Pence Goes to War: America Will be Fighting Forever

Most media commentary on the speech was either shocked or pleasantly surprised by Pence’s prediction that the graduating officers would soon be at war. He said

Webmaster's Commentary:

In order to feed soldiers into these upcoming wars, a draft will almost certainly have to be reinstated in the US.

And this time, the US military will not be coming only for your sons; they will be coming for your daughters as well.

I don't know what the Vegas odds are on this, but I would imagine, that they are getting higher by the hour.

Convenient “Tanker Attacks” as US Seeks War with Iran

“…it would be far more preferable if the United States could cite an Iranian provocation as justification for the airstrikes before launching them. Clearly, the more outrageous, the more deadly, and the more unprovoked the Iranian action, the better off the United States would be. Of course, it would be very difficult for the United States to goad Iran into such a provocation without the rest of the world recognizing this game, which would then undermine it.” (emphasis added)

– Brookings Institution, “Which Path to Persia?” 2009

All Too Convenient

This news of “attacked” oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz blamed by the US on Iran – comes all too conveniently on the heels of additional steps taken by Washington to pressure Iran’s economy and further undermine the Iranian government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder why the US and Israel continue to trot out the same old "game plans" which had worked so well as the justifications for former wars, like the war in Viet Nam, Iraq, or Afghanistan, but cannot possibly work now?!?

Well, let's say that President Bush's regime changed all of that.

And the reality is that, ever since President Bush went on his savage media campaign against Saddam Hussein and Iraq, lying to Americans and the world, that Hussein had "weapons of mass destruction", which Bush absolutely knew were not there, thinking Americans could no longer believe or trust anything this government says.

Thinking Americans understand that what drives the trajectory of US foreign policy, is its ability to expropriate foreign resources, to which it has absolutely no moral right; insure that the government of that country is "US/Western centric", and that those resources are only sold in US dollars.

So, there you have it, very neatly and simply packaged.

And until, and unless, the US loses another major war, this will simply keep continuing,no matter the utterly ruinous costs to our country.

The American people have absolutely zero choice, because no matter how many times we vote in national elections, our two Presidential candidates have been thoroughly vetted by the military industrial complex, the large corporations which have "specific expectations" about what they will get, by going along along with one of the two candidates.

So we vote, yet absolutely nothing changes, except the locales of the wars; the catastrophic slip in most of our standards of living; the infrastructure is left to crumble; our Vets wind up sleeping rough in our sleep; our "education system" is complete rubbish, and families living in their cars, have become the "new normal".

Welcome to the 21st Century's Unhinged, Surveilled, State of Amerika.

Saudi Arabia says it has stepped up readiness level, committed to supply oil markets

Khalid al-Falih condemned the strikes against the tankers — one of which carried methanol from Saudi Arabia — in the Gulf of Oman, which followed an attack last month on four vessels, including two Saudi oil tankers, off the United Arab Emirates.

He said the energy ministry of the world’s top oil exporter and state oil giant Aramco had raised the level of readiness to deal with “such aggressive terrorist acts” and reaffirmed the kingdom’s commitment to the reliable supply of oil to international markets, the state news agency SPA said.

American and Saudi officials have blamed Iran for the May 12 sabotage of tankers off the UAE’s Fujairah bunkering hub that lies outside the Strait of Hormuz, a charge Tehran denies.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States has assessed, based on intelligence, type of weapons used and level of expertise needed, that Iran is responsible for Thursday’s attacks on tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Khalid al-Falih,and Secretary of State Pompeo, until you have some tangible proof, other than a grainy video a 10 year old child could have shot, you have utterly nothing with which to accuse Iran on this.

Libya parliament chief allied to Haftar rules out talks before Tripoli captured

CAIRO/TRIPOLI (Reuters) - The head of the Libyan parliament aligned with eastern forces trying to seize the capital from the internationally-backed government said on Thursday there could be no peace talks until they had captured the city.

Forces led by Khalifa Haftar launched an offensive on Tripoli in early April but the assault has stalled in the face of resistance from local armed groups aligned with the U.N.-recognised government there.

Haftar and his backers say they are trying to free the capital from militias which they blame for destabilising Libya since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in a NATO-backed uprising in 2011.

Haftar’s critics accuse him of trying to seize power through force and deepening a conflict between factions based in the east and west of the sprawling North African country.

The campaign on Tripoli has left at least 653 dead and displaced more than 93,000, according to the United Nations, as well as causing extensive material damage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This... is all about Libya's oil, and in which country's denomination it will be sold.

Haftar's conquest of Tripoli, will definitely put him, and his troops, in the "driver's seat", in terms of setting up those oil valuations, and accepted currencies.

TEAM OF AMERICAN HACKERS AND EMIRATI SPIES DISCUSSED ATTACKING THE INTERCEPTSam Biddle, Matthew Cole

OPERATIVES AT A controversial cybersecurity firm working for the United Arab Emirates government discussed targeting The Intercept and breaching the computers of its employees, according to two sources, including a member of the hacking team who said they were present at a meeting to plan for such an attack.

The firm, DarkMatter, brought ex-National Security Agency hackers and other U.S. intelligence and military veterans together with Emirati analysts to compromise the computers of political dissidents at home and abroad, including American citizens, Reuters revealed in January. The news agency also reported that the FBI is investigating DarkMatter’s use of American hacking expertise and the possibility that it was wielded against Americans.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised at this revelation; both the US and the UAE want to slam down logical and peaceful dissent, in order to drive their collective governments' agenda.

Russia Sees Through Trump’s Iran Bluster, but Has Middle East Problems of Its Own

By trying to isolate Russia and Iran, the US is only isolating itself.

President Donald Trump won’t go to war with Iran. That was the prediction of Russian experts I interviewed in Moscow during the height of the US-Iran crisis in May. They were right.

To date, Trump has threatened military action against North Korea, Venezuela, and Iran. But, while he has caused tremendous damage to ordinary people with tariffs and economic sanctions, he hasn’t started any new wars. Countries around the world can now, after two years of Trump, distinguish between genuine military aggression and bluster.

But Ivan Konovalov, head of the Center for Studies of Strategic Trends, notes that each country has its own political, military, and economic interests in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Netanyahu pushes a "false flag" in the Persian Gulf or beyond against Iran, Trump's hands may well be tied in trying to get out of it, without a war against it.

House Panel Approves $733 Billion Military Bill, Drops Low-Yield Nukes

The House Armed Services Committee has passed a $733 billion version of the annual military spending bill. The vote was 33-24, largely along party lines, and will send this version to the House floor for a vote.

Once the House passes a version of this bill, it must be reconciled with the Senate version. That’s going to be a big job this year, as there are some major differences in the bills on some key subjects of debate.

One of the biggest issues is the question of low-yield nuclear weapons. The House bill ends funding for the low-yield nuclear missiles, and bars their deployment. A last minute Republican amendment in committee to preserve the weapons failed.

Low-yield nukes are intended by the Pentagon to be more usable, tactical weapons, that would have a much lower threshold for deployment. This was the source of support among hawks, but also the source of much opposition, concern that more usable nukes would usher in an era where nuclear warfare is more routine.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Normalizing the use of ANY nuclear weapons, is utterly obscene.

Why would Iran attack two tankers near the Strait of Hormuz?

In a brief press conference Thursday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed no doubt about who attacked two tankers in the Gulf of Oman, saying Iran was “responsible for the attacks.”

He did not, however, immediately offer any proof of the intelligence behind that assessment.

The attack certainly bears the hallmark and capabilities of previous aggressive actions undertaken by Iran and its paramilitary cohorts in the Persian Gulf.

But questions abound over who actually stands to benefit most from an attack in a region beset by violence and convoluted proxy conflicts raged between and Iran and Saudi Arabia and its allies.

Was the attack carried out by Iran, or other Gulf States seeking to sow conflict ? or did the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps operate outside of Tehran’s directives to further its own agenda?

Webmaster's Commentary:

the short answer is, they wouldn't

Iran's Air Defence Chief: 'We Are Warning the Enemy…Move as Far Away As You Can From Our Border

Strained relations between Washington and Tehran got worse last month after the US parked a carrier strike group in the Arabian Sea and built up its presence in the Middle East while accusing Iran of involvement in the sabotage of four tankers off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.

Iranian Air Defence Force commander Brig. Gen. Alireza Sabahifard has urged Tehran's adversaries to keep their distance from the country's frontiers.

"We are warning the enemy: there is no safe zone for extraterritorial military aircraft in Iranian skies... Even approaching Iran's borders would be met with a strong response. Thus, I advise you to move as much away [from Iran's borders] as you can," the commander said, as quoted by PressTV.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately for General Sabahifard, the reason the US and aligned forces have kept a respectful distance, is that optics demand a far greater "false flag" to be blamed on Iran, than what has happened recently.

Iranian Mission to UN 'Categorically Rejects' US Claims Regarding Gulf of Oman Attacks

In a Thursday statement, Iran's mission to the United Nations announced the country rejects the US claim that Tehran was responsible for attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman earlier in the day.

"Iran categorically rejects the US unfounded claim with regard to 13 June oil tanker incidents and condemns it in the strongest possible terms," reads the mission statement.

Tehran's remarks follow US Central Command's deployment of the US Navy destroyer USS Mason to the Gulf of Oman after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo labeled Iran responsible for torpedo attacks on the oil tankers Kokuka Courageous and Front Altair.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So now, we have the USS Bainbridge, and the USS Mason heading over to the Gulf of Oman?!?

Israel strikes Gaza for 2nd night in response to rocket fire (VIDEO)

The IDF has struck “terrorist targets” in the Gaza Strip for the second night in a row. The strikes were launched in retaliation for rocket fire from the enclave which reportedly hit a Jewish educational facility in Sderot.
The strikes on early Friday morning reportedly targeted at least two locations around Gaza City, in the vicinity of the airstrikes Israel has conducted a day earlier. Following the initial air strikes, the IDF artillery fired two shells east of Rafah in the southern Strip, a Wafa correspondent reports, noting that it is difficult to assess the casualties or damage yet.

Oil Prices Spike After Gulf of Oman Tanker Incident

Oil prices spiked on Thursday after two vessels were seemingly attacked in the Gulf of Oman, one of the world’s most important shipping lanes.

Fears of military conflict between Washington and Tehran in the aftermath of the incident involving The Front Altair and the Kokuka Courageous tankers sent the oil price up over 4.5%, with Brent crude hitting $62.64 per barrel and US crude touching $53.45, dragging oil away from the five-month lows struck last night.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was perfectly predictable, given the tensions in the region.

US sends destroyer to Gulf of Oman tanker incident site as Pentagon says ‘no interest’ in new war

The US has dispatched another warship to the Gulf of Oman, but says it has “no interest” in engaging in a new Middle East conflict. The State Department accused Iran of attacking two tankers there, which Tehran denies.
Guided missile destroyer USS Mason will join the destroyer USS Bainbridge on station near the Kokuka Courageous, a damaged tanker just outside the Persian Gulf, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Thursday, adding that “Iranian small boats” were spotted in the area.

