has seen war, a minority, and a very bright, self-actualized woman) never get a place at the table?!?

Listen, had she been allowed to run by her Party, I would have canvassed for her. I do marketing for a living, and I am not half-bad at it.

So, for our "choices", we have a slezozoid, corrupt Biden, running against a slezozoid, corrupt President Trump, all pumped up by their respective ad agencies to appear as though they are saviors of this country, not to mention the world, when they neither candidate comes close to fitting that particular bill.

And at the end of the day, the party that ALWAYS wins American elections, is the bi-partisan war party, so what benefit to the average American is this illusion of having choice in the American political process, when, in reality, there is none?!?

I'm absolutely no seer, but I would reasonably predict that no matter who wins the Presidential election in November, that this country will go back to a draft; and this time, they will be conscripting our your women, as well as our young men.

Our troop strength is way down from what it needs to be continue to fight these on-going endless wars, from which there appears to be no respite.

America: Too Weak to Rein in Its Own Empire

A grievous blow to international security has just been dealt. President Donald Trump has announced that American troops are to be withdrawn from…Germany. Yes, Germany. Why are American troops in Germany? Because we have to fight them over there so we don’t fight them here, you see, and there are few generators of terrorism and chaos in the world today quite like the Berlin club circuit.

The real surprise isn’t that we’re pulling troops out of Germany; it’s that they’re still there 75 years after World War II ended. And according to the White House, they aren’t even all being withdrawn, just a quarter of them, a reduction of 9,500 that will leave 25,000 American boots on German soil. And of the 9,500, a senior administration official tells Reuters that at least some will be redeployed elsewhere. Poland, with its closer proximity to Russia and plans to build a Fort Trump panderopolis, is a likely destination.

North Korea to resume wargames in demilitarized border area after BLOWING UP intra-Korean liaison office

Pyongyang has vowed to send troops back into previously disarmed areas and renew military drills near the border, amid an ongoing spat with Seoul over defectors, inflamed further by the recent demolition of a negotiations outpost.
North Korea will reestablish a troop presence in the Mount Kumgang and Kaesong regions – which both fall just beyond the Demilitarized Zone along the border – and resume “all kinds of regular military exercises,” the Korean People's Army said on Wednesday, according to Yonhap News.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There's a companion piece from Reuters with the following datelined yesterday:

North Korea rejects South's offer of envoys, vows to redeploy border troops

Things seem to be deteriorating spectacularly here, but of course, there is very little mention of it in US press outlets; one has to wonder what the next North Korean escalation is going to be, and what China is going to do to either encourage it, or attempt to restrain it?!?

Saudi Airstrike Kills 13 Civilians in Yemen

An airstrike from the US-backed Saudi-led coalition hit a vehicle carrying civilians in north Yemen on Monday. The airstrike killed 13 people, including four children. The same day, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres removed the Saudi coalition from a global list of parties who have harmed children in conflicts.

The international humanitarian group Save the Children said the victims were on their way home from a local market when the vehicle was suddenly bombed. The Houthi’s Health Ministry identified 11 of the victims, which included one woman and four children, ages 12-14.

The coalition often targets civilian infrastructure, which is why Guterres’s move to remove them from the “blacklist” drew sharp condemnation from human rights groups. Saudi warplanes have hit schools, hospitals, water treatment plants, markets, weddings, and other civilian targets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to guess that when countries are as wealthy as is Saudi Arabia, one can buy people like UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as your geopolitical whores, and deny any culpability for murdering civilian innocents; hey, Guterres, what was your price here?!?

We're very keen to know, and right the hell now!!

Israel increases secretive nuclear stockpile to 90 warheads: Report

Israel may have increased its nuclear stockpile from 80 warheads in 2019 to 90 in 2020, according to a new report by a leading global arms watchdog.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri) said in its annual report on Monday that Israel, one of the world's nine nuclear powers, could be in possession of up to 90 nuclear warheads.

The watchdog said that the true number could be higher as Israel does not officially comment on its nuclear capabilities.

"There is significant uncertainty about the size of Israel's nuclear arsenal and its warhead capabilities," it said.

"Israel continues to maintain its long-standing policy of nuclear opacity: it neither officially confirms nor denies that it possesses nuclear weapons."

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder against whom in their neighborhood they are planning to use these weapons.

North Korea blows up diplomatic office amid escalating tensions with South Korea

North Korea blew up a liaison office building it operates with South Korea, officials in Seoul said Tuesday, as tensions on the Korean Peninsula escalated amid stalled denuclearization talks between Pyongyang and the Trump administration.

Seoul’s Unification Ministry said it was still trying to determine precisely what happened. But it confirmed that the joint liaison office, opened in 2018 to foster better relations between the rival Koreas, was destroyed by North Korea at the border town of Kaesong.

The targeting of the building by North Korea comes as Pyongyang has repeatedly warned Seoul that it needs to prevent defectors and activists from sending anti-North Korea propaganda leaflets across the border via balloons and drones.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This absolutely does not bode well for peace at all; at least (hopefully), the building was not occupied when the North Koreans blew it up.

Chinese Forces Kill 3 Indian Troops During First Deadly Border Clash In Nearly 50 Years

Following days of escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, Indian Army officials confirmed that three troops - an officer and two soldiers, to be more precise - had been gunned down by Chinese forces during a "violent faceoff" in Galwan Valley in the Ladakh region, which rests along the country's border with China on Monday night.

A statement from the Indian Army says both sides were meeting to diffuse tensions building up on the border in the last several weeks. Other reports indicate the soldiers weren't shot but had been killed during a rock-throwing melee reminiscent of another border incident back in May, where both sides reported injuries.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Will a couple of "adults in the room" with some geopolitical integrity left, please start working the phones between New Dehli and Beijing, and get the leadership of these two countries to "cool it"?!?

Two nuclear armed neighbors on the cusp of war is double-plus ungood for the whole world-right now, and China has a defense/trade pact with Pakistan China's Belt and Road plan in Pakistan takes a Distinctly Military Turnwhich could mean if things here go "mammary glands vertical", we have China and Pakistan fighting against India, which is under treaty with the US *(from the Obama Administration) to have access to 99% of US defense technology. India will have access to 99% US defense technology, says Obama Official

This is utterly NOT headed in a good direction, and unfortunately, this Administration has completely bungled its relations with almost every country in the world, save Israel.

One of the first comprehensive surveys of Israeli training of US local and federal law enforcement officials.

South Korea Holds Emergency Meeting as Kim’s Sister Threatens Military Action

South Korea is holding an emergency meeting on Sunday in response to worsening ties with North Korea, and following threats of military action by Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Kim, who serves as a top aide, says that she is to instruct North Korean forces to carry out a decisive action, saying “I feel it is high time to surely break with the South Korea authorities.”

She didn’t specify what that would entail, but South Koreans have recently been sending anti-regime leaflets north, and that tends to rile up the North Korean government and lead to threats of non-specific actions. South Korea is urging both sides to honor agreements.

This was another opportunity thoroughly bungled by the Trump White House; so, what now?!?

The Worst of All Possible Worlds? Echoes of Orwell’s Dystopian 1984. Mass Surveillance, Police State Rule, Struggle to Survive…

Longterm harm caused by US policies at home and abroad are far removed from a Panglossian best of all possible worlds view.

What’s going on has echoes of Orwell’s dystopian 1984.

Both right wings of the US war party wage forever wars against invented enemies.

Mass surveillance, controlling the message, and countering resistance are what police state rule is all about, how the US operates domestically, what it wants imposed on other nations worldwide.

The disparity between super-wealth and growing poverty in the US is greater than any time since the 19th century gilded age.

The nation’s economic policy elevates all yachts to unprecedented levels while protracted main street Depression harms ordinary Americans with nothing ongoing to change things.

Countless millions of US households face unacceptable choices between paying rent or servicing mortgages, seeking increasingly unaffordable medical care when needed, heating homes in winter, and feeding family members.

US Troops in Colombia “Associate with Illegal Groups”, Killing Farmers, Seek to “Spark a War with Venezuela”

Colombian senators on Wednesday said that U.S. troops that arrived in the South American country in early June are allowed to associate with illegal groups and seek an eventual international confrontation.

The Democratic Congressman Ivan Cepeda revealed that the current manuals of the U.S. special forces (SFAB) that arrived in Colombia “mention the function of advising non-governmental militias and illegal partners.”

“We can end up like Libya, a destroyed state that has become a field for the multinational oil companies,” the opposition congressman added.

The arrival of U.S. military personnel in the country without the consent of Congress demonstrates the responsibility of the government of Ivan Duque in that regard.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why, send in special forces to Columbia without Congressional oversight or approval, THAT'S WHAT!!

Video: Hearing Is Not Like Seeing: NATO’s Terrorists Burning Syrian Wheat Crops

A video clip shared by local farmers from Ras Al-Ayn showing an inferno burning their livelihood before their eyes, hundreds of acres of wheat on fire just as the crop is due to harvest.

We’ve been reporting about these fires in areas of operation of the NATO’s Turkish (Orwellian-named) ‘Spring of Peace’ military operation in northern, and especially in northeastern Syria regions as well as in areas where remnants and sleeper cells of NATO-sponsored terrorists of ISIS and its affiliates are active in the south of the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a companion story at globalresearch.ca, with the following headline:

The US Admits They Are to Blame for Hunger in Syria

The article goes on to state: "United States Special Envoy to Syria, James Jeffrey, announced on Sunday that Washington had offered Syria a proposal to end the US sanctions. The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry in Damascus said that the statements by James Jeffrey constitute a clear admission by the Trump administration of it being directly responsible for the suffering of Syrians. The Syrians see the increasing sanctions as economic-warfare after the US failure to bring about ‘regime change’, by using terrorists supported by the CIA. Damascus declares the sanctions violate human rights and international law as they affect the Syrian population.

President Trump inherited the Syrian war from its creator, former President Obama. In 2016, Trump campaigned with a promise to stop US support of the war in Syria; however, he has since invaded and occupied several areas in Syria and has declared he is there to keep the oil from being used by Syria. Russia entered Syria in 2015 at the request of Damascus to assist in the fight against Al Qaeda and ISIS terrorists.

The newest sanctions have a 5-year life-span, and can be dismissed if seven criteria are met; however, the first two points are designed specifically to prevent fighting the Al Qaeda terrorists who control Idlib and are holding about 3 million persons as human shields. Both Syria and Russia, its ally in Syria, have said defeating terrorism are strategic goals."

War crimes abroad.... domestic violence directed against citizens at home; but hell, it's... the Good old USA, right?!? The Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, right?!?!?

US Sends F-35s to Middle East, Likely Targeting Iran

The US is sending a new group of F-35s to the Middle East, though exactly why is subject to speculation, as Centcom’s report was just a list of things the costly plane could conceivably do.

Things like close air support are capabilities, but not strengths, and the US has other planes better suited to that role. This is fueling speculation that the move is aimed at Iran.

There seems no particular reason to be after Iran just now, but US hostility toward Iran comes and goes like the seasons, so it is as good an explanation as any.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to me that the US military is sending these fighter jets around, so that they can appear as though they are actually "doing something", when in reality, many of the critical infrastructure problems have never gotten fixed.

Five F-35 issues have been downgraded, but they remain unsolved

The article goes on to state: "The F-35 Joint Program Office has put in place stopgap fixes for five key technical flaws plaguing America’s top-end fighter jet, but the problems have not been completely eliminated.

Last June, Defense News reported exclusive details about 13 major technical issues, known as category 1 deficiencies, impacting the F-35. The JPO has since quietly downgraded five of those issues to the lesser category 2."

US WILL SEND UKRAINE ANOTHER $250M IN WEAPONS, GEAR AND OTHER AID

SOURCE: DEFENSE ONE
The Pentagon will send weapons and other military aid worth $250 million to Ukraine as part of the four-year-old Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, or USAI, defense officials announced Thursday.

The aid includes counter-artillery radars, air surveillance systems, other tactical equipment, military medical treatment, cyber defenses, “strategic communications,” according to a Thursday release by the Pentagon. Intended to help Ukraine fight the Russia-backed forces that have occupied part of the country’s eastern region since 2014, the aid aims to “enhance Ukraine’s defensive lethal capabilities and situational awareness in the maritime domain” and “counter Russian cyber offensive operations and misinformation.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Are you flipping kidding me?!?

The government is spending $1.5 BILLION on arms to Ukraine, when the level of corruption in that country's government is utterly laughable, and we have Americans homeless and hungry, sleeping in our streets?!?

This, folks, is insanity, writ large in national foreign policy.

NEW EVIDENCE SUGGESTS TURKEY PREPARING FOR LIBYA-STYLE MILITARY INTERVENTION IN YEMEN

SOURCE: MINT PRESS
ADEN, YEMEN — As focus begins to turn to developments in Libya and the foreign interference that plagues the Arab country, it seems that Turkey already has its eye elsewhere, preparing for military involvement in Yemen in a move that has sparked concern among Yemenis already struggling against an intervention led by Saudi Arabia, famine and most recently, COVID-19.

Informed sources in Aden and Taiz revealed to MintPress that a militia belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated El-Eslah Party, the ideological and political ally of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, is already engaged in the latest round of fighting in Yemen’s southern provinces, particularly in Abyan and Shabwa.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Obama originally sent "advisors" to Yemen, to placate the Saudi government; President Trump has "doubled down" on this approach, and put the US into the position of enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

One has to wonder what Erdogan's "end game" against Saudi Arabia might well be here; Turkish control of Marib, perchance?!?

Strait Tensions Soar: Taiwan Test Fires Missiles, Beijing Sends Warplane

Eight months after we penned a piece titled "Taiwan Warns Of Possible Invasion If China's Economy Continues To Deteriorate" -- a virus pandemic has crippled the global economy and Taiwan on Thursday (June 11) conducted missile tests off several of its coasts as tensions between China and the US are rising in the Taiwan Strait.

The South China Morning Post (SCMP) is reporting that Taiwan has test-fired missiles off its eastern and southern coasts as the self-ruled island increases its defense capabilities against mainland China.

The tests were held near Taiwan's eastern county of Taitung and the Jiupeng military base in the southern part of the island on Thursday night.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US is is in no real position to assist Taiwan, rather than with already-concluded missile sales, which appears to be President Trump's only way of dealing with adversaries at this point in his presidency, other than sanctions.

Removing A US President Without An Election

Authored by Paul Ryder via Counterpunch.org,

Five times in the last ninety years, elements of the U.S. power structure have tried to oust a sitting president without an election.

The efforts were aimed at Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump.

Two attempts succeeded and three failed... so far.

If the Democrats had understood Watergate, they would have noticed a key condition was missing: aggravated conflict between the president and the military-industrial complex. That is why the Democrats failed.

Of course, as 2020 election day approaches, President Trump has managed to create a triple crisis — his bungled COVID-19 response, the resulting economic paralysis, and his inciting a coast-to-coast police rampage — which may doom him with no effort by the Democrats. No one knows at this point.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that history, ultimately, will be morally incapable of being kind in its judgement of one of the most horrifically failed Presidents in US history.

America’s Forever Wars Have Come Home

by William J. Astore and Tom Engelhardt Posted onJune 08, 2020
Originally posted at TomDispatch.

Here’s a little portrait of the United States in June 2020, a passage from a New York Times report on the National Guard’s treatment of a recent protest march of people chanting "We can’t breathe!" in Washington, D.C.:

"A Black Hawk helicopter, followed by a smaller medical evacuation helicopter, dropped to rooftop level with its searchlights aimed at the crowd. Tree limbs snapped, nearly hitting several people. Signs were torn from the sides of buildings. Some protesters looked up, while others ran into doorways. The downward force of air from the rotors was deafening. The helicopters were performing a ‘show of force’ – a standard tactic used by military aircraft in combat zones to scatter insurgents."

Webmaster's Commentary:

As someone who, many, many years ago, graduated from a "rainbow college", featuring any and every ethnicity one could imagine, and understanding how people could work together for the common good, because everyone there got along brilliantly, all intent on getting that diploma, what continues to keep happening in this country, in terms of violence in our inner cities, just breaks my heart.

And the practice of "kettling" by our police departments, has to stop, please, and right now.

White House Tries to Link US Protests to Venezuelan Government: Allegations appear to hinge on Max Blumenthal's t-shirt

The best part of a major, nationwide protest movement is having someone to blame. This weekend, the new narrative embraced by the White House would pin large US protests against police brutality on Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro.

The Trump Administration has had a problem with Maduro for a long time, and in just the past few months had also accused him of being involved in the drug trade, justifying a bounty on his head that culminated in a failed invasion by a private US company.

The White House is refusing to offer any proof on this, saying it was “non-open source.” Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) cited certain news reports from Latin America. The whole thing, incredibly, all falls back on Max Blumenthal’s T-shirt.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, WHO in the White House is off their meds, in order to come up with such an unhinged linkage?!?

Apparently in the operative collective-think of the White House, reasonable people living in our inner cities, who are consistently exposed to a steady diet of police violence, have absolutely no reason to be upset when that violence resulted in the death of an unarmed man.

Was Floyd an angel?!? The short answer is, absolutely not; but in light of the fact that he was already subdued and in custody, why did this cop believe he had the right to asphyxiate him with the hold he used?!?

I cannot believe for one second that he didn't know what he was doing, and what the ultimate outcome would have been.

There is a great deal we urgently need to fix in our own back yard as Americans, before we lecture other countries about their perceived "wrong-doings."

India and China Agree to Resolve Border Standoff

India and China agreed to resolve a current border standoff peacefully in line with various bilateral agreements and will keep each other engaged as talks remains deadlocked.

“The two sides will continue military and diplomatic engagements to resolve the situation and to ensure peace and tranquility in the border areas,” India’s ministry of external affairs said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is hopeful.

And whichever world leaders who have been working the phones behind the scenes to encourage a racheting down of tensions... THANK YOU!!!

White House, Pentagon tensions near breaking point

Friction in this relationship, historically, is not unusual. But in recent days, and for the second time in Trump’s term, it has raised a prospect of high-level resignations and the risk of lasting damage to the military’s reputation.

Calm may return, both in the crisis over Floyd’s death and in Pentagon leaders’ angst over Trump’s threats to use federal troops to put down protesters. But it could leave a residue of resentment and unease about this president’s approach to the military, whose leaders welcome his push for bigger budgets but chafe at being seen as political tools.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is an horrific irony here, and I say this with the greatest respect for our country's military; geopolitically, the military, particularly in the 20th and 21st century, have been the tools of destabilization and regime change across the globe, from Iraq, to Afghanistan, Somalia, and Syria.

The pattern is obvious, for anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together; destabilise, regime change, and insure that the only monetary unit in which that country's resources are sold, are in US dollars.