No interference with USS Bainbridge, or its mission, will be tolerated.

The Florida-based combat command called the attacks on tankers “a clear threat to international freedom of navigation and freedom of commerce.”

"We have no interest in engaging in a new conflict in the Middle East,” CENTCOM added. “We will defend our interests, but a war with Iran is not in our strategic interest, nor in the best interest of the international community.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

And we have a sister article, also from rt.com on the incident, and the dispatching of the USS Bainbridge. And notice regarding the Bainbridge, the following statement is made: " No interference with USS Bainbridge, or its mission, will be tolerated."

Folks, I don't know about you, but to me, this telegraphs that something wicked this way comes, courtesy of those whose responsibility it is for creating false flags in both the US and Israel. I don't know how long it will take the USS Bainbridge to reach its destination, but I would expect that shortly before this happens, we will be looking at another incident, to blame again on Iran.

And the title of this companion article is Backing Pompeo's ‘Gulf of Tonkin’ incident is a massive anti-Iran online propaganda campaign

And it goes on to state: "Twitter has announced that it is removing 4,779 accounts associated or backed by Tehran, the latest strike in the ongoing anti-Iran campaign perfectly timed to coincide with the attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was already blaming Iran hours after the incident, offering not a shred of proof aside from a few other dubious incidents in the Middle East that the US has previously pinned on Iran, without evidence.

Even the mainstream media has initially been reluctant to take his word for it, mostly because the narrative is so improbable. Japan's PM Shinzo Abe was in Tehran, promising to use his "utmost effort" to de-escalate tensions, when as if on cue, a Japanese ship was hit along with a Norwegian vessel."

I am almost certain, that something horrific is going to happen on, or right before, the USS Bainbridge reaches the Persian Gulf; the next couple of days should tell the tale.

SAUDIS RELEASE DRAMATIC VIDEO OF "IRAN-ORDERED" HOUTHI MISSILE ATTACK ON AIRPORT TERMINAL

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE
Amid fast escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf surrounding Thursday morning's mysterious "attacks" on two tankers which US officials are already blaming on Iran, Saudi Arabia has released CCTV footage of this week's previously reported Yemeni Houthi missile attack on a civilian airport terminal in the southern part of the kingdom.

"The Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia, through its media, claimed full responsibility for this terrorist act using a cruise missile – as they claim- which constitutes a clear recognition and full responsibility for the targeting of civilians and civilian places that are subject to special protection under international humanitarian law, this may amount to a war crime,” a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition, Col. Turki al-Malki, said in an official statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's do something amazing, and actually think, for a moment, can we please?!?

What is the logic of an Iranian move like this, when its leadership is desperately attempting to stave off potential attacks from Israel; Saudi Arabia; and the US?!?

The short answer is, there is zero logic in this move; and although Iranian leadership may be many things, stupid... is not one of them.

US WIPES OUT AFGHAN SECURITY FORCES UNIT IN MAJOR FRIENDLY FIRE INCIDENT

SOURCE: ANTIWAR.COM
By Jason Ditz
For the second time in less than a month, US forces carried out airstrikes “in self defense” in Afghanistan, only to discover that they were actually attacking Afghan security forces. The Wednesday strike ended up wiping out an entire unit, though officials have yet to disclose the exact number of deaths, beyond it apparently being everyone present.

The previous attack saw US ground troops believing they were under fire, and the warplanes attacking police, killing 18. In this case, too, US officials said they believed the troops came under fire, and the airstrikes targeted the Afghan forces, who had been firing machine guns.

Despite all the talk of self defense and US troops being “under effective fire,” officials insist not a single US casualty occurred. US officials expressed “regret” for the deaths of Afghan partners.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is TWICE within a period of less than 30 days; what the devil is wrong with our military in Afghanistan, when this becomes "The New Normal"?!?!

Netanyahu Vows More Preemptive Attacks Against SyriaSays Israel will attack in a 'systematic and consistent manner'

Following Syrian reports that they’d foiled an Israeli attack near the Golan Heights, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to launch even more preemptive attacks against Syria into the future.

Netanyahu said Israel was facing “unending” tests, and that they would continue to attack in a “systematic and consistent manner” to ensure that Syria never establishes any capability to threaten Israel.

In practice Israel has been attacking targets in Syria on a regular basis for months now, and indeed has spent much of the Syrian War feigning neutrality while backing rebel groups, and attacking pro-government forces on every pretext, and often with no pretext at all.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just how long Russia is going to put up with this nonsense, before it hits back, or threatens Israel in such a way, that it cannot refuse Russia's desire for Israel to stop these attacks?

US Senate Upholds Arms Sales to Bahrain and Qatar

In two surprising votes held on Thursday, the Senate rejected bills by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) to block US arms sales to Bahrain and Qatar. The Bahrain vote was 43-56, and the Qatar vote was 42-57.

Sen. Paul has been leading pushes against selling US arms to countries with authoritarian governments. In Thursday’s comments he declared that “dumping more weapons into the Middle East won’t get us any closer to peace.” He also urged the US to “stop sending arms to people who abuse human rights.”

The Senate leadership dismissed such concerns, saying that Bahrain and Qatar would find arms somewhere even if the US didn’t sell them. Emphasis on the importance of the two nations centered on them hosting America’s 5th Fleet and Central Command headquarters, respectively. The White House had threatened to veto either of the measures if they’d passed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What absolutely sickens me, here, is that the US Government, headed by our Merchant of Death In Chief, President Trump, in its weapons sales orgy, has decided that it is simply a financial deal, and who the heck cares about who gets killed or maimed for life, from these dictatorial regimes.

To those who fully understand President Kennedy's quote in 1962; "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.", this country is in "deep kim-chee" (trouble) with these sales of weapons to the heads of brutally autocratic states in the Middle East.

This country is making enemies out of those people who have peacefully demonstrated, and found themselves at the receiving end of all the brutality their countries can dish out.

Let is take a look at one of the most recent outrages with one of President Trump's BFFs in the Middle East, the Butcher of Yemen, aka Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Saudi teen faces execution for crimes allegedly committed when he was ten

This article goes on to state:

"There have already been at least 104 executions in Saudi Arabia in 2019, with ESOHR putting the number at 107 and Amnesty at 104.

“The Saudi Arabian authorities have a chilling track record of using the death penalty as a weapon to crush political dissent and punish anti-government protesters - including children - from the country’s persecuted Shia minority,” Amnesty International’s Middle East Research Director Lynn Maalouf has said in a statement.

She has added that “There should be no doubt that the Saudi Arabian authorities are ready to go to any length to crack down on dissent against their own citizens, including by resorting to the death penalty for men who were merely boys at the time of their arrest.”

News.com.au, got the story almost straight: Saudi teen faces beheading and crucifixion for protesting as a child

So, hey, Saudi Government, I have "a modest proposal"; why don't you sell rights to the event, livestreamed, while your murdering officials torture, crucify, then behead this kid?!?

Wow, wouldn't THAT provide "magnificent optics" for the real processes of the Wahabbi judicial system, protected by the Saudi monarchy, in Saudi Arabia?!? Hey, let's let the WHOLE WORLD SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING, FOR ALLEGED CRIMES HE COMMITTED WHEN HE WAS 10!!!!

And President Trump, who has become this nation's "Merchant of Death in Chief", with regards to weapons sales to Saudi Arabia, a word, please: I do hope that the Butcher of Yemen, does send you some images of this crucifixion, torture, and beheading of this kid, if it happens; and I say this to you, sir, because you need to fully understand the Saudi Monarchy's Wahabi concept of "justice"; I think that looking at such images, may give you the kind of "grounding" you desperately need, with regard to future weapons sales to the Saudis, and other oppressive countries in the region, like Bahrain.

12THE SELF-DESTRUCTIVE TRAJECTORY OF OVERLY SUCCESSFUL EMPIRES

It’s difficult not to see signs of this same trajectory in the U.S. since the fall of the Soviet Empire in 1990.

A recent comment by my friend and colleague, Dave Fairtex, on the Roman Empire’s self-destructive civil wars that precipitated the Western Empire’s decline and fall made me rethink what I’ve learned about the Roman Empire in the past few years of reading.

Dave’s comment (my paraphrase) described the amazement of neighboring nations that Rome would squander its strength on needless, inconclusive, self-inflicted civil conflicts over which political faction would gain control of the Imperial central state.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every individual, like every civilization, has a life cycle; a beginning; a middle, and an end.

I do not see our alleged representatives actually doing nearly anything constructive in Congress; what I see... is the petulant, arrested development behaviour of people who are supposed to be taking care of their country, lost in the bubbling ooze, of their own personal and professional vendettas, and wanting to make that priceless "inside knowledge" they get, 24/7, to work for them, economically, as best they can.

Ladies and Gentlemen in Congress; we have infrastructure which is crumbling; Veterans sleeping rough in our streets, and a National Debt, which is horribly out of control. US:
NATIONAL DEBT: $22,025,629,973,683

Yes, you read that correctly: we are looking at a $22 trillion deficit.

So, Congress; a word, please; every time you pull another "Gotya!!" moment on the opposite side of the aisle, we understand that you are not doing what we hired you to do, which, I seem to believe, was assisting with the actual governance of the country.

2 TANKERS DAMAGED AFTER SUSPECTED TORPEDO ATTACK NEAR STRAIT OF HORMUZ; OIL SOARS

UPDATE: It appears earlier reports that the Front Altair had sunk were, in fact, incorrect. The ship’s captain has said that it is still afloat. VHF radio traffic confirmed that it is damaged but still afloat.

Hours have passed since the suspected attacks, and still, nobody has claimed responsibility. Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has noted how suspicious it is that a Japanese owned vessel would be attacked while Iranian leaders were meeting with the Japanese prime minister in Tehran.

And as one BBG analyst pointed out: “Fingers will certainly be pointed at Iran as the mastermind behind these events. But the potential benefits to the Persian Gulf nation are outweighed by the risks. And even if Tehran isn’t responsible, it will still suffer the consequences.”

Update: The Front Altair, the Marshall Islands flag tanker damaged in Thursday’s attacks, has now sunk, according to Iranian television. Later, others denied these reports.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The logical question which must be asked, and quickly, is, why in the name of Heaven, would Iran do something so pig-headedly, ham-fistedly stupid, when they are absolutely desperately trying to hold the US and Israel at bay, in terms of not starting a shooting war?!?

We the American people have to have the courage, to ask our alleged representatives, this question, and ask they if they are for a US-led shooting war against Iran?!?

The short answer is, they wouldn't.