It is NOT the military's fault that this keeps happening; it is the entire fault of the US civilian government, ordering them to continue to behave in this manner, which is the problem, to fatten the coffers of the already well-monied.

In this country, we have the illusion of change, every 4 years, rather than any substantive real change in domestic or foreign policy; because no matter who, and which party wins, the "War Party" in this country has full bi-partisan support.

This... is the grim reality I see this election year, and every election year.

The late George Carlin was an incredible comedian, but more than that, in his own way a prophet. George Carlin on War:
how bombing brown people became a growth industry

The article went on to state:"“In a sane and just society, the architects of the nearly 17-year-old war in Iraq, which is still ongoing and has left an estimated half-million people dead, would face war crimes charges and those who cheered them on would be thoroughly discredited.”
— Jessica Schulberg, HuffPost

Amid swirling tensions between President Donald Trump, Iran, and the potential for a new war in the Middle East, a historic clip resurfaced on social media of comedian George Carlin, bemoaning the pattern of American militarism in which the United States, often with the help of a conspiring media and a lazy public, jump into a major war just about every twenty years.

Carlin recorded the routine entitled “Rockets and Penises in the Persian Gulf” as part of an HBO special in 1992, on the heels of the first Gulf War launched by President George H.W. Bush. The clip was shared on Twitter, as a War Powers Resolution to block Trump from additional attacks on Iran was debated on Capitol Hill. The message of Carlin’s routine was proven once again relevant."

FBI LAUNCHES OPEN ATTACK ON 'FOREIGN' ALTERNATIVE MEDIA OUTLETS CHALLENGING US FOREIGN POLICY | THE GRAYZONE

SOURCE: THE GRAYZONE
UNDER FBI ORDERS, FACEBOOK AND GOOGLE REMOVED AMERICAN HERALD TRIBUNE, AN ALTERNATIVE SITE THAT PUBLISHES US AND EUROPEAN WRITERS CRITICAL OF US FOREIGN POLICY. THE BUREAU’S JUSTIFICATION FOR THE REMOVAL WAS DUBIOUS, AND IT SETS A TROUBLING PRECEDENT FOR OTHER CRITICAL OUTLETS.

BY GARETH PORTER
The FBI has publicly justified its suppression of dissenting online views about US foreign policy if a media outlet can be somehow linked to one of its adversaries. The Bureau’s justification followed a series of instances in which Silicon Valley social media platforms banned accounts following consultations with the FBI.

Webmaster's Commentary:

WRH does not communicate on Facebook Instagram, or Twitter, because of the very clear understanding that these strictures have been well in place for quite some time now. They cannot deplatform us, because we are not attempting to communicate there.

And unfortunately, the real threat to US national security right now... comes from the US government itself, in both national and international policies, which is a very sad commentary to have to make at this point on the 21st century.

PENTAGON WAR GAME INCLUDES SCENARIO FOR MILITARY RESPONSE TO DOMESTIC GEN Z REBELLION

SOURCE: THE INTERCEPT
In the face of protests composed largely of young people, the presence of America’s military on the streets of major cities has been a controversial development. But this isn’t the first time that Generation Z — those born after 1996 — has popped up on the Pentagon’s radar.

Documents obtained by The Intercept via the Freedom of Information Act reveal that a Pentagon war game, called the 2018 Joint Land, Air and Sea Strategic Special Program, or JLASS, offered a scenario in which members of Generation Z, driven by malaise and discontent, launch a “Zbellion” in America in the mid-2020s.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is always comforting to understand the degree to which the US military "has the backs": of the already monied, and are more than ready to collectively "relieve themselves" on those whose futures have been already been squandered for the rest of us.

Syrian Kids Hurl Stones at US Military Convoy Trying to Enter Damascus-Held Area - Videos, Photos

US forces remain in Syria despite having no legal basis such an invitation from the government or UN Security Council mandate to carry out operations there. Washington continues to ignore demands by Damascus and members of the international community to withdraw its troops illegally stationed there.

Four armoured US military vehicles were stopped by Syrian Army forces while attempting to cross a checkpoint on the M4 highway in the province of Al-Hasakah near the suburbs of Tall Tamer. The American military convoy was travelling towards the village of Derdara as it tried to cross a sliver of territory in the country's northeast controlled by the Syrian Army, and was forced to turn back.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Can someone logically please tell me what the hell the US troops are still doing in Syria?!?

Drawing Battlelines: US Openly Targets China’s “Belt and Road”

President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the US intelligence community said Tuesday that he would focus on China as the country’s greatest threat, saying Beijing was determined to supplant the United States’ superpower position.

Were China doing this by using news agencies like AFP to lie to the public to justify invading Middle Eastern nations, killing tens of thousands of innocent people, installing client regimes worldwide, and using its growing power to coerce and control nations economically and politically when not outright militarily – US President Donald Trump’s “pick” – John Ratcliffe – might be justified in focusing on China and its “determination” to “supplant the United States’ superpower position.”

However, this is not what China is doing.

China Building Rather than Bombing

Webmaster's Commentary:

The kind of demonization we are seeing, against both China and Russia, is an attempt at "misdirection" by the Powers that Be in this country, to take Americans' collective gaze off of horrific economic and social realities we can see, right in front of our own noses.

Coronavirus Propaganda Mimics War Propaganda

In the period leading up to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, the Bush administration and its media accomplices waged a relentless propaganda campaign to win political support for what turned out to be one of the most disastrous foreign policy mistakes in American history.

So they created a narrative using a mélange of half-truths, faintly plausible fabrications, and outright lies.

Tragically, the American people never placed the burden of proof squarely with the war cheerleaders to justify their absolutely crazed effort to remake the Middle East. In hindsight, this is obvious, but at the time propaganda did its job. Disinformation is part and parcel of the fog of war.

What will hindsight make clear about our reaction to COVID-19 propaganda? Will we regret shutting down the economy as much as we ought to regret invading Iraq?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, I would never want to be a Christian Scientist with appendicitis; that being said, I want to, and will, as long as humanly possible, wait until the "Covid-19 Jab" has been around for a while, and is not killing, or destroying, people's immune systems.

Russian General Warns US, NATO Of ‘Provocative’ Drills Near Border

Russian General Sergei Rudskoi has issued a formal letter to NATO on Monday criticizing them for holding a growing number of military exercises immediately along the Russian borders, and in many cases, directly aimed at Russia.

Russia and NATO tend toward having military exercises on their respective frontiers, which the other side almost always labels as provocative, even though both sides do it. There are clearly differences between defensive training and practicing aggressive operations.

In this case, NATO is preparing for the later. Rudskoi singled out a recent Barents Sea drill in which they were simulating attacks on Russian territory and the seizure of Russian ICBMs. This was the first such NATO drill since the Cold War.

US and British flags in the Barents Sea was seen as particularly jarring for Russia, but officials say they intend it to be the “new normal” With NATO interested in challenging Russia’s claims in the north, this is likely to be a growing concern.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A NATO-generated war against Russia?!?

Let's get serious here.

Look at the historic events of this last weekend, when Spacex's "Dragon" docked with the ISS, and the tremendous amount of technology, and cooperation, which it took to achieve this.

Russian, NASA, and US's Spacex private teams worked tirelessly to achieve this brilliant outcome.

When I see this, and think about what we could accomplish, as a species, through peaceful collaboration, and the only thing NATO can seem to conjure, are military exercises engineered to challenge Russia, I become very doubtful about the future of humankind.

Israeli Defense Minister Preparing for Annexation of West Bank

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Monday that he ordered the military to start preparing for the coming annexation of parts of the West Bank. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans on annexing Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and parts of the Jordan Valley, a plan bound to face backlash from Palestinians. Netanyahu promised to start cabinet talks on annexation on July 1st.

The areas Israel plans to annex reflects the blueprint of President Trump’s “peace plan” that was released in January. The plan was immediately rejected by Palestinians since it includes the annexation of the Jordan Valley and illegal settlements. The plan also includes Israeli-only access roads in the West Bank, and would essentially legitimize apartheid rule.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Years ago, in various posts on this site, I warned Hamas and Fatah that if all they could accomplish was arguing among themselves, the hunk of land that they would get, to be able to establish a functional Palestine, would be smaller than Lichtenstein; now, because of the way the settlements have been engineered, coupled with this annexation, the Palestinians won't even have that, because there are no more contiguous borders for Palestine.

Folks, this "timetable" for annexation is less than one month away; this is most probably going to get ugly before it's a fait accompli.

US Military in Hawaii Working on Trump's 'Super-Duper' Missiles, to Host Space Force Soon

The testing of new weaponry is continuing in the state despite opposition from some locals, who say that military test sites have made the islands a potential target for adversaries of the US.

The Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands (PMRF) located on the Hawaiian island of Kauai will soon be hosting the 293rd Offensive Space Control Squadron of the US Space Force, but will only use the facility's existing capabilities. The squadron will focus on defending US space communication systems from attacks from the outside and conduct electronic warfare in space to disrupt the communications of a potential enemy.

This is not the only important task that the facility is currently doing for the Pentagon. The PMRF is also one of the main testing sites for modern American weapons, specifically missiles, and is used by government agencies and private contractors alike.

China and India Brawl at 14,000 Feet Along the Border

No shots have been fired, as the de facto border code dictates, but the soldiers have fought fiercely with rocks, wooden clubs and their hands in a handful of clashes. In one melee at the glacial lake Pangong Tso, several Indian troops were hurt badly enough that they had to be evacuated by helicopter, and Indian analysts said Chinese troops were injured as well.

Nobody thinks China and India are about to go to war. But the escalating buildup has turned into their most serious confrontation since 2017 and may be a sign of more trouble to come as the world’s two most populous countries increasingly bump up against each other in one of the bleakest and most remote borderlands on earth.

President Trump, unsolicited, stepped in on Wednesday, offering on Twitter to mediate what he called “a raging border dispute.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I can fully understand why both China and India are treating President Trump as though he were Kryptonite; because unfortunately, on both the national and international stages, he has been, throughout much of his first term as President.

But SOMEONE with some geopolitical integrity left (Sergei Lavrov, are you "feelin' me" this morning?!?) needs to be "working the phones" between Beijing and New Delhi, and ratcheting down the tension here, because one stupid blunder on either side could send this region into a smoldering "hot war" in a heartbeat.

Trump Administration Plans $500 Million Arms Sale to Saudi Arabia: Move would give Raytheon licenses to make bombs in Saudi Arabia

The Trump Administration has sent a notification to Congress confirming plans to sell $500 million in weapons to Saudi Arabia in an upcoming round of sales. The plan would include sales of Paveway bombs to the Saudis, and licenses to Raytheon to let them manufacture the bombs directly in Saudi Arabia.

These bombs are part of a 2019 deal in which the Saudis intend to buy 60,000 precision munitions. The deal has continued to face heavy resistance in Congress, in no small part because the Saudis have been committing war crimes with these US-made arms.

Concerns about US culpability in having provided these arms were compounded with the Saudi assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which fueled a substantial political backlash. So far, the Trump Administration has resisted letting Congress block any sales, but each announcement starts the battle anew.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, the Saudi approach in Yemen is assassinating all native Yemenites, particularly women, children, and the medically fragile elderly, so they can own the country.

Mr. President, by signing off on this deal, you are telling the world that you proudly are signing off on Saudi war crimes, courtesy of US enabling; what the hell kind of message do you think this is sending to the world?!?

Are you so "sheltered" by your toadying advisors, that you don't know this is precisely what the Saudi military will do with these munitions?!?

Mr. President, you have both a world of hurt to try to help to heal, both societally and economically, to the country you alledge you actually govern; so can you please attempt to do some positive governing to resolve those issues, before you treat your weapons developers/massive contributors to yet another windfall in weapons profits?!?

Or do you really relish the title of"Merchant of Death in Chief"?!?

China threatens to ATTACK Taiwan: One of Beijing's most senior generals warns the military will use force if there is no other way to stop island becoming independent

Li Zuocheng told Beijing's Great Hall of People today: 'The people's armed forces will take all necessary steps to resolutely smash any separatist plots or actions'

It is very rare for such a senior figure to make such a public threat against Taiwan

Beijing claims Taiwan, but the island democracy refutes it is part of China
It comes as China is cracking down on Hong Kong's democratic powers

China will attack Taiwan if there is no other way of stopping it from becoming independent, one of the country's most senior generals said today.

Li Zuocheng, chief of the Joint Staff Department and member of the Central Military Commission told Beijing's Great Hall of the People: 'If the possibility for peaceful reunification is lost, the people's armed forces will, with the whole nation, including the people of Taiwan, take all necessary steps to resolutely smash any separatist plots or actions.'

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a note of caution here; we do not have the troop strength; the weaponry; the money; or the manufacturing to achieve a positive outcome to a a potential war with China over Taiwan (or Hong Kong, for that matter).

Please; you have some intense domestic wounds to heal, both economically and societally, before you can even contemplate a war with China right now.

And I can guarantee you, sir, that doing so will NOT increase your chances for an electoral victory come this November; this country is too war-scarred, war-weary, and war-sceptical, to think that such a war would even be worth the effort right now, no matter how much China-bashing we see going on in the media today.

Congress Is Poised to Pass Far-reaching Israeli Wish ListCongress is set to pass its most far-reaching bill related to Israel at the height of a national public health emergency.

With the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s passage of the United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2020 last week, the current Congress is now poised to enact with little transparency its most far-reaching bill related to Israel at the height of a national public health emergency.

This MOU, pledging a record-breaking $38 billion for Israel between 2019 and 2028, solidified President Obama’s legacy as the president most munificent to Israel.

S.3176 would authorize $3.3 billion annually in FMF not as a ceiling, as negotiated by the Obama administration, but as a floor. The bill seeks to do so surreptitiously by amending existing statutory authorization for military aid to Israel by replacing an amount “equal to” with “not less than” $3.3 billion annually.

Israel’s Dirty Little Secret
In other words, if this bill were to become law, then Israel could receive even more weapons at US taxpayer expense than envisaged under Obama’s MOU.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, this bill is absolutely, completely wrong-headed, and demonstrates, uncontrovertibly, to the Arab world, that the US is pathologically incapable of being an honest broker in the Middle East, if it ever was able to do that.

As long as this country has one Vet sleeping rough in our streets, this is way to much money to be paying to a "frenemy" like Israel, whose government consistently and collectively "relieves itself" on the American political class, then tells them it's raining.

Trump the “Peace Candidate”: Contemplating War During Pandemic against Two Global Competitors. Nuclear Weapons “Tests” against China and Russia

The Pentagon and national security agencies directed by the White House have also been discussing the viability of engaging in war with those same two global competitors Russia and China, either individually or even simultaneously. Yes, it is true that many countries wargame certain scenarios that are unlikely ever to occur, but there is nevertheless a certain consistency in the bellicosity that comes like an endless stream out of the Trump White House.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I marginally supported President Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016, because he did talk about ending the no-win wars in which the US government had enmeshed its military for years on end, with no resolution in sight.

And I am very supportive of his work to get US troops out of Afghanistan.

But that being said, I loathe it, that he believes that a "male member measuring contest" between himself, President Xi of China, and President Putin of Russia, through an atomic test, is an answer to US security right now, because it is not.

Worse still, such an act by the US may well be quite liable to start a nuclear arms race which could make the potential use of, let's say, a "tactical nuclear weapon" more "acceptible" to the American public, because they don't understand the utter devastation the use of such a weapon can wreak.

And that damage may be utterly unrecoverable.

British mercenaries 'involved in botched operation' backing rebel leader in Libya, according to secret UN report

Six British citizens including two former Royal Marine commandos have been accused of taking part in a botched mercenary mission to Libya to fight on behalf of renegade general Khalifa Haftar.

The five men and one woman are named in a confidential report by the United Nations panel of experts on Libya into a botched mission that ended with the mercenaries making a remarkable sea-borne escape after falling out with their hosts.

The men, including former Royal Marines Sean Callaghan Louw and Andrew Scott Ritchie, were among around 20 mercenaries who travelled to Benghazi in eastern Libya in June 2019 in a contract organised by a UAE based company called Opus, according to the report seen by the Daily Telegraph.

As the report says, UN investigators believe that that they had been hired by General Haftar's Libyan National Army to fly assault helicopters and use fast speedboats to intercept and search merchant vessels ferrying Turkish weapons to Tripoli.

Webmaster's Commentary:

THAT's... an industrial-strength "Oops there!!"

Trump: I Can and Will Start Wars Whenever I Please

President Donald Trump’s May 6 veto of a Senate resolution that would have required him to seek congressional approval for any further military confrontations with Iran demonstrates that, despite his occasional feints toward scaling back foreign intervention, Trump is as much a warmonger as anyone else in Washington. Worse still, his explanation for his veto indicates that he believes presidents have unlimited authority to launch wars, contrary to clear constitutional language.

Authored by James Rickards via The Daily Reckoning,Remember the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong against Chinese authoritarianism?

And U.S.-Chinese relations could get even worse than they are right now.

Are you prepared for a bumpy ride?

Let’s unpack this…

Last year’s protests came in response to a proposed law that would have allowed the extradition of Hong Kong residents to Beijing for trial on charges that arose in Hong Kong.

That would have deprived Hong Kong residents of legal protections in local law and subjected prisoners to torture and summary execution.

The legislation was proposed by Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam, who many consider a puppet of Beijing.

The demonstrations grew exponentially, ultimately involving hundreds of thousands of protesters.

The list of demands also grew to include more democracy and freedom and adherence to Hong Kong’s rule of law.

Due to social media, these protests were seen around the world.

The proposed bill behind the original protests was scrapped last October, which was a victory for the pro-democracy protesters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please; there is nothing you can do directly to assist the people of Hong Kong.

Yes, we understand that you are waging an asymmetric war against China, encouraging separatist movements when you can to run counter to the Communist Party rule.

Xi Jing Pin has just encouraged his military to be ready to immediately "prepare for war" ‘Prepare for war’: China’s Xi Jinping tells army to thwart coronavirus impact on national security The article goes on to state: "Xi Jinping’s speech comes amid rising tension with the US, frequent references by local politicians and diplomats of reunifying Taiwan. Tension is also escalating with India with troops from the two countries clashing along different areas along the 3,488 kilometre-long disputed border."

Mr. President, this is a lousy time to escalate here; we don't have the weaponry; the troop strength; or the manufacturing, in this war-weary, war-skeptical nation. We need to focus on getting this economy opened up, and quickly, and taking care of the people here at home, many of whom have been thrown out of formerly secure work, while major executives have give themselves big bonuses before declaring corporate bankruptcy.