So however this was done, I have a very nasty feeling in the pit of my gut, that this could well have happened, courtesy of an American, or Israeli, "false flag team", to make it appear that the Iranians would actually do something so idiotic, as to try to force a shooting war in the region.

The Iranian government members, may be many things; stupid, however, is not one of them.

UK's special forces set for new Russia mission

he SAS and other UK Special Forces (UKSF) are poised to receive a new mission countering Russian and other forces around the world.

The plan is called 'Special Operations Concept' and has been drawn up by the senior officer in charge of the special forces, the Director Special Forces (DSF).

According to people familiar with what's in it, part of the concept involves changing both the structure of the military's secretive units and what they do.

The plan is currently being considered by military chiefs, Whitehall insiders tell me, and will soon be sent to ministers and is likely to be approved.

Side Effects of NATO's Yugoslavia Campaign: Cancer, Sterility & Mental Disorders

Aleksandra Stanic - Serbia is planning to carry out scientific research on the effects of the 1999 NATO campaign in Yugoslavia and to prove that there's a connection between the deplorable public health trends and the damage caused by NATO bombs.

According to Serbian oncologists, the number of cancer patients in the country is on the rise, and the mortality rate among them is increasing. The situation with infertility, autoimmune diseases, and mental disorders in Serbia is also alarming.

"Twenty years after the bombing of Yugoslavia, we are seeing an increase in oncological diseases, primarily systemic ones, such as lymphomas and leukaemia, and then solid cancerous tumours. And the most tragic thing is that, compared with the European average, we have 2.5 times more children with cancer".

US must develop ‘new way of war’ or risk ‘defeat’ to Russia & China – think tank

The Pentagon’s military posture based on post-Cold War dominance will not work against new Russian and Chinese strategies and must be urgently updated, or the US risks losing a war against either power, a new report warns.

America needs a “new way of war,” according to a report authored by Chris Dougherty of the Center for New American Security (CNAS) and published on Wednesday.

“For the first time in decades, it is possible to imagine the United States fighting—and possibly losing—a large-scale war with a great power,” Dougherty warns.

While the US remains stuck in the “implicit and explicit mental framework” for military strategy and operations that emerged during the 1991 Gulf War, he adds, China and Russia have been devising new strategies and weapons to defeat the US in war should that become necessary.

Can artificial intelligence improve aerial dogfighting?

Artificial intelligence is meeting its next match: aerial dogfighting.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency wants to automate air-to-air combat, which would free pilots to concentrate on the larger air battle creating a human-machine team.

DARPA created the Air Combat Evolution (ACE) program to take on this project. While agency leaders acknowledge aerial dogfighting will be a less frequent occurrence in the future, the program centers on creating pilot trust in AI dogfighting.

RUSSIAN JETS CARRY OUT DEADLY BOMBINGS IN SYRIA'S IDLIB

SOURCE: ALJAZEERA.COM
At least 25 people have been killed in aerial bombardment carried out by Russian jet fighters in Idlib region, with schools and medical centres knocked down during a continued Syrian military offensive.

The rebel stronghold of northwestern Syria despite being part of a buffer-zone deal has come under deadly regime bombardment in recent weeks, sparking fears for its roughly three million residents.

At least 13 people were killed, including women and children, after Russian Sukhoi jets dropped bombs on the village of Jabala in southern Idlib province, residents and civil rescuers told Reuters news agency.

Russian jets were also behind several raids that hit the town of Khan Sheikhoun, Kafr Battikh and several other villages that left at least another 12 civilians dead, according to another local rescuer.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The one thing that Al Jazeera fails to mention, is that these rebels, aligned with Al Qaeda, are generally US funded and US trained.

But it looks as though Idlib is going to be the jihadists' "last stand" in Syria, and if they do not surrender, they will be bombed out of existence.

THE OMNIPRESENT SURVEILLANCE STATE: ORWELL’S 1984 IS NO LONGER FICTION

SOURCE: ACTIVIST POST

1984 portrays a global society of total control in which people are not allowed to have thoughts that in any way disagree with the corporate state. There is no personal freedom, and advanced technology has become the driving force behind a surveillance-driven society. Snitches and cameras are everywhere. People are subject to the Thought Police, who deal with anyone guilty of thought crimes. The government, or “Party,” is headed by Big Brother who appears on posters everywhere with the words: “Big Brother is watching you.”

We have arrived, way ahead of schedule, into the dystopian future dreamed up by not only Orwell but also such fiction writers as Aldous Huxley, Margaret Atwood and Philip K. Dick.

“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”?George Orwell

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why those of us, who see what is going on, and speak against the madness we see, must pick our fights very carefully; the "other side" is far better funded; far better equipped; and far better organised than we are.

Iran at High Level of Readiness as US General Continues to Claim Imminent Threat

US Admiral says all interactions with Iranians remain 'safe and professional'

Growing US military buildups throughout April and May in the Middle East were a reaction, according to officials, to Iran’s military being at a high level of readiness. Now, with all those extra US forces in the area, Iran remains at a high level of readiness.

This is something of a challenge for the US to parse, now, as it makes sense for Iran to be at a high level of readiness after months of escalation and US threats, and officials are trying to figure out if this is just the new normal.

Gen. Frank McKenzie, the top US commander in the region, is continuing to hype up Iran as an “imminent threat.” Gen. McKenzie played up this threat on Thursday, and used virtually identical comments on Saturday, claiming Iran’s threat has “evolved in certain ways.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, US military, , you cannot have it both ways; in one breath, an admiral observes that activites with the Iranian military have been "safe and professional", but Gen. Frank McKenzie, still insists that there is an "imminent threat."

US gives Turkey ultimatum on Russian missiles

Turkey has been given a deadline of the end of July to choose between buying US fighter jets and Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Acting US Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan set out the ultimatum in a letter to his Turkish counterpart, Hulusi Akar.

Turkey, he said, could not have both America's F-35 advanced fighter jets and Russia's S-400 systems.

The two Nato allies have been locked in a row over the S-400 for months.

America argues that the Russian systems are both incompatible with Nato defence systems and pose a security threat, and wants Turkey to buy its Patriot anti-aircraft systems instead.

Turkey, which has been pursuing an increasingly independent defence policy, has signed up to buying 100 F-35s, and has invested heavily in the F-35 programme, with Turkish companies producing 937 of the plane's parts.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Shanahan's intent was to push Turkey to buy the Russia products, he has done a great job so far!

To give some perspective to the ordeal endured by Ashqar, in 2007, Lewis Libby, chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, was convicted of lying to a federal grand jury about the disclosure of the identity of a CIA agent.

Libby was sentenced to two and a half years, but didn’t spend a day in prison because President George W. Bush commuted his sentence.

Last year, President Donald Trump pardoned Libby altogether.

Ashqar, who wasn’t accused of perjury but of simply refusing to testify, spent more than a decade in prison.

Michael Deutsch, Muhammad Salah’s lawyer during the trial of Ashqar and Salah, wrote for The Electronic Intifada in 2008 about the “extreme injustice perpetrated on Abdelhaleem Ashqar by the US government and the federal court in Chicago culminating in a draconian sentence of 135 months for nonviolent acts of civil disobedience.”

UAE-Backed Militants Raid Yemen Mosque, Kill and Abduct Worshipers

The United Arab Emirates-backed paramilitary forces in Yemen have long been criticized for their abusive behavior toward civilians, particularly civilians in contested regions. This weekend, that recurring problem centered on Dhale Province.

On Friday, a mosque in Dhale same under attack by the UAE-backed forces, who forced their way in, killed six worshipers, and kidnapped another four. The identities of the captured people have not been confirmed.

The UAE forces, however, issued a statement saying that everyone that they killed were “Houthi rebels who refused to surrender.” None of them have been identified conclusively.

In Yemen’s southwest, Dhale had been under the control of Saudi and UAE-backed forces throughout much of the war, but in recent months, the Houthis have returned to the area and carved out an area which has resisted a number of offensives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, assassinations of innocent civilians... is OUR thing!!" Official Saudi Souse.

And the kills go on, and on, mercilessly, when the only answer to this horrific genocide against the Houthis, as mentioned by people familiar with the region, and its background, is through negotiations.

And the US government is complicit, up to its neck, in Saudi/UAE crimes in Yemen.

Senators Hope to Force Vote on Arms Sales to Saudi Arabia

President Trump’s hope to circumvent Senate oversight with an emergency declaration on arms sales to Saudi Arabia appears to have backfired. If anything, this effort seems to have drawn even more attention to the planned sales, and fueled even more Senate objections.

Now, in addition to 22 resolutions objecting to the sales, the Senate is introducing a new bill on Monday aimed to force a vote on all security aid to Saudi Arabia, including arms sales, and conditioning them on a Congressional review of Saudi human rights issues.

Trump aimed to bypass oversight on $8.1 billion in sales, knowing they would face objections, by claiming an “emergency” that meant it couldn’t wait for Congress to vote. Since the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi by the Saudi government, there has been discomfort with arms sales to the Saudis. Trump has objected to this additional resistance, arguing that the sales are worth a lot of money.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump is making it painfully clear, that in his mind, weapons sales trump Saudi and Yemeni rights, any day.

And if you like President Trump's position on this, you are also going to love the following article:

Trump Allows High Tech Bombs to be Built in Saudi Arabia

Doesn't that just warm your heart, to understand that weaponry assistance to a second, maniacally, self-declared theocracy (besides Israel) in the Middle East, will be getting American weapons technology?!?

Look for a massive weapons race to happen in the Middle East; and guess what?!? China, and Pakistan, would be just delighted to share their laser and nuclear technology with anyone who has the bucks to buy it!!

SYRIA - WESTERN MEDIA GLORIFICATION OF SYRIAN JIHADIST IS A SIGN THAT THE WAR IS FAR FROM ITS END

SOURCE: MOONOFALABAMA.ORG
Western media currently publish glorifying obituaries for a Syrian 'rebel' who is know for extreme sectarianism and for being a member of a Jihadi group that is aligned with al-Qaeda.

The Associated Press, the BBC, the Guardian and analysts all write of Abdul Baset al-Sarout who yesterday died of wounds he received two days earlier when his group attacked Syrian government forces.

AP:

Abdul Baset al-Sarout, 27, rose to fame as a goalkeeper for his home city of Homs and won international titles representing his country. When peaceful protests broke out against Mr. al-Assad in 2011, Mr. al-Sarout led rallies and became known as the “singer of the revolution” for his ballads.
When Syria slid into civil war, Mr. al-Sarout took up arms. He led a unit of fighters against government forces and survived the government siege of Homs.

The Guardian:

Webmaster's Commentary:

These stories, concerning "celebrated jihadists" in Syria, make me come to the conclusion of the war in Syria, may well not be over, courtesy of the US and Israel.

I believe that both countries will poke and prod until they find a perceived "weakness", then blast against it with all those remaining US funded equipped, and trained jihadis as they possibly can.