We need to focus on right here, and right now, for as long as you can.

Greece Charges Turkey With 'Land Invasion' After Troops Cross River, Raise Turkish Flag

Via AlmasdarNews.com,

The Greek government recently accused Turkey of seizing some of its territory along its eastern border.

Turkey responded on Saturday by stating that it would not allow de facto borders after Athens complained to Ankara that Turkish forces had seized land at the course of the Evros River that separates the two countries.

A statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry said, “Ankara informed Greece that the river course has changed significantly for natural and artificial reasons, since 1926 when the borders were established, and that the solution requires technical coordination.”

The Daily Mail described of the crisis:

Turkish troops have invaded and occupied a small patch of Greek land Greece on their contested border.

Around 35 soldiers marched on to a floodplain site on the east bank of the River Evros at Melissokomeio yesterday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This justifies a meeting of the UN Security Council just as soon as they can possibly convene; the animosities between Greece and Turkey still smolder, even though there has not been a shooting war between them since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, when Turkey, and Turkish Cypriots, believed that a Greek coup d'etat had taken place there.

IRANIAN OIL TANKERS DEFY US THREATS, ENTER VENEZUELAN WATERS

SOURCE: MIDDLE EAST MONITOR
Iran ignored warnings of retaliation from the US as the first of five Iranian tankers entered Venezuela’s exclusive economic zone on Saturday.

The tanker, named Fortune, reached the Venezuela’s territorial waters at around 7:40 pm after passing north of Trinidad and Tobago in the Carribean, according to vessel-tracking data.

Tareck El Aissami, Venezuela’s economy vice president said: “The ships from the fraternal Islamic Republic of Iran are now in our exclusive economic zone.”

Venezuelan state television showed images of a navy ship and aircraft preparing to meet it.

The defense minister had pledged that the military would escort the tankers once they reached Venezuela’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) due to what authorities described as threats from the United States.

The five tankers are carrying a staggering 1.53 million barrels of gasoline and alkylate to Venezuela, according to both governments, and sources.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am glad that this situation did not devolve into a shooting war yet; President Trump was wise not to carry through with his threats, because considering how badly the Venezuelan economy is going, coupled with a massive spike in Covid 19 cases, such actions would have truly made the US to look like a real bully in the region.

The Defense Department is bracing for a manning gap this year, the Pentagon’s top personnel official told reporters Thursday, after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the services to slow their intake of new troops.

Russia’s newest radar can track 1,000+ fast-moving & HYPERSONIC weapons, and is now available to foreign buyers

Russia once claimed gold in the race for hypersonic dominance after rolling out a range of ultra-fast projectiles. Now it’s offering unique radar protecting against weapons of the same kind – even if they come in huge numbers.
Having unbeatable offensive weapons – for example hypersonic missiles – could be a game-changer in the age of modern, fast-paced warfare. But it’s equally crucial to have something that shields you from those designed or deployed by an adversary.

And Russia’s newest radar station is able to fit the bill, Rosoboronexport, the government agency in charge of arms trade, said this Wednesday. The radar, which is the latest addition to the Protivnik (Adversary) family, is likely to turn a few heads abroad due to its capability to “efficiently detect a wide range of existing and future flying objects, including hypersonic targets.”

Ankara Warns of ‘Serious Consequences’ After Haftar’s Air Force Reveals Plan to Strike Turkish Units

Turkey began sending troops to Libya in January to shore up the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA). Before that, Ankara provided the GNA with military equipment to assist Tripoli in its ongoing campaign against the Tobruk-based government and the Libyan National Army (LNA) of Gen. Khalifa Haftar.

Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy has warned that there would be serious consequences for Gen. Haftar's forces if the Libyan National Army attacked Turkish troops operating in Libya.

"We emphasize once again that in the case of striking our interest in Libya – doing so would lead to serious consequences, and we will consider Haftar’s forces a legitimate target for attack,” Aksoy said, speaking to reporters on Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Since any possibility of "peaceful self-determination" was forcibly removed from the Libyan people by the Obama Administration, and its "cackling cauldron of death", Hillary Rodham Clinton, courtesy of its invasion of Libya, and the assassination of Moamar Ghadaffi, is it any wonder that the country has been in a perpetual state of civil war since this happened, almost 9 years ago in October 2011?!?

And has anyone dared to mention to Turkish warmeister-in-chief, President Edrogan, that Turkish troops in Libya are violating Libya's sovereignty, big-time, simply by their presence here?!?

This is all about who has access to Libyan oil, and the money in which it will be sold, period, end of discussion.

Sjursen: What On Earth Is The US Doing By Bombing Somalia?

Authored by Maj. Danny Sjursen, USA (ret.) via AntiWar.com,

The Trump administration has quietly ramped up a vicious bombing – and covert raiding – campaign in Somalia amid a global coronavirus pandemic. Neither the White House nor the Pentagon has provided any explanation for the deadly escalation of a war that Congress hasn’t declared and the media rarely reports. At stake are many thousands of lives.

The public statistics show a considerable increase in airstrikes from Obama’s presidency. From 2009 to 2016, the U.S. military’s Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced 36 airstrikes in Somalia. Under Trump, it conducted at least 63 bombing raids just last year, with another 39 such attacks in the first four months of 2020. The ostensible US target has usually been the Islamist insurgent group al-Shabab, but often the real – or at least consequent – victims are long-embattled Somali civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This struggle really doesn't have a great deal to do with the "real reason" the US is allegedly in Somalia, i.e., not the presence of the al-Shabab insurgency, but the following:

Somaliland: Sanaag Region New Source of Rare Earth Elements

The struggle in Somalia, has to do with what countries will have the rights to mine these rare earth elements used in a vast array of 21st century technology, but also to which countries these elements will be sold, and in what currency.

Trump’s quest for `super-duper missile' pits US against key rivals

They fly at speeds of a mile a second or faster and maneuver in ways that make them extra hard to detect and destroy in flight.

President Donald Trump calls them a “super-duper missile," though they’re better known as hypersonic weapons. And they are at the heart of Trump administration worries about China and Russia.

The Navy just sent a submarine force into the Western Pacific in a message to China

The Pacific Fleet Submarine Force took the unusual step this month of announcing that all of its forward-deployed subs were simultaneously conducting “contingency response operations” at sea in the Western Pacific — downplaying the notion that Navy forces have been hampered by COVID-19.

The sub force said the missions were mounted in support of the Pentagon’s “free and open Indo-Pacific” policy aimed at countering China’s expansionism in the South China Sea.

At least seven submarines, and likely more — including all four Guam-based attack submarines, the San Diego-based USS Alexandria and multiple Hawaii-based vessels — are part of the effort.

Struggling to Stay Afloat: 21 of 24 Ships at Navy Shipyard Failed to Meet Repair Schedule

The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) watchdog has recommended the US Navy conduct its own analysis of its contracting approach after it was recently determined that ship maintenance schedule outcomes were less than positive and led to unexpected delays.

Despite the Navy shaving down initial price estimates for ship repairs through the implementation of its Multiple Award Contract-Multi Order (MAC-MO) contracting strategy in 2015, the US Navy has observed a number of setbacks from the pilot program, according to a 61-page report released by the GAO on May 11.

“We found that the Navy has lowered costs from initial estimates for ship repair. But that work continues to run over schedule - due, in part, to the extra time it often takes to coordinate funding for additional repairs that may have been expected but could not be quantified when the contract began,” the audit institution noted.

US Headed For Another 'Tanker War' With Iran - This Time Off Venezuela's Coast

Iranian state TV has announced at least five least five Iranian-flagged tankers are transporting fuel to Venezuela through the Atlantic Ocean and plan to break the American blockade on the Latin American country.

Iran has warned that any US attempt at intercepting its fuel tankers "would have serious repercussions for the Trump administration ahead of the November elections."

State-funded PressTV underscores that "Iran is shipping tons of gasoline to Venezuela in defiance of US sanctions on both countries in a symbolic move guaranteed by Tehran’s missile prowess."

Both countries have been targeted under US sanctions and various levels of covert military action of late. President Trump has taken a personal interest in renewed pressure on Maduro, within the past months reportedly pushing his generals to go forward with a 'naval blockade' of the socialist nation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just what those "measures" will be, to prevent a breakage of the blockade.

Back in March, China warned the US not to attempt to change the government ov Venezuela by force China warns of repeating history's mistakes with Venezuela

Of course, the US government didn't listen, but signed off on a disastrous attempt by would-be private Rambos, to attempt to "snatch and abduct" Maduro from his Presidential Palace, and bring him to the US (this attempt to abduct a Constitutionally elected President of a country was done through a signed contract, no less!), and these collective congenital idiots wound up getting caught and interrogated by Venezuelan authorities.

How completely stupid these people were, to believe that this was going to be a "walk in the park", and how stupid were the US governmental officials who signed off on this?!?

The short answer, unfortunately, is, VERY.

But what concerns me deeply here, is that President Trump may well feel he needs some kind of " intense distraction" from the current fallout of his handling of Covid-19, both medically and economically, and he may think that the Venezuelan/Iranian connection is "just the ticket"; so Mr. President, another word, please.

And would someone, cursed with having to read this website daily on the President's staff, PLEASE BREAK THIS CONCEPT DOWN IN SMALL WORDS, SO THE PRESIDENT UNDERSTANDS WHAT I AM SAYING HERE?!?

A year ago last Summer, the following article appeared in the Moscow Times, 26 June, 2019, English language edition:Iran ‘Won’t Be Alone’ If U.S. Attacks, Russian Official Says

The article goes on to state: "“Iran will withstand this type of fight and Iran is not alone,” Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, said at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow."

Mr. President, career Russian politicians like Kabulov do not even pass wind, without Putin's permission; if this statement was made, you can bet your sweet bippy, that this assurance comes straight from Putin, and the one thing for which he is known, both nationally, and internationally, is keeping his word.

Now, this guy is NOT the "poster child" for sainthood; far from it. However, when words come out of the mouths of his spokespeople, you can bet that he has "blessed" the saying of them, as Kabulov did in this summit.

We are NOT in a position, militarily, to pick a fight with Russia right now; and if your military, and those defense contractors who "sit at the table" when you dine, are not telling you this, they are not being honest with you.

You, and your team, need to get this fixed, and pronto.

And Mr. President; please move forward by picking your battles.... carefully.

White House Mulls Returning Cuba To 'State Sponsors Of Terrorism' List "By End Of Year"

Reuters reports based on a Trump administration source that the White House plans to return Cuba to its official list of state sponsors of terrorism, following Obama's 2015 delisting of the country as part of a broader attempt to normalize ties.

Over the past years tensions have soared over Havana's backing socialist Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as well as the outlawed Colombian group ELN. There's of course also the allegations that Cuban intelligence or some other nefarious entity was using super sonic sound waves to sicken US embassy personnel in the recently reopened building in the capital.

It's not a done deal, but appears to be headed that way, Reuters strongly suggests:

There is a “convincing case” that Cuba should be placed back on the U.S. blacklist, in part because of its continued backing for socialist Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the refuge it gives to leaders of Colombia’s ELN rebel group, the official said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This would be the worst thing possible to do with Cuba; but of course, with the US government, just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing it could do, is no guarantee that it will not do it.

State Department: Annexation should be part of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks

Israeli deliberations about annexing parts of the West Bank should be part of discussions between Israel and the Palestinians on the Trump administration’s peace plan, the US State Department’s chief spokesperson said Friday.

The comments by Morgan Ortagus, made during a phone briefing with Israeli reporters, came after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a lightning trip to Jerusalem Wednesday for talks with Israeli leaders on a number of issues.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but has this woman gone completely tone-deaf, blind, and barking dog mad, simultaneously?!?

With the upcoming annexation, there will be utterly no justice, and no peace, for the Palestinian people, period, end of discussion; and the US has enabled this annexation with its blessing of it!!!

Trump's alleged "peace plan" offered absolutely zero, zip, nada, to the Palestinian people, or what passes for its leadership; and that Jared Kushner believed, for a millisecond, that Palestinians would find the offer of increased financial capabilities, over a return to their homeland, as an "attractive deal" very much telegraphs his own absence of reason (and a critically deliberate misunderstanding of the region's history) on this issue as well.

May 17 05:40

Remembering 72 years of the Nakba in the shadow of annexation

When Palestinians commemorate the Nakba - the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948 - they are not simply remembering a past event in which over 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homeland, over 400 villages and towns destroyed and thousands killed.
They are also marking a continued Nakba (al-Nakba al-Mustimirrah in Arabic) - an ongoing process of erasure and ethnic cleansing which has seen Palestinians ghettoised, fragmented, killed and more.

This year we will be marking 72 years of the Nakba and yet one word seems to be taking front and centre stage: annexation. Ever since the announcement of US President Donald Trump's 'Deal of the Century' at the end of January this year, formal annexation of the occupied West Bank by Israel has been looming.

Indeed, it is rumoured that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit to Netanyahu on Wednesday was to give the green light for the annexation of the Jordan Valley.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Since there will be no "two state solution" because of this annexation, the best for which Palestinians can hope, and advocate, (peacefully), is the right to vote, in this new Erez Israel.

And THAT has to happen for the Palestinian people just as quickly as is humanly possible.

Trump says US will beat out Russia and China with 'super duper missile'

Unveiling the flag for his new space force in the Oval Office on Friday, Donald Trump said the US was developing a “super duper missile” to outpace military rivals including Russia and China.

“We have no choice, we have to do it with the adversaries we have out there. We have, I call it the super duper missile and I heard the other night [it’s] 17 times faster than what they have right now,” the president said, sitting at the Resolute Desk.

“That’s right,” said the defense secretary, Mark Esper, standing to Trump’s right.

“You take the fastest missile we have right now,” Trump said. “You heard Russia has five times and China’s working on five or six times, we have one 17 times and it’s just got the go-ahead.”

Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, has indeed announced a hypersonic nuclear missile, meaning one that flies at five times the speed of sound (767mph) or faster.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word please; this is not only about a missile's speed; it is about a missile's programmability, once it has been deployed; so would you like to inform the American people, about how well THAT is going at this moment in time?!?

Having one without the other, is an exercise in futility.

Welcome To The Military-Industrial Pandemic: This is the time, above all others, you can see the special interests trumping national interests.

The parallels between the war in Afghanistan and the Vietnam War are striking. In the Afghanistan Papers that were acquired by the Washington Post, the senselessness of the war is laid bare by U.S. government officials. The papers are reminiscent of the Vietnam-era Pentagon Papers and show that for years, the U.S. government has known that the war in Afghanistan is a costly and deadly exercise in futility. Afghanistan’s terrain, tribal politics, and culture have long thwarted invaders. This is something that the British and the Soviets, to the delight of U.S. officials in 1979, learned the hard way.

US-Backed Forces Seize Syrian Commercial Bank In Oil-Rich Northeast Province

Via AlMasdarNews.com,

U.S.-backed forces have seized a Syrian Commercial Bank branch in the Al-Hasakah Governorate, as they expelled all the employees inside the building and established full control over the site. The Syrian Commercial Bank is the largest commercial bank in Syria and is state-owned, headquartered in Damascus. Since 2011 it's been under US and EU sanctions.

According to a field report, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), alongside the U.S. Coalition, attacked the main building of the Syrian Commercial Bank branch of the government located within the gathering of official departments in the southern section of Ghuweiran District, at the entrance of Al-Zohour neighborhood in Hasakah city.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder at what point Putin will put an end to this US occupation of sections of Syria; very obviously, with this move, the US is attempting to put an economic stranglehold on the country.

US threatens ICC with ‘consequences’ if it acts on war crimes complaint against Israel filed by ‘fake’ Palestinian state

Arguing that Palestine doesn’t “qualify as a sovereign state” and that the International Criminal Court lacks jurisdiction over Israel, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has threatened “consequences” for any “illegitimate” probes.
Following his trip to Israel this week, Pompeo issued a brief statement, denouncing the ongoing efforts by the ICC to investigate allegations of war crimes against Palestinians, including the use of live ammunition against protesters, the demolition and shelling of civilian homes and infrastructure, and forcible relocations as part of Israel’s settlement projects in the occupied territories.

“The United States reiterates its longstanding objection to any illegitimate ICC investigations,” wrote Pompeo, blasting the ICC as “a political body, not a judicial institution,” and arguing that it has no “jurisdiction over Israel, which like the United States, is not a party to the Rome Statute that created the court.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Having a card-carrying "Rapture-centric" individual as one's Secretary of State, can be hazardous to a Nation's reputation, as well as it's future, no matter how much certain US Evangelicals may cheer him.

Neither Israel or the US are signatories to the ICC, because it is understood by the governments of both countries, that they both commit war crimes, in their quests to obtain their geopolitical agendas.

When a man of the reputation, and moral weight, as has South African Anglican Archbishop Emeritus, and Peace Nobel Laureate Bishop Desmond Tutu, makes the observation that Israel has, or may have committed war crimes, I will believe this guy any day over Secretary of State Pompeo, because as a chief architect of South Africa's move from apartheid to a somewhat more representative government for South Africa's Black population (although, unfortunately, the ANC has failed South Africa utterly), the guy knows what the hell he is talking about.

A World Health Crisis? So Ramp Up Confrontation and Deploy Nuclear Bombers against China, Russia, Iran and North Korea

The Pentagon is excelling itself in its enthusiastic march to war. There are countless thousands suffering from the effects of the Covid-19 virus, including hundreds of members of the U.S. armed services, while the world’s despots are relishing their freedom to persecute minorities, and the poor and downtrodden are dying in hideous misery because of starvation and lack of medical care. But the propaganda war against China continues, concurrent with ramping up of anti-China confrontation by Washington in its ongoing deployment of nuclear attack warships and bombers to the Western Pacific and the South China Sea.

The propaganda campaign is intriguing, and although amateur and absurd in content and dissemination its message is believed by many of the millions at whom it is directed.

The Betrayal of the American Soldier

Someday, America’s Afghan Wars – the first was against the Soviet Union, 1979-1989; the second began with the post-9/11 invasion of that country and has never ended – may be seen as follies of an unprecedented sort. Certainly, the wars that invasion set off across the Greater Middle East and Africa helped ensure that a Pentagon incapable of winning anything abroad would nonetheless win the peace at home, big time, taking funds from everything that would end up mattering to Americans. Almost 19 years after that second Afghan War began, another of those infamous “corners” has been turned there, amid yet more Afghan suffering. A recent random coronavirus test of 500 people in Kabul, that country’s capital, produced more than 150 positive results.

US muscle-flexing threatens to open Arctic front in new Cold War with Russia

The US Navy is on the cusp of conducting confrontational freedom of navigation operations in the Arctic that threaten Russian economic and national security interests.