The big question, at that point, is what will Russia, and the Syrian government, do to combat this?!?

‘Deadly Serious’: Near-Misses Between US, Russian Ships No Accident, and No Joke

Provocations between US and Russians warships, similar to the incident that occurred Friday in the East China Sea, are extremely dangerous but all too common ? and any one could lead to disaster, Mark Sleboda, an international affairs and security analyst, told Radio Sputnik’s Loud & Clear.

On Friday, the US Navy released a video of the near-collision between Russian destroyer Admiral Vinogradov and US Navy cruiser USS Chancellorsville in the East China Sea. The Russian Pacific Fleet responded with a statement that the US ship had suddenly changed course and crossed the path of the Russian destroyer “just 50 meters away from the ship.” The US Seventh Fleet denied Russia’s version of events, blaming the Russian vessel for nearly causing a collision.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Right now, as the tensions between Russia and the US are ratcheting up to a new all-time high, it would behoove the military of BOTH countries to be very careful, when in close proximity to the other countries' military assets, on land, or on sea.

Three Russian warships to keep NATO Baltops-2019 exercise under observationMore:http://tass.com/defense/1062814

June 8. /TASS/. The Baltic Fleet’s warships will keep track of NATO’s Baltops-2019 maneuvers to begin in the Baltic Sea waters on June 9, a law enforcement source in Russia’s westernmost Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad told TASS on Saturday.

"The Stoikiy and the Boikiy corvettes, as well as the Liven small missile ship, will keep the NATO maneuvers under observation. Besides, reconnaissance assets will also be deployed," the source said.

TASS has been unable to officially confirm the information at the time of the publication.

The Baltops-2019 exercise will be held on June 9-21. It will involve up to 40 surface ships and submarines and 40 aircraft from 18 countries. For the first time, the US Second Fleet, re-established in 2018, will take part in the maneuvers. Staff members will run Baltops-2019 from the USS Mount Whitney command ship, which arrived to the Baltic Sea on May 30.

TIM POOL: 'LEFT WING MEDIA ACTIVIST EMAIL LEAK SHOWS HOW THEY DEPLATFORM POLITICAL RIVALS'

SOURCE: CHRIS MENAHAN, INFORMATION LIBERATION

Independent journalist Tim Pool was leaked an email showing Slate journo April Glaser appearing to threaten Chase Bank with negative press if they don't deplatform the right-wing activist group The Proud Boys.

From Tim Pool:

Following the Vox controversy with Steven Crowder, or #VoxAdpocalypse, and mass censorship hitting youtube I found it pertinent to show how these activists in media operate and how they use framing devices to target people like conservatives and other political groups.

The reporter in question has advocated for government regulation to restrict speech and I believe this shows her to be an activist acting to target and cause harm to political rivals.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a group designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, The Proud Boys are now labeled as an alt-right by the FBI: FBI now categorizes as an alt-right group by the FBI

And yes, it appears that they have been complicit in violence against Antifa protestors in both New York, and Portland. "The report, and the FBI’s warning to south-west Washington police agencies about the Proud Boys’ role in escalating violence at these events came in August, two months before the group was involved in an infamous weekend of street violence in New York City and Portland, and not long after they participated in street violence in downtown Portland on 30 June."

But the question I have to ask, as a Christian pacifist activist, is, will this deplatforming and demonitization simply push them further underground, perhaps into the "dark web", where their website vitriol becomes even more violence-centric, if these actions are carried out by Chase?!?''

Right now, I think that this possible scenario, is what should be keeping the FBI's case manager on this, up at night.

As a woman of European descent, and darned lucky to have been a part of a family which advocated for education and opportunity for women, I know that I cannot change history; but I do know that, working together in a reasonable and intelligent manner, we can, with people working together, make positive changes for the future.

And as a wife of almost 25 years, regarding my wonderful Husband, Mike; I walk beside this man, not in front, or behind him, and am very delighted to still be in the presence of his company.

SKY NEWS AND THE WESTERN PRESS HAVE ONCE AGAIN FAILED SYRIA

SOURCE: MINT PRESS

Recent storylines from the Western press on the “Idlib” narrative, particularly the extraordinary spate of “on-the-ground” reports from Sky News reporter Alex Crawford, have failed to paint an accurate picture of the reality faced by Syrian civilians.

Brett McGurk – the U.S. government’s Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL — described Idlib as “the largest Al Qaeda safe haven since 9/11,” adding that the presence of Al Qaeda in Idlib was a “huge problem” and had been so “for some time.” Mint Press journalist Whitney Webb covered McGurk’s statements and U.S. policy in Idlib in late 2018.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Normalizing" the presence of militant groups affiliated with Al Qaeda, is just the point of such coverage; so, ultimately, the Western Press and Sky News have been deliberately distorting the truth, to give their readers the impression that it is completely "customary" for radical jihadis be in control of the city, rather than those forces loyal to the Syrian government and its President, Bashir Al-Assad.

IRAN UNVEILS HOMEBUILT AIR DEFENSE MISSILE SYSTEM TO DESTROY ‘STEALTH TARGETS’ (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

SOURCE: RT
Tehran’s military displayed a brand-new indigenous air defense missile system, capable of tracking and shooting down six targets at the same time. The weapon was rolled out amid growing tensions around the Persian Gulf.
Iran unveiled its new domestically-designed air defense missile system Khordad 15 on Sunday. Equipped with long-range Sayyad 3 missiles, it can shoot down enemy jets and combat drones at a range of 120 kilometers, Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said.

Full video of 15 khordad air defence system ( ?? ?????)pic.twitter.com/izgZKfBIBl

— ???s??? ????? (@persianintel) June 9, 2019
The complex can also track “stealth targets,” intercepting them 45 km away. Overall, the weapon can destroy six targets simultaneously, according to military officials.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Iranian civilian government and its military leadership, may be many things; that being said, foolish, and unprepared are not among those categories whatsoever.

They full well know, what may be in their future (a war with the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel), and want to guard against this, by creating the best military equipment which can be created by their weaponry engineers.

So I would like to, politely and strongly caution the White House, Pentagon, and State Department, that should the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel, mount some kind of attack against Iran, that Russia and China may well decide to join Iran in the fight.

And President Trump, no matter what verbal poison against Iran with which Bolton, Netanyahu, and Pompeo are filling your ears, there as to be another way, other than war, to achieve your geopolitical and financial goals here.

But your unilaterally pulling the US out of the P5+1, was an horrendous mistake, sir; and right now, to your utter embarrassment, the IAEA team, on the ground in Iran, are still saying, that the Iranians are complying with their side of the bargain.

Israel’s Attack on the USS Liberty: A Half Century Later, Still No Justice

Two F-4s left the carrier to come to the Liberty’s aid. Apparently, the jets were armed only with nuclear weapons. When word reached the Pentagon, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara became irate and ordered the jets to return. “Tell the Sixth Fleet to get those aircraft back immediately,” he barked. McNamara’s injunction was reiterated in saltier terms by Admiral David L. McDonald, the chief of Naval Operations: “You get those fucking airplanes back on deck, and you get them back down.” The planes turned around. And the attack on the Liberty continued.

After the Israeli fighter jets had emptied their arsenal of rockets, three Israeli attack boats approached the Liberty. Two torpedoes were launched at the crippled ship, one tore a 40-foot wide hole in the hull, flooding the lower compartments, and killing more than a dozen American sailors.

Webmaster's Commentary:

AND THIS, FOLKS, IS HOW ISRAEL TREATED ITS "FRIEND", THE UNITED STATES, WHEN IT WAS ENGAGING IN A FALSE FLAG TO GET THE US TO FIGHT EGYPT, ON WHICH IT WANTED TO BLAME THE ATTACK.

TRUMP OKS ADVANCED BOMB PARTS TO BE BUILT IN SAUDI: NYT

SOURCE: ALJAZEERA

When US President Donald Trump bypassed Congress last month to approve a multibillion-dollar arms deal to Saudi Arabia, he also allowed the kingdom to develop complex precision-bomb parts, according to the New York Times.

Trump's emergency declaration allows American arms firm Raytheon to share technology with Riyadh that could allow Saudi Arabia to develop its own laser-guided bombs, the newspaper reported on Friday.

Among the components which the Saudis are now allowed to work on with the firm are the control systems and vital electronics for Raytheon's Paveway series of smart bombs. That technology was previously closely guarded by Washington.

The technology sharing is just one part of a sweeping arms package Trump bypassed Congress to push through by declaring a national emergency, citing tensions with Iran.

Outrage on Capitol Hill

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, please tell me that this is a belated April Fool's joke; because if it isn't, you may just have created the elements which can potentially turn into World War III; the current detente between Saudi Arabia and Israel could turn nasty at any second, and any attack against Iran by Saudi Arabia, could well be met with China and Russia taking sides with Iran.

Giving dictatorial kingdoms, which are self-proclaimed theocracies, is probably not ever a great idea; and I am referring, sir, to both Israel and Saudi Arabia.

This move does not augur well for peace, either in the region, or in the world.

Trump & NATO warmongers proclaim peace

At the 75th anniversary this week of the Allied assault on Nazi-occupied France, US President Donald Trump and other NATO leaders issued a “D-Day Proclamation.” In it, they pledged never “to repeat the horror of World War Two.”

The US and 15 other nations, including Britain, France, and Canada, also declared their commitment to “resolve international tensions peacefully.”

If the so-called D-Day proclamation sounds like a load of PR twaddle, that’s because it is.

The war in Yemen is still raging on with no end in sight and the Saudis are beginning to see the war come home to them. While the Saudis are beginning to see blowback from their brutal military campaign in the country, we must not forget that this war would not be possible without US intelligence and weapons. RUSSIA SLAMS US NAVY FOR ‘UNACCEPTABLE’ BEHAVIOR AFTER WARSHIPS’ NEAR-MISS IN EAST CHINA SEA

SOURCE: RT

Russia has accused the US Navy of “unacceptable” and dangerous maneuvering, after a US warship almost caused a catastrophic collision with a Russian destroyer in the East China Sea.

The Russian Navy said that the USS Chancellorsville, a guided-missile cruiser, unexplainedly changed direction and came within just 50 meters of the Admiral Vinogradov on Friday at 6:35 Moscow time. It added that a collision was only prevented after the Russian crew implemented emergency maneuvers and changed course.

A statement from Russia’s Pacific Fleet added that a complaint had been lodged with the command of the American cruiser.

We made our protest to the command of the American ship on an international wavelength and pointed out that such actions are unacceptable.

The US Navy denied responsibility for the near-collision. Instead, it blamed the Admiral Vinogradov for accelerating at Chancellorsville while it was waiting for its helicopter to land onboard.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) One has to wonder if the crew on the Chancellorsville was "showboating" when it nearly hit the Admiral Vinogradov, or that there was a clear command for the US Navy to do some aggressive maneuvers; either way, this kind of behaviour, is not helping US/ Russian relations right now.

MAJESTIC MEMORIES

The government may declare victory in wars started in foreign lands, but for the people who live in small towns in this land the results are barely distinguishable from defeat. Lives are lost, families destroyed, futures shattered, hopes ruined; all this is the price paid by the people for the "foreign entanglements" we were long ago warned to avoid. The real price of war is paid not just by those who died in it, but by those who are left behind who bury their dead and pay the bills.

And now it may happen again. Having bred a new generation of soldiers far too young to know what their service in war costs their own families, the present administration is trying to start a war of conquest, to barter the surplus population of "useless eaters" for even more wealth and power. And if the leaders obtain that wealth and power they will declare victory, while the people of America who live in towns like the one I grew up in will salve their grief with cheap ribbons and plaques.

The Trade War Is About To Become An Economic World War III

The public enthusiasm for the trade war by elites within the Trump Administration cabinet, including Rothschild banking agent Wilber Ross, Council On Foreign Relations member Robert E. Lighthizer, Goldman Sachs member Steve Mnuchin, and Bilderberg attendee Mike Pompeo showcases a desire based on globalization to perpetuate an escalation in tensions.

Whether or not you agree with the rationalizations behind the trade war, the point is, the only people who will ultimately benefit from it are those striving for globalization.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is of grave concern to me, that this trade war could well devolve into a shooting war.

There's an archetypal dream, which Mike and I have, frequently; it's that one where you can see two trains, getting closer and closer together, ever more quickly, one on the wrong track, but you cannot communicate with either train's engineer to warn them, and there is a spectacular, horrific crash.

The US is headed for just such a confrontation, and very quickly; the possible "opponents" in this war, will most likely be China; Russia; Iran; North Korea, and Syria.

Look for rationing of food and materials at that point; and the possible suspension of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, followed by a declaration of Martial Law.

After that happens, look for a reinstitution of a draft, both for our young men, and our young women.

Some may laugh at my predictions; but in looking at the state of geopolitics around the world, I am seeing all the pieces starting to come into place, which is utterly terrifying, particularly if you are a pacifist, who knows that this country is absolutely going down the wrong path, with these horrific wars.

Video: US-Sponsored Kurdish Militia Burn Wheat Fields in Northern Syria

The Kurdish separatist militia SDF and its affiliates from PYD and Asayish are burning wheat fields in the territories under their occupation northeast of Syria.

Some of the most fertile lands as well as territories rich with oil are under the occupation of the US-sponsored separatist SDF militia. The US and its illegal International Coalition of evil states are preventing the Syrian state from restoring the country from terrorists and separatists.

A video widely spread on social media shows a vehicle of the Kurdish Asayish thugs, the security arm of the PYD and SDF Kurdish militia, driving through a wheat field in the city of Qamishli northeast of the country with strong flames of fire coming from it to burn out the entire field.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, we now have a "scorched earth" policy toward Syria?!?

What inhumane monster ordered this done, and was it insure some Syrians will starve because the wheat is no longer available?!?

And just to make it clear, mass, collective punishment of a people is a war crime.

Tulsi Gabbard Pushes No War Agenda – and the Media Is Out to Kill Her Chances

The most interesting candidate is undoubtedly Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who is a fourth term Congresswoman from Hawaii, where she was born and raised. She is also the real deal on national security, having been-there and done-it through service as an officer with the Hawaiian National Guard on a combat deployment in Iraq. Though in Congress full time, she still performs her Guard duty.

Tulsi’s own military experience notwithstanding, she gives every indication of being honestly anti-war. In the speech announcing her candidacy she pledged “focus on the issue of war and peace” to “end the regime-change wars that have taken far too many lives and undermined our security by strengthening terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda.” She referred to the danger posed by blundering into a possible nuclear war and indicated her dismay over what appears to be a re-emergence of the Cold War.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that I would be more willing to trust her with this country's futures than the other candidates who have announced their run, because, as a Vet, she has seen combat, and will do her level best to make sure geopolitical situations are handled respectfully, and morally; unfortunately, the US's military industrial complex will most probably have her gone, by the time the primaries are half over.

Iraq Daily Roundup: Turks Fire on Civilians in North; Eight Killed Across Iraq

At least eight were killed, and five were wounded in recent violence:

Relatives of a young man shot to death at his farm in Rabango, abutting the Turkish border, say that the shots were fired across the border by Turkish security forces. The man traveled with two friends to the farmland that the three of them own, when they came under fire. They may have been mistaken for smugglers or Kurdish guerrillas.

In Mergarash, three people were injured when Turkish jets bombed their farm. The victims are two brothers and their cousin. The trio also belong to the Peshmerga security forces, but that does not appear to be a factor in this attack.

Militants wounded two soldiers during an attack in Buhriz.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am looking at this, and shaking my head, at this insanity.

What the hell does Erdogan think he is going to get out of these battles against primarily innocent, non-combatant, more land to claim belonging to Turkey?!?

Someone needs to get to this guy, and in short order, explain the word "Optics"; and right now, the optics of this Turkish war against Iraq, are looking officially horrible.

Gaza factions warn of escalation over Israel's reluctance to implement terms of ceasefire

Meanwhile, Israel's military intel chief said Hamas 'has no interest in going to war at this time'

The Gaza Strip's militant factions on Wednesday warned that Israel's "foot-dragging" in following through with certain ceasefire arrangement could lead to an escalation beginning with border protests later this week.

"We insist on holding our Eid in the locations of Jihad, the bond to the land and the marches of return, to communicate to the people of the world that the people of Palestine, and the people of Gaza, will not break and their determination will not break," Senior Hamas official in Gaza Khalil Al-Hayya said Wednesday, on the first day of the three-day Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr.

A top member of the committee organizing the weekly "Great March of Return" protests on Gaza's border with Israel told Haaretz daily that Palestinians are demanding more aid be transferred from Qatar, further loosening of import restrictions, and continuation of humanitarian initiatives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Any attempt to make these Palestinians give up their hopes for true nationhood for money, or other economic opportunities, is doomed to do have a "mammary glands up" outcome.

And to make matters worse, the Israeli government is creating settlements which prohibit, by the way they are engineered, any contiguous areas for a country of Palestine

U.S. ARMY IS DEVELOPING AUTONOMOUS SELF-DEPLOYING SURVEILLANCE BALLOONS

Balloons have been a military tool since the American Civil War. Though displaced by 1918 by their newfangled, heavier-than-air cousin, the airplane, they have since made a comeback in the twenty-first century as surveillance platforms.

And now the U.S. Army wants a mobile balloon that can move autonomously as a floating drone.

Amassing War Powers, Bolton Rips a Page Out of Cheney’s Playbook

Shanahan is expected to be nominated for the top Pentagon slot, subject to Senate confirmation. And according to Stephen Wertheim, assistant professor of history at Columbia University, during the confirmation hearings, “when senators think Shanahan, they should think Bolton. Because a vacuum at the top of DoD means that the department becomes a rubber stamp for Bolton.”

Bolton is an unapologetic Bush-era war hawk with four decades of experience inside the Beltway. Throughout his long career, he’s advocated for regime change in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, and Iran. As national security adviser, he appears determined to consolidate his power in the Cabinet, usurping powers that traditionally reside with the military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the trajectory of US Foreign policies,I am deeply concerned that John Bolton will attempt, when he has Trump's ear, getting wars going on in Syria; Venezuela; Cuba; and Iran.

One has to wonder; what kind of stock investments in the military/industrial complex industries, and related industries, does the guy actually hold?!? Is that what makes him so war-centric, for more personal wealth?!?

Because remember; people who do what he does, as Advisor to the President, do not have to sign over their personal revenues, and put them in a blind trust.

Or is it some kind of dark, demented blood lust, pushing him to create environments, where people are going to wind up dead?!?

Either way, that a person who can be simultaneously so consistently wrong, and yet so consistently have the ear of a sitting President so frequently, is utterly terrifying.

Former IAEA Deputy Falsely Claims Iran Could Make Nukes in 6-8 Months: Accuses IAEA of letting Iran 'weaponize' uranium

Former IAEA deputy director Olli Heinonen, long a critic of his former employer, accused the IAEA in an interview of letting Iran “weaponize” uranium. He further claimed that Iran, with “maximum effort,” could produce a nuclear weapon in “six to eight months.”

Neither of these allegations were accurate by any stretch of the imagination. Heinonen was focusing on Iran improving its centrifuges. Despite this, Iran is still only enriching uranium to 3.6%, the level needed for its power plant, and far below the 90%+ needed for weapons-grade uranium.

Though the centrifuges conceivably could further enrich uranium beyond the levels presently being done, Iran has never attempted to enrich to anywhere near the 90% level, and has never suggested that they would even try.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why would he lie like this, when he absolutely knows better?!?

One has to wonder; what kind of compensation, and from whom is he getting it to say something he knows, scientifically, not to be true?!?

Oh, I can think of a couple of countries here; perhaps the US, or Israeli?!?

Trump: Iran ‘Probably’ Remains a Terrorist Nation: Says there is still 'always a chance' of war with Iran

In an interview Wednesday on Britain’s ITV, President Trump reiterated that he does not want a war with Iran, and would much rather talk, saying that there is “always a chance” of a war.

He gave the impression that’s getting less likely, however, calling them “extremely hostile when I first came into office,” adding “they were a terrorist nation, number one in the world at that time and probably maybe are today.”

That is a highly unusual thing for any US politician to say, as the broad official position is that no matter what Iran is doing at any given time, they are always the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. Trump suggested that there some question to that.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mister President, from whom did you get the designation "terrorist", when it comes to Iran?!?

Were I a betting person, I would bet that it must have come from one of your two BFFs in the Middle East: Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Butcher of Gaza.

Remember that tiny little enclave called Gaza?!? Did you know what goes on their with their kids?!? They are routinely arrested and tortured by the IDF, and forced to sign "confessions" in Hebrew, a language they do not speak, and barely can comprehend?!?

History, Past to Present: Palestinian Children in Israeli jails.

Israel Military DetentionThis article goes on to state: "Israel is the only country in the world that automatically prosecutes children in military courts that lack basic and fundamental fair trial guarantees. Since 2000, at least 8,000 Palestinian children have been arrested and prosecuted in an Israeli military detention system notorious for the systematic ill-treatment and torture of Palestinian children."

Around 500-700 Palestinian children are arrested, detained and prosecuted in the Israeli military court system each year."

Israeli torture of Palestinian children 'institutional'

Israel jails hundreds of Palestinian boys every year.

Did you also know that Israel has "indefinite confinement in prison, no trial, no law; no nothing, where they can keep people in jail permanently?!?