The recent resumption by the US Navy of a Barents Sea Patrol represents muscle-flexing on the part of Washington and its NATO allies unseen since the end of the Cold War.

Three American destroyers and a British frigate, accompanied by a supply ship, ventured into the Arctic body of water last week. The reestablishment of the patrol is part of a larger refocusing of attention by the US and NATO on the Arctic, where warming waters and melting ice have created the possibility of faster sea transits between Europe and Asia and access to natural resources which were previously viewed as cost-prohibitive due to heavy ice conditions.

F-35’s Nuclear Weapons Upgrade Delayed as Program Costs Top $1.6 Trillion

The F-35 Lightning II’s Block 4 upgrade, which will allow the stealth aircraft to carry nuclear weapons, has been delayed by at least nine months. The F-35 is slated to become the primary nuclear strike aircraft for several US allies. Meanwhile, costs for the program have soared above $1.6 trillion.

According to a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), a congressional watchdog agency, the F-35’s planned Block 4 upgrade has been delayed by nine months, pushing the plane’s full-rate production decision back to sometime between September 2020 and March 2021.

While Block 4 will integrate a number of new weapons into the F-35’s repertoire, such as Naval Strike Missile, the Meteor and SPEAR missiles and several laser-guided bombs, by far the most consequential weapon is the B61 nuclear gravity bomb, which is small enough to fit inside the F-35’s internal weapons bay.

On The Battleground Of The Virus, The Fox Laughs Last

Authored by Alastair Crooke via The Strategic Culture Foundation,

Today, there are two irreconcilable visions of American life. After 1992, the two parties alternated presidents every eight years. Yet, with each succeeding administration, the political milieu has grown yet more rancorous and divided. There is no relationship between parties now — save as sworn enemies, Vlahos observes.

In this context of a ‘nation fissured’, the U.S. military have issued some catchy posters, urging national unity and the wearing of face-masks. (They can be seen here). And they all crib a notably nostalgic WW2 style: “It’s a woman’s war too”; “Fight the spread of coronavirus”, and “Let’s all fight” (as a GI lunges forward, in attack mode, his gleaming bayonet fixed).

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a question which no one in the White House seems to want to answer, with this "blaming China" meme regarding the origin of Covid 19; at what point will the Chinese leadership believe that they are going to have to "do something" to save face (a big thing in Asian cultures), and what will that "something" be?!?

And let's get real; the economy was tanking far before the first diagnosed cases of Covid 19 appeared; it just took countries' responses to this, to push the world economy on its head into near-collapse.

Pompeo, Netanyahu ‘two mobsters’ plotting Palestine’s eradication: Analyst

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit to Israel to discuss the Zionist regime’s planned annexation of the West Bank region with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is like the gathering of two “mobsters” plotting to eradicate Palestinians from their indigenous homeland, says an American political analyst.

Rodney Martin, a former congressional staffer based in Arizona, made the comment during a phone interview with Press TV on Monday, while commenting on an announcement by the US State Department that Pompeo will visit the occupied territories on Wednesday to discuss “regional security issues” linked to “Iran’s malign influence” as well as the Israeli annexation of much of the West Bank.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately the guy is entirely correct in his assessment here.

Palestinians have, for far too long, been "saddled" with leadership which would neither lead, or work to achieve some kind of status for Palestinians, other than being "the others" in Israeli-occupied Palestinian land, enriching themselves in the process.

A number of years ago I posted that if Palestinian leadership continued arguing among themselves, if there was ever a Post-Balfour Declaration of an actual state of Palestine, it wouldn't be even the size of Lichtenstein; now even that possibility has been completely destroyed, and the US "blessing' for this annexation is not helpful in any way.

And could someone please explain to me precisely how this "malign Iranian influence" could possibly hurt Israel's security, in any way, shape, or form?!? Israel is a nuclear armed nation, with one of the most impressive military and weaponry capabilities in the world, for heaven's sake!!

Iran is not a threat here; in fact, many Iranian Jews living there do not want to "make aliyah" to Israel, because they are perfectly content to be where they are. Celebrating Sabbath With Iran's Jewish Minority

The only "threat" here, is economic, and definitely not existential, between Israel and Iran. Netanyahu could, should he feel like it, create a peace and trade treaty with the government in Tehran, and come home to a hero's welcome, but that won't happen until pigs fly; unfortunately, the Israeli government loves to create an atmosphere of fear among their citizens, belligerently reminding them in no uncertain terms, that there are always things to be feared from their Muslim neighbors, particularly the Iranians.

Israel's grudge with Iran has to do with it having not only survived the 1979 revolution, but actually thriving economically, in spite of US-engendered sanctions.

Trump Regime Blocks UN Security Council Resolution for “Global Ceasefire” During COVID-19 Epidemic

Run by warlord members from both right wings of the one-party state, the US geopolitical agenda prioritizes permanent wars against invented enemies to enforce their will on humanity by brute force and other hostile actions.

At a time when containing COVID-19 outbreaks and combatting the severest economic collapse in modern memory matter most, the Trump regime blocked a proposed global ceasefire Security Council resolution to assure no interference in its imperial wars on humanity.

Russia strongly supports what Trump regime hardliners oppose, Kremlin UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia saying the following:

“In view of the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation is urging all parties to regional armed conflicts to immediately stop hostilities, secure a ceasefire, and introduce a humanitarian pause,” adding:

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder, in the face of all these US-generated wars, and a national debt big enough to choke a horse, if the US will balkanize, and bits and pieces go their own way peacefully.

Everything has a life cycle, even governmental systems; ours has become broken; corrupt; highly immoral; and doesn't really give a damn what its citizens think about its actions.

The word that comes to mind is "accountability"; at this point in its devolution, the only "accountability" this government has is to the thoroughly monied, and the war machine which supports it.

At 71, I am very tired of being a citizen of a country which finds it pathologically incapable of not creating war crimes in those areas of the world it has "neutralized", in order to extract the wealth from those areas, and have that wealth sold only for US dollars.

The cycle is painfully clear to see, for anyone with even half a brain; but what is also clear to me is that the empire of the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, is coming to a screeching halt in the not too terribly distant future.

The big question is, how will it unravel?!? And that... is where US citizens, particularly the "adults in the room" need to sit up, and take notice. How are you going to work, take care of your kids, and give them the future you want to see them be able to achieve and accomplish, when everything breaks down?!?

I would politely suggest that the time to consider these issues, and the coming crisis regarding American identity... is now.

Holy Land: Heads of Churches Voice Concern About Israel’s Planned Annexation of West Bank Land

As a result of the stagnation of the Peace Process in the Middle East between the Israelis and Palestinians, an array of plans for Israel to unilaterally annex West Bank land, backed mainly by right-wing factions, raises serious and catastrophic questions about the feasibility of any peaceful agreement to end the decades’ long conflict, one that continues to cost many innocent lives as part of a vicious cycle of human tragedy and injustice.

The Council of Patriarchs and Heads of the Holy Land Churches views such unilateral annexation plans with the utmost concern and calls upon the State of Israel to refrain from such unilateral moves, which would bring about the loss of any remaining hope for the success of the peace process.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think it was very brave, indeed, for these men to sign their names to this document; both brave, and extraordinarily naive.

And I say this because, throughout its history, Israel has shown no genuine appetite for peace, whatsoever, but only for territory, and by any means necessary.

When this annexation happens, look for massive Palestinian deaths and maimings at the hands of Israel's IDF; their sharpshooters are among some of the best in the world at blowing up childrens' limbs, killing them outright, or maiming them in such a way that they will never fully recover, no matter whether or not they were innocent of any alleged "crime".‘I remember the knee in the crosshairs, bursting open’ – Israeli snipers boast of shooting ‘ducks’ in Gaza

To the Palestinians whose lands are being annexed, you must begin to (peacefully) demand the right to vote in Israel; because without the vote, in these new areas of Israel, you will have zero say in the decisions which will affect your daily lives, and those of your kids.

Report: Child soldiers deployed to Libya by Turkish-backed Syrian National Army

Factions of the Turkish-backed opposition Syrian National Army are recruiting minors to fight in Libya, according to a report laying out in exhaustive detail Turkey’s use of Syrian rebels to prop up Libya’s Government of National Accord.

The 40-page document, prepared by Syrians for Truth and Justice and shared exclusively with Al-Monitor, cites sources on the ground in Syria and in Libya who say Syrian teenagers have been recruited and are part of their units in the battlefield. The report will be published Monday by the nonpartisan not-for-profit organization, which documents human rights abuses in Syria.

The children are among well over 2,000 Syrian rebels believed to have been deployed over the past year via Turkey in support of the Government of National Accord against the eastern warlord Khalifa Hifter, who is backed by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The recruiting of child soldiers is another very sick practice, which should also be banned internationally.

Teenagers should be getting an education; not carrying rifles with which to defend empires, period, end of discussion!!

War in Yemen forces more girls into child marriage

An extraordinary case of child marriage in Yemen has highlighted the rising number of forced, underage weddings. In rare instances, women have managed to fight back, reports Safia Mahdi from Sana'a.

When 12-year-old Hind visited her father in jail a few months ago, he told her she was to marry a fellow inmate. Her groom, 30, had been sentenced to death for drug smuggling and possession, but they would get married anyway, she was told.

When Hind's mother managed to get a court order cancelling the marriage contract, her story became one of the rare cases of reprieve in Yemen, where the rate of child marriage is rising rapidly.