Israeli jails: facts and resources

Israel is holding a Palestinian lawmaker as political prisoner...indefinitely

Israel order solitary confinement for jailed Palestinian Leader

So, Mr. President, before you use that "T" word again, to describe Iran as a "terrorist country", you need to look again, and ask some unbiased NGO members, who have heard these testimonies of Palestinians routinely locked up, and kids tortured; I sincerely believe that you... would have an ear for the truth, when you hear it.

And sir, finally, something you really need to see (preferably, with the whole family), and it is the documentary, done by a very charming Jewish videographer, and it's name is: "Don't tell Mother I'm In Iran." The link can be found here: Don't tell my Mother I'm in Iran

This is a very different image of the country from that which Netanyahu wants you to believe, and it focuses on Iran's young people, and the fact that in it's 1979 Constitution (and sir, why to the Iranians HAVE a constitution, but Israel does not?), religious minorities are protected, and these groups are Christians, Bahais, and Jews.

Not only are they a protected minority, but each faith has a Representative in their Parliament, and the videographer goes into one of the very lovely synagogues, and his visit there is nothing short of amazing.

Here is a list of Christian churches in Iran:

You are welcome, Mr. President!!

D-Day: How the US Supported Hitler’s Rise to Power

“In the aftermath of [World War I], there was such strong anti-war sentiment throughout Europe and throughout the United States that people were very, very loath to get involved in another war, and they were willing to tolerate things they perhaps shouldn't have,” Kuznick said. “The attitude in the United States was that the United States had been effectively suckered into the war by the munitions manufacturers and the bankers. That instead of it being a noble cause to make the world safe for democracy, to fight the war to end all wars, it was really a war to secure the vast Morgan loans to the British and the French and way to fatten the coffers of DuPont and the other munitions makers.”

Russia Intercepts US Spy Plane Off Syrian Coast

While US and NATO warplanes intercept Russian planes in international airspace on a very regular basis, Russia’s own interceptions are fairly rare, and the US is always furious when it happens. That was the case on Tuesday, when a US Navy spy plane started hanging around the Syrian coast.

Russia is very protective of the Syrian coast, and for good reason, as it hosts Russia’s lone Mediterranean naval base. Having US military aircraft hanging around that area, even if it is just a spy plane, was always going to provoke a response.

Russia sent up a fighter jet to intercept the plane. This apparently didn’t take this first couple of times, because the fighter had to intercept the same spy plane three different times in the same area before it finally went away.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, let me get my head around this; the US flies over Syrian sovereign territory, close to a Russian air base there, and it is the Russians were out of line?!?

I am sorry, but did these pilots understand just how close, to the keening edge of war, they appeared to be trying to take this country?!?

On orders from their CO?!?!?

It is almost as though the US is deliberately trying to goad Russia into a "supersonic bar fight" over Syria.

And President Trump, a word, please; at this point in its history, the US military does not not have the weaponry; the budget; the troop strength; or the manufacturing right now to ensure a positive outcome to a war against Russia, or China, or both.

WHY TRUMP NOW WANTS TALKS WITH IRAN

Authored by Pepe Escobar via The Saker blog.

The great Bilderberg secret of 2019 had to do with why, suddenly, the Trump administration has decided that it wants to talk to Iran “with no preconditions”.

It all has to do with the Strait of Hormuz. Blocking the Strait could cut off oil and gas from Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Iran – 20% of the world’s oil. There has been some debate on whether this could occur – whether the US Fifth Fleet, which is stationed nearby, could stop Tehran doing this and if Iran, which has anti-ship missiles on its territory along the northern border of the Persian Gulf, would go that far.

An American source said a series of studies hit President Trump’s desk and caused panic in Washington. These showed that in the case of the Strait of Hormuz being shut down, whatever the reason, Iran has the power to hammer the world financial system, by causing global trade in derivatives to be blown apart.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word, please; pulling the US from the P5+1 deal, telegraphed, painfully clearly, to the Iranian government, that the US government is pathologically incapable of keeping its promise, when an election cycle moves the person in power, as the President, to someone else.

The possibilities that you could negotiate a new agreement with Iran, have pretty much been torn asunder, by this ham-fistedly, bone-headedly , incredibly stupid decision on your part, made under immense pressure, of course, from two of your two BFFs, one in the Middle East, Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the other, Sheldon Adelson, the American Zionist who has poured out contributions upon you, with just as much support as he was able, legally, to do.

So, President Trump, what you have, in terms of perception by the Iranian government, is an "optics problem".

And BTW, sir: the IAEA continues to report that Iran is abiding by this deal, and has not done anything to disturb Iranian cooperation with the P5+1.

Now, i don't know anything about the CVs of the people working with this organization; but I do understand that they have to be phenomenally smart people, and if something was amiss, they would honestly report it.

So, President Trump, is it humanly possible that you, and your brother and sister Foggy Bottomites who condemn Iran, can do something that might, please, possibly appear, as a sane and logical move here?!?

Sir, it is way past time, for the US government, with regard to Iran, to "cage the rage, and engage" ; please show the Iranian government that we can actually do this, with some "trust-building mechanisms".

You have a both war-weary, and war-skeptical nation to take care of; and if the advisors around you even MENTION the possibility of restarting the draft, with which to beef up US troop strength, before another endless war starts, with which to engulf the world, there are two words for which you are famous on television, and those two words are: "YOU'RE FIRED"!!!''

You need to use those words immediately, sir, to anyone in your inner circle, who is still pushing the agenda, that the attack against/invasion of Iran, is a "great idea."

FRENCH WEAPONS SALES TO SAUDI JUMPED 50% LAST YEAR

SOURCE: MIDDLE EAST MONITOR
France’s weapons sales to Saudi Arabia rose 50 per cent in 2018 despite the government calling for an end to the “dirty war” in Yemen, figures released on Tuesday showed, Reuters reports.
An annual government report showed that total arms sales rose 30 per cent to 9.1 billion euros in 2018, driven by a sharp increase in sales to European allies.

France sold about 1 billion euros worth of arms to Saudi Arabia, with the main item being patrol boats. A partial naval blockade of ports controlled by the Houthi movement is one of the tactics used by a Saudi-led coalition in Yemen that has been criticised by campaigners for worsening a humanitarian crisis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

French arms manufacturers understand, completely, as to how their weaponry is going to to be used, in Saudi Arabia's genocide in Yemen.

And just in case, those weapons manufacturers are suffering from an intense case of SMD (selective memory disorder) I will take a moment, to insure that they know just what their patrol boats are used against a starving population, because Yemeni ports are blockaded, so no food, or aid, can get in to the country: (warning: this is a set of "lose your lunch" images, as to what malnutrition has cost the families, and children, because food cannot get in, courtesy of US and Saudi blockades:

Images: Yemeni children starving to death, through malnutrition

I cannot believe that the architects of the French Revolution, believed for one minute, that this was going to be the outcome of a movement which preached "Libertie... Egalite... Fraternite" (Liberty/Equality/Brother and Sisterhood."

And somewhere in France, that huge thumpa-thumpa-thumpa noise you are hearing, at warp speed, is the Marquis de Lafayette, the French guy who aided the American revolution, turning over in his grave, protesting the evil the country of his birth, has become, in the 21st century.

NEW ‘CALL OF DUTY’ ENCOURAGES SUPPORT FOR THE WHITE HELMETS

The official trailer for the latest Call of Duty was released a few days ago, and it features the Syria narrative management operation known as the White Helmets depicted in heroic roles. Characters wearing the organization’s signature headgear are seen clearing rubble in part of the trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

To give you an idea how popular the CoD franchise is, as of this writing the official Youtube version of the trailer has 27 million views.

To be clear, the characters in the game are most certainly intended to resemble the White Helmets of Syria, and their presence there is most certainly intended to increase support for and interest in that group. How do I know? Its game writer has explicitly said so.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Kids who score well on computer games, and their families, can expect a call from the US military, praising their gifts, wanting to set up meetings with military recruiters, and encouraging them to enlist.

The propaganda, swirling around this group, is riddled with inaccuracies and outright lies. The Ron Paul Institute, has this to say about them>:

More lies about the White Helmets

Let us also look at what Global Research has to say about them:

What is really happening in Syria; who started the war, and who can you trust to tell the truth?!? The article goes on to state: "Mainstream media coverage of Syria has lately focused on what the U.S. calls “war crimes” in the battle for Aleppo, Syria’s largest city. But most Western media never get any closer to Aleppo than Beirut, which is not even in Syria. For their information, these media often rely on the U.S. government or groups like the White Helmets, who get funding from the U.S. and others attempting to overthrow the Syrian government. As veteran journalist Patrick Cockburn points out:

Unsurprisingly, foreign journalists covering developments in east Aleppo and rebel-held areas of Syria overwhelmingly do so from Lebanon or Turkey. A number of intrepid correspondents who tried to do eyewitness reporting from rebel-held areas swiftly found themselves tipped into the boots of cars or otherwise incarcerated."

The "White Helmets are a CIA Construct

Experience shows that foreign reporters are quite right not to trust their lives even to the most moderate of the armed opposition inside Syria. But, strangely enough, the same media organisations continue to put their trust in the veracity of information coming out of areas under the control of these same potential kidnappers and hostage takers. They would probably defend themselves by saying they rely on non-partisan activists, but all the evidence is that these can only operate in east Aleppo under license from the al- Qaeda-type groups."

And here are some other reports:

The White Helmets, to control the war crime scenes throughout the Syrian Theatre of War

Busted: Syria's White Helmets, are the CIA's "Secret Weapon to Aid Isis.

Any questions about why this group could be so misrepresented in computer games young adults love to play, should be very much understood: the US military wants younger people who play computer games well, to join it.

Just as the Chinese government is attempting to wipe the memory of Tianamen Square from the minds its citizens, the US government, and military are working very hard, to insure that the real horrors of war, are never quite presented in computer games for what they are.

I would label both attempts as RFWF (Replace facts with fantasy)

A Nuclear War Has No Victor! U.S. Military Preparation is Underway

On the international level, the U.S. government plays an even more dreadful role. According to the current U.S. foreign policy; China, Russia, North Korea, Venezuela, Iran and the major European countries are considered as adversary regimes that needs to be dealt with in one way or another. Both Democrats and Republicans believe that a major war gives them a chance to rally their national and international forces. Both parties see a major military conflict as a catalyzing factor to tilt the power for a fundamental change in their benefit. President Trump plays a unique role in flaming the trade and military wars. Since 2016, Mr. Trump’s contradictory positions on many issues have discredited his Administration and the role of the U.S. in the world.

US-Iran: Inverted Reality, Real War. America’s Al Qaeda Mercenaries. Iran is Fighting the Largest State Sponsor of Terror

For one, the Middle East already has a regional hegemon – the United States. Even the wildest accusations against Iran regarding state sponsored terrorism pale in comparison to Al Qaeda and the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIS) whose terrorism spans the globe, including standing armies operating in Libya, Syria, Yemen, and Afghanistan – several of which Iran itself is specifically fighting.

The US also supports terrorist organizations within Iran including the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK). MEK enjoys the support of National Security Adviser John Bolton – who lobbied for them for years while they were listed as a foreign terrorist organization by the US State Department itself.

Thus, Iran finds itself involved in Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon precisely to stave off openly declared intentions by the US to include Iran next under its already expansive hegemony over the Middle East.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly idiotic thing the US government might do, is no guarantee that it will not do it.

The war against Iran, being advocated by by Israel, and their "Foreign Minister" in the US, John Bolton, (yes, you read that correctly) whose sympathies and interest, lie much closer with those of the Israel government, than they with those of the American people.

Should the US embark on such a war, which will most probably include proxy military presence by Saudi Arabia, and intel from Israel, what would be stopping China and Russia from stepping in on Iran's side, and exploding this conflict from a festooning regional war to a world war?!?

The short answer is, Russia and China would have much to gain, by showing the world that their weaponry, troop strength, and tactics, could possibly knock out the US military in such a conflict.

But the question is, once US civilian and military leadership are convinced that we cannot overpower Russia and China, when will such a war go nuclear?!?

I hope that someone in the Bowels of Power in DC, is losing sleep, over this scenario; because the potential for it happening, has never been more real.

Saudi-led Air Strikes Destroyed Nearly 400 Hospitals in Yemen

Nearly 400 hospitals and medical facilities in Yemen were destroyed during the four-year war period as a result of the Saudi-led coalition air strikes, Health Ministry spokesman Youssef Hadiri said in an interview with Sputnik News, on Thursday.

“More than 375 hospitals and medical facilities were destroyed because they were hit directly or indirectly by bombs and missiles launched by the coalition,” Hadiri said.

The spokesman added that the Yemeni medical sector is in critical condition due to the war that is exacerbated by Saudi-led aggression.

Hadiri also said that more than 5,000 people in Yemen need to undergo dialysis or kidney transplants and that in the war period at least 1,200 people died from not receiving the treatment or medication needed for kidney disease. In addition, the spokesman said that the humanitarian crisis in Yemen has led to the death of more than 700,000 people.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hey, I bet you that the Butcher of Yemen, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is jumping with joy, at the huge number of non-combatants murdered outright, and the number of hospitals destroyed.

I can visualize him right now, prancing around the palace, in absolute self-absorbed delight, yelling, "We're Number One!! We're Number One!!"

And will any one of his palace staffers, or his family, have the "male attributes" necessary to take him aside, and whisper, "Sorry, your royal highness; this makes you one of the worst war criminals of the 21st century."?!?

I sure wouldn't bet on it; but I will also bet that, in the staff or his family of his BFF in Foggy Bottomsville, (President Trump), no one will have the nerve to mention this to President Trump, either.

Americans are living at the keening edge of a moral, and physical, catastrophe of Biblical proportions. And it is largely of our own making, by not holding Congress and the White House accountable for domestic and foreign policies, which may be good for the monied, and for certain foreign nations with an absolute "strangle hold" on US foreign policy, Israel being the chief offender, but generally lousy for We the People.

We have witnessed massive flooding of farm lands, meaning that crops cannot get planted, and food will have to be massively imported, and costs will go through the roof. Trade war, flooded fields leave Midwestern farmers thinking about skipping a year: 'What the heck am I doing farming?'

We are witnessing an absolute flood of illegal immigrants, which seems, at the moment, to be unstoppable; Congress must act to stop mass migration of illegal aliens;

We are seeing a massive increase of diseases which the US hasn't seen in decades, infecting people all over the place.Infections Making the Border Crisis Worse

By shunning those countries which, apparently, the Foggy Bottomites hate with an unimaginable zeal, we are turning those countries toward each other, in the arenas of economy and defense. This is just the polar opposite of what this administration should have done.

We have Russia; Iran; China: India; and North Korea very very ticked off at the US at this moment. A number of these countries are looking to drop the dollar completely from their economic dealings. China, Russia urged to Continue to Defang the US dollar.

India's trade status with the US has just been downgraded.Trump removes India from special trade status

And North Korea will not unilaterally denuclearize, until some US government "good faith" gestures are made to reciprocate those of North Korea: North Korea: the US Shouldn't Try their patience on diplomacy

And in looking at this, please remember Karl Marx said, and this has been proven true: "All wars are economic in their origin."

One can feel the tectonic vibrations of geopolitical decisions, starting to rattle and vibrate, moving this planet ever more close to another world war.

The US government believes that it has every right, to expropriate resources around the world, to which it has utterly no moral right; there's regime change, occupation, and the sure and certain knowledge, that these resources will be only sold for US dollars.

Change, rinse; repeat. We are seeing the push to maintain American hegemony, and that of the US dollar, with the current, endless US enabled wars, and sanctions, to make this so.

But every nation has a life-cycle; a beginning, a middle, and an end; and what we are observing, on a global stage, that the US is an empire in clear decline, and what we are seeing, are the death spasms of a government to keep its crumbling self together for just a little while longer.

But most probably, it will not manage to stay for a very long time; these images, of the utter squalor which has become downtown LA, tell the story quite accurately: Inside the Squalor on Sid Row, as typhoid scare grips Los Angeles

So let me ask you; are these images of a country, and culture, doing magnificently well, at this time in its history?!?

The honest, short answer here, is HELL, NO!!

Manufacturing War With Russia

Despite the Robert Mueller report’s conclusion that Donald Trump and his campaign did not collude with Russia during the 2016 presidential race, the new Cold War with Moscow shows little sign of abating. It is used to justify the expansion of NATO to Russia’s borders, a move that has made billions in profits for U.S. arms manufacturers. It is used to demonize domestic critics and alternative media outlets as agents of a foreign power. It is used to paper over the Democratic Party’s betrayal of the working class and the party’s subservience to corporate power. It is used to discredit détente between the world’s two largest nuclear powers. It is used to justify both the curtailment of civil liberties in the United States and U.S. interventions overseas—including in countries such as Syria and Venezuela. This new Cold War predates the Trump presidential campaign.

Trump’s Bellicosity Sells Weapons but Also Boosts Iran and the Palestinian Cause

Trump’s gifts to the Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu of the Syrian Golan occupied by Israel and of the whole of Israeli-occupied Jerusalem gave an enormous boost of adrenaline to all non-state actors and resistance movements in the Middle East. These groups, who enjoy financial and military support from Iran, are united not only against US hegemony but have also effectively linked themselves and their struggle to form a united front against the US and Israel. This new unity is evident from Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Lebanon to Palestine.

Webmaster's Commentary:

While I abhor all violence, what we saw against the Saudi oil ships, done by houthi rebels, may well be what the West may start to experience, intensely, courtesy of its general duplicity on the issue of Palestinian statehood, and its "manufactured" arguments with Iran, where its only "crime" has been refusing to sell its oil only in US dollars.

And I think that President Kennedy said it first, and said it best: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."

Something upon which the Foggy Bottomites; Tel Aviv; and Saudi Arabia, really need to be reflecting right now.

Cancer-causing foam could be banned in military training next year, off military bases entirely by 2029

House lawmakers would force military bases to stop using toxic firefighting foam in almost all training activities and ban them altogether over the next decade under legislation unveiled this week.

The measure, part of the House Armed Services Committee’s initial draft of the annual defense authorization bill, would also make available millions of dollars in environmental clean-up funding to National Guard bases, to address chemical contamination that can seep into groundwater and cause serious health concerns.

At issue are the use of cancer-causing perfluoroalky and polyfluoroalkyl substances ? more commonly known as PFAS ? that are found in the firefighting foam and over the years have found their way into water systems on military bases and surrounding

Webmaster's Commentary:

My question is, why will it take the US military 10 years to ban the use of a chemical which it knows is a carcinogen?!?

How are the member of the House of Representatives, going to comfort grieving families and friends of the military who will certainly get cancer, in this ten year period?!?

The only logical answer, is that people who get cancers from this foam, during this decade-long period before the ban, are expendable, because the US government is going to reinstitute the draft very soon; so if someone has a reasonable explanation, other than this, I would be very keen to hear it!!

Iran's Khamenei: Tehran will not abandon its missile programme

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday that Tehran would not be “deceived” by U.S. President Donald Trump’s offer of negotiations and would not give up its missile programme.

Iran and the United States have been drawn into starker confrontation in the past month, a year after Washington pulled out of a deal between Iran and global powers to curb Tehran’s nuclear programme in return for lifting international sanctions.

Trump has condemned the nuclear deal, signed by his predecessor Barack Obama, as flawed for not being permanent and for not covering Iran’s ballistic missile programme and its role in conflicts around the Middle East. He has called on Iran to come to negotiating table to reach a new deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word please; by withdrawing the US from the P5+1 deal (the terms of which, according to the IAEA, Iran is in compliance), you have demonstrated one thing, both to Iran and to the world; The US government is pathologically incapable of keeping its promises.

There were many criticism I had for President Obama's regime; but the P5+1 deal, was absolutely not one of those criticisms.

And I will predict that the Iranians, with a proud and lengthy history, as a people, will not come back to re-negotiate what you pulled of in the first place.

The power of the presidency... should not be wielded in a "Sword of Damocles" manner; and too many times, since you have taken office, your attitude appears to have been one of "My way... or the highway!!" This has burnt a lot of bridges, geopolitically.

And if you catch my drift, bridges, upon which can be can be traveled, to reach and suggest room for negotiation, are generally bad things to burn, because there is no going back.

I am thinking, sir, of our current adversarial relationship with China; North Korea; Russia; Iran; and the Philippines.

So, Mr. President, just what is the US government's "plan" for Iran?!?

Are you going for a decap strike against Iran, which, fearful for its own survival, just may just invite China and Russia, militarily, "to the dance"?!?

We have seen Russia's weaponry on display in Syria, where it has made short work of American trained/funded jihadis.

Mr. President, I would strongly caution you to pick the US government's fights, which will involve our troops, and their very lives, extremely carefully.

The future existence of this country, depends upon it.

The American Cult of Bombing and Endless War

In a bizarre fashion, you might even say that, in the twenty-first century, the bomb and missile count replaced the Vietnam-era body count as a metric of (false) progress. Using data supplied by the U.S. military, the Council on Foreign Relations estimated that the U.S. dropped at least 26,172 bombs in seven countries in 2016, the bulk of them in Iraq and Syria. Against Raqqa alone, ISIS’s “capital,” the U.S. and its allies dropped more than 20,000 bombs in 2017, reducing that provincial Syrian city to literal rubble. Combined with artillery fire, the bombing of Raqqa killed more than 1,600 civilians, according to Amnesty International.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is very difficult, being a person with a conscience, and as a Christian, to understand, fully, that the country of which she is a citizen, holds the record, big-time, for being a nation steeped in blood, from its war crimes.