There is still no clear law regulating the minimum age for marriage in Yemen and many girls are forced to marry at ages considered too young to allow for their consent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Child marriage is one of the worst forms of child abuse inflicted on young girls, and should be universally banned.

CHINESE, INDIAN TROOPS ENGAGE IN 150-STRONG BORDER BRAWL WITH FISTFIGHTS AND STONE THROWING, DELHI SAYS

The Indian army has said that its troops engaged in a mass brawl with Chinese soldiers at a remote mountainous border output, resulting in multiple minor injuries.

The fight—involving some 150 people, according to the Press Trust of India—broke out at a border post in a strategically important mountain pass near Tibet on Saturday, AFP reported.

The two nations share a contested border around 2,520 miles long, which winds through some of the most inhospitable terrain on Earth and is a point of regular dispute. In 1962, the two nations fought a war over the border disagreement.

Saturday's confrontation took place in the Naku La sector of the border, close to the Nathu La crossing in the northeastern state of Sikkim, which sits at an altitude of some 15,000 feet.

Indian army eastern command spokesperson Mandeep Hooda said: "Aggressive behaviour by the two sides resulted in minor injuries to troops. It was stone-throwing and arguments that ended in a fistfight."

Webmaster's Commentary:

To Beijing and New Dehli, please; this is the last confrontation this planet needs right now.

I would like to hope that some "adults in the room" on both sides of the border issue can, and will, prevail, doing this border resolution with intelligent, "win/win", honorable negotiations from both sides.

Both countries are imminently capable of this kind of decent behaviour; why not start here and now?!?

US sets up new military base in Syria’s oil-rich Dayr al-Zawr: Report

The United States has reportedly established a new military base in Syria’s oil-rich eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr after bringing in reinforcements to the war-torn Arab country.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) quoted reliable sources as saying on Friday that the new US base is located in Day al-Zawr’s al-Jazrat area.

The US-based monitoring group reported that more than 300 trucks, carrying ammunition, weapons, military and logistical supplies, had entered Syria over the past few days and that most of those trucks headed to al-Jazrat.

It further said the US forces are expanding their base in the al-Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Dayr Al -Zawr.

Recently, it added, American soldiers and other US-led coalition troops had arrived at the base.

Washington runs several military bases in Syria, mainly in northern and eastern regions where the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are operating.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF in fact these reports are true, one has to wonder just how long Russia's Putin will allow this nonsense to continue before something dramatic happens here, and US troops are "cheek to jowl" with Russian troops on the ground in Syria.

And please remember; Russia has weapons and munitions which actually do work as advertised.

VENEZUELA: TRUMP’S FAILED MINI-BAY OF PIGS FIASCO

SOURCE: KURT NIMMO
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo—the former CIA director who admitted the US government lies, cheats, and steals—wants you to believe the Trump neocon-infused administration had nothing to do with the failed coup plot in Venezuela.

Standard Pontius Pilate response. Of course, the US government and its private sector “partners” in the subversion business (in this case, Silvercorp USA) are behind this miniaturized Bay of Pigs operation.

The fall guy is Jordan Goudreau, “a former member of the US Army special forces” who has, according to the BBC, “been quick to claim an association” with the captured US mercenaries.

As should be expected, the BBC watered down the significance of the event by characterizing it as a “speedboat incursion.”

From the UPI:

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wish that the government of the country of which I am a citizen could possibly, please, stop lying to its people and the world; of course, that has not been, nor is it likely in the future, that the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika will do such a thing.

And folks, please remember; just because something would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing this government could possibly do, is utterly no guarantee that it will not do it; there is no real plausible deniability here, and the White House knows this, so they are desperately trying to change the subject.

UN RAPPORTEUR ON TORTURE ‘SCARED TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OUR DEMOCRACIES’ AFTER DELVING INTO ASSANGE CASE

SOURCE: RT
Discovering that the cruelty visited on Julian Assange by Western democracies had been premeditated has heightened the fear of learning more about how those democracies operate, the UN’s rapporteur on torture has admitted.
For years Nils Melzer has been researching on behalf of the UN just how vile and degrading the mistreatment of prisoners can become. But learning that states that are supposed to be champions of human rights can be as brutal as any other with people who cross them was quite a shock. The case that made Melzer reassess his beliefs is that of Julian Assange, who, he says, had signs of "prolonged psychological torture" while in the UK.

“First I was shocked that mature democracies could produce such an accident. Then I found out it was no accident. Now, I am scared to find out about our democracies…” the UN official tweeted on Sunday, marking a year since his visit to check on Assange at the UK’s Belmarsh top security prison.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reason why Assange is still in prison, and subjected to psychological torture, is that he embarrassed the US government; nothing more, nothing less.

And remember; nothing Wikileaks has ever published, has ever been successfully and logically refuted.

Forgetting someone? WH attributes victory over Nazis to ‘America & UK’ in bizarre VE-Day message, gets schooled on Twitter

The White House has marked the victory over Nazi Germany in a tweet hailing the role of the US and the UK, while leaving out the nation that sacrificed the most – the Soviet Union. Netizens were quick to provide a history lesson.
“On May 8, 1945, America and Great Britain had victory over the Nazis!” the White House said in a message posted on its official Twitter handle late Friday, complete with footage of a wreath-laying ceremony to mark the occasion.

PROJECT DAY LILY

Project Day Lily is based on the events surrounding "Gulf War Syndrome" suffered by over 200,000 veterans (and tens of thousands dead) and their family members without proper acknowledgment or treatment to keep secret the origin of their illnesses. This is the true story of the discovery of a biological agent in veterans' blood by two American scientists as part of a massive testing program in the military and prisons and how various academic and government employees did everything in their power to keep this information secret, including murder.

The Science Of Fear: How The Elites Use It To Control Us & How To Break Free

Authored by Mac Slavo via SHTFplan.com,

Fear is one of the most powerful tools the elites have at their disposal. Using the mainstream media, politicians and others who want world domination can inject fear into the public at the drop of a hat, making them easy to manipulate and control.

Aristotle once said: “He who has overcome his fears will truly be free.” Fear is a powerful weapon, and it’s been used globally for the past few months. People have shown that the instant the media tells them to live a life scared in their homes, they will comply in order to “stay safe.” Whether the virus is real or not, is not the point. The elitists must keep the public in a constant state of panic in order to control them. Unafraid and compassionate people are impossible to control.

Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, the propaganda was injected into schools to eliminate critical thinking.

Senate fails to override Trump's veto of Iran war resolution that would have curbed his ability to launch a strike

The Senate on Thursday failed to override President Donald Trump's veto of an Iran war powers resolution that would have curbed his ability to launch a military strike against that country.

In a 49-to-44 vote, supporters fell short of the two-thirds supermajority needed to overturn Trump's veto, which came Wednesday evening. The resolution would have barred Trump from using military force against Iran without explicit congressional authorization.

In his veto statement, Trump called the resolution "very insulting" and leveled unexpectedly harsh criticism at Republicans who supported it. He argued that Democrats were using the issue to divide the GOP in an election year.

US B-1B Bombers Again Fly Near Chinese Airspace Amid 'New Cold War' Threat

It goes without saying that US-China relations have reached their lowest point in decades, with a former Trump administration trade official warning the spike in tensions brought on by the corona crisis on the heels of the trade war has marked "the start of a new Cold War".

Former top White House trade negotiator Clete Willems told CNBC's Squawk Box Asia on Tuesday: “The reality is that tensions between the United States and China are rising considerably at the moment.”

“I know people get uncomfortable with the terminology, but I do think we have to be honest and call this what it is and this is the start of a new Cold War and if we’re not careful, things could get much, much worse,” Willems added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is stupidly childish, on the part of the US government and the Trump Administration; we don't have the weaponry or troop strength to prevail in an all-out military confrontation with China, which most likely, Russia will join on China's side.

It appears that the current administration, rather than really taking an intelligent look at the existing problems in government and trade, and trying to fix them, has decided to "blame everything on China", including its underwhelming, and thoroughly misaligned, response to the Covid 19 crisis.

Right now, the most terrifying words any American could hear in their worst nightmares, are "We're from the Federal Government, and we are here to help you!!."

The current administration had no plan, other than lockdown, which assisted in the utter destruction of an already fragile economy, and a race for a cure, no matter how rife such a cure might be with horrific side-effects, which will soon be "mandated" for all Americans, if one wants to work, go to school, or have your kids attend school.

Space Force unveils first ad in push to attract recruits

The U.S. Space Force has unveiled its first advertisement in a push to attract recruits.

The new 30-second ad opens with a wide shot of man looking off to the sky as a narrator says, “Some people look to the stars and ask, ‘What if?’”

“Our job is to have an answer,” the narrator continues as shots flash of military personnel on the ground and in outer space. “We have to imagine what would be imagined, plan for what’s possible while it’s still impossible.”

“Maybe you weren’t put here just to ask the questions. Maybe you were put here to be the answer. Maybe your purpose on this planet isn’t on this planet,” the narrator goes on to add.

DARPA's next robot warship looks suspiciously like an Imperial Star Destroyer

As if you needed more proof that the U.S. military is absolutely a part of the Galactic Empire and not the Rebel Alliance: the Pentagon is eyeing a new robot warship that looks like something straight out of a galaxy far, far away.

A new project within the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is currently working to advance the Navy's broad goal of fielding a fleet of unmanned surface vessels to counter Russia and China on the high seas, C4ISRNet reports.