The US government, for a long time, has been the agent of death, despair, and anger, because of its policy of expropriating resources, to which it has no moral right, through regime change and war, and ultimately making sure that those resources are only sold in the US dollar.

And unfortunately, fast forwarding to the ultimate conclusion of these activities, thee are only two outcomes which are possible; the economic collapse of the US, or a world war.

With a national debt of $22 trillion that we know about, and punch-drunk with its military power, the US government is going to continue these wars... until it is absolutely bankrupt, because it can figure no other way out.

So the only advice I can offer at this time, is prep; keep your ears to the ground as to what is really going on; and know how to protect yourself, and the people you care about, when the excrement hits the ventilation system.

Trump 'Prepared' For Responsibility Of Using Nukes

In a wide-ranging interview with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, President Trump said that he's ready to press the nuclear button if and when the time comes.

When asked if he would negotiate with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to avoid war, Trump said "Of course. I've said that and he's said that. I know so much about nuclear weapons and I see the horrible damage done. I don't want that."

Morgan then asked Trump if he would press the nuclear button, to which Trump replied: "I think it’s a terrible responsibility but one I’m prepared to handle," adding "I don’t want to have to think about it, but there may be a time when I do have to think about it."

North Korea Says US Shouldn’t Try Their Patience on Diplomacy

Officials say US must come up with a new approach 'before it is too late'

With no progress being made in talks between the US in North Korea since the failed Hanoi Summit, North Korea is warning that deals reached at last year’s summit could also be at risk if the US doesn’t start coming up with a new effort to resume talks.

The statement cautions that the US must abandon its demands for unilateral North Korean disarmament “before it is too late,” and that if the US continues to test North Korean patience, the joint Singapore declaration would end up a “mere blank sheet of paper.”

North Korea has been calling for a new US approach for months, but so far the signs are that there will be no change.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has insisted that the US will hold North Korea to commitments to unilaterally disarm.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And the reason for Pompeo saying this is.... illogical in the extreme.

Kim Jung Un understands how power politics is played, and becoming a nuclear nation, is one of the ways to enhance the power of the country which has them.

This means you cannot get "stepped on" by people who want the resources which exist in your country; without a nuclear arsenal, North Korea could get militarily "rolled" in a heartbeat.

And if Kim Jung Un understands this, then Mike Pompeo should understand this also.

Unilateral denuclearization was never, ever going to work; or perhaps, is this "not working", part of the US plan to overpower North Korea militarily?!?

And has President Trump discussed his plans for moving forward against North Korea, and gotten an approval for it from China's President, Xi Jinping?!?

The short answer here, most likely, is HELL, NO!!!

Mr. President, a word, please; I would like to politely remind you, that China is a nuclear-armed nation.

And living on a first-strike target, color me very nervous about how you appear to be setting up the US for a military conflict with both China and North Korea.

Mr. President, I understand that just because a concept is completely ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid for the US government to do, unfortunately, is no guarantee, that it will not do it.

Please, rethink this; or have you already decided Hawaii is going to be the "sacrificial lamb target for justifying this next war?!?

It has happened before, as you well know;

How US "good guys" wiped out an Afghan family

It was 4am when Masih Ur-Rahman Mubarez’s wife Amina called, an unusually early time for their daily chat. When he picked up the phone, he could hear the panic in her voice.

The call ended with Masih saying he would call again when things had calmed. But at 9am, when he dialed his wife’s number, her phone was off. He tried again at 9.30am. Still off. Through the whole of that day and the next, he repeatedly called. But Amina’s phone remained off.

It took another day for him to the learn the truth. Relatives avoided his calls or gave vague replies to his questions, until finally his brother broke the news. “He tried to avoid telling me the whole story, but I insisted that he tell me the truth,” Masih recalled in a wavering voice. “He told me to have patience in God - no one is left.”

An airstrike on Masih’s house had killed his wife and all his seven children, alongside four young cousins. His youngest child was just four years old.

This absolutely sickens me, understanding that the US has risen to the dubious distinction of being the top war crimes nation on this planet.

US approved transfer of nuclear expertise to Riyadh after Khashoggi murder - Approvals allow US companies to discuss and work on nuclear-related projects in the Gulf kingdom

The Donald Trump administration issued two authorisations for the transfer of technical "nuclear expertise" to Saudi Arabia after the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi late last year, US Senator Tim Kaine has revealed.

Kaine, a Democrat from Virginia, where Khashoggi resided, called the decision "shocking" - as it came amid global outrage over the Saudi journalist's gruesome murder on 2 October.

The two approvals were issued on 18 October - only 16 days after Khashoggi was killed - and on 18 February, respectively.

Known as "Part 810 authorisations", they allow US companies to discuss and work on nuclear-related projects in the Gulf kingdom.

"I have serious questions about whether any decisions on nuclear transfers were made based on the Trump family's financial ties rather than the interests of the American people," Kaine said in a statement on Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder; since this permission came down just two weeks after the Kashoggi assassination, did President Trump know this was going down before it happened?!?

I am sorry to suggest, but have to state, that this... is the "opening of Pandora's Box", by the US government; and I suspect that it will rue the day when it happened, and Saudi Arabia has an impressive nuclear arsenal.

Against what country in the region Saudi Arabia will first attempt to use these weapons?!? Color Iran as the most likely recipient of the brutal damage from a nuclear bombing.

So what will Iran ultimately do, faced with this predicament?!? Develop nuclear bombs of their own, and I would likely suggest, this could happen very quickly, if they approached Pakistan for their nuclear technology.

Trump's Space Command nominee warns of 'substantial' set-up challenges

The Trump administration’s nominee to lead its new U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM) warned lawmakers on Tuesday there would be “substantial” challenges in standing up such an arm of the military.

Air Force Gen. John Raymond, who currently serves as head of Air Force Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, made his way easily through his confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee with little pushback or calls to explain the details of how the Pentagon plans to stand up the new combatant command. The task is expected to cost millions and require hundreds of personnel to transfer from other areas of the military.

The Air Force’s fiscal year 2020 budget request, for example, asks for nearly $84 million to start SPACECOM.

US strategic bomber & aircraft carrier drill ‘strike operations’ on Iran’s doorstep (PHOTOS)

Multiple US Air Force aircraft, including a B-52 strategic bomber, have joined the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea for a ‘simulated strike operations’ exercise to prepare to take on Iran “when called upon.”
The drills witnessed F/A-18 Super Hornets, MH-60 Sea Hawk helicopters, and E-2D Growlers from the USS Abraham Lincoln mastering joint maneuvers to improve their “operational tactics in several warfare areas,” US Naval Forces Central Command said on Sunday. Among other “joint training evolutions,” the US Air Force participated in “strike coordination and reconnaissance exercises.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just what forces in the White House, or Pentagon, have ordered this "picador" maneuver, to get the Iranian military to engage?!?

One has to wonder if those planning such actions are DC's "Gruesome
Two-some", Bolton and Pompeo, who have never seen a military conflict, potentially causing thousands of Americans to die, or be maimed for life, that they didn't love.

Since President Trump's outsourcing his Middle Eastern foreign policy to Israel, things in the region have gone from bad to worse.

And we have a companion piece, which bears both notice, and scrutiny:

Trump says there is ‘always a chance’ of war with Iran

Mr. President, this intellectual whiplash is not playing out well, in the heartland.

And if you don't believe that the policy makers in Iran have this behaviour well and truly pegged, you are getting truly lousy advice from those around you.

So, Mr. President, a word, please: you cannot revoke your responsibility here as Commander in Chief; because if you let Pompeo, Bolton, and Netanyahu drive American foreign policy in this region, I would almost predict that the US will be embroiled in either a regional war, or a world war by the end of this year.

EMINENT AMERICAN SCIENTIST: SYRIAN CHEMICAL WEAPONS ATTACK WAS STAGED

Published: June 4, 2019

SOURCE: WASHINGTON'S BLOG
Theodore A. Postol is one of the nation’s top scientists. He is a professor emeritus of science, technology, and national security policy at MIT.

Postol’s main expertise is in ballistic missiles. He has a substantial background in air dispersal, including how toxic plumes move in the air, and has taught courses on weapons of mass destruction – including chemical and biological threats – at MIT.

Postol sent Washington’s Blog his brand new analysis of the Syrian chemical weapons attack in Douma. He sent the following “cover letter” email to me, summarizing his new findings:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, someone put this report underneath President Trump's nose, (gently) and don't take it away until he has read this.

IF a guy with credentials like this, has made this analysis, it is only right, fair, and moral of Trump's advisors to make sure he has digested this information.

I would be severely disappointed for Trump had known about this all along, yet not totally shocked.

I am severely disappointed with his "performance", both literally and metaphorically, as President right now.

‘Americans are war-weary, while Iran was never a threat to us’ – Virginia State senator to RT

US citizens are weary of endless wars, Virginia State Senator Richard Black believes. He warned President Donald Trump against dragging the country into another one with Iran, and blamed John Bolton for being the top warmonger.

As tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to soar, Senator Black has addressed the US president in a letter, warning against going into an all-out war with Iran. He squarely put the blame for the ongoing standoff on National Security Advisor John Bolton, and urged Trump to prevent the official from “usurping” his own role.

American Second World War veterans return to Normandy beaches to pay tribute to their fallen comrades 75 years after they sacrificed their lives

Second World War veterans from the US have returned to the Normandy D-Day beaches 75 years on to pay tribute to their fallen comrades who sacrificed their lives.

Gathering on Omaha Beach in France, the former-soldiers saluted the friends who died during the landings and war that stretched from 1939 to 1945.

PIERS MORGAN: The real big baby in London this week is Mayor Khan - a petty little pipsqueak who'd shamefully rather mock and humiliate the President of Britain's greatest ally than honor the D-Day heroes of both our nations

This week, we commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, the largest seaborne invasion in history.

It was the crucial turning point in the war with Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, one that began the liberation of German-occupied France and laid the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front.

Stryker brigade will convert to armor this month as Army goes heavy for near-peer battle

Later this month the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division will officially convert to an armored BCT, one of the many moves the Army is making to bring heavier firepower to bear in any potential near-peer fight.

The shift was announced last year by Army Secretary Mark Esper. Then-Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Lt. Gen. Joseph Anderson laid out details of the plan for Army Times.

The reflagging ceremony is scheduled for June 20. The change involves bringing in new soldiers, refurbishing and refitting equipment and infrastructure at Fort Bliss, Texas, home of the 1st Armored Division.

Washington’s Mighty Warriors: Draft Dodgers and Scoundrels

Remember Shakespeare’s line “he jests at scars that never felt a wound?” That epithet could have been written with National Security Advisor John Bolton in mind. Bolton was notoriously a draft dodger during the Vietnam War, like his current boss, not due to any scruples regarding what was occurring, but out of concern for his own sorry ass. He is now credibly believed to be the driving force behind the punishment being meted out to Venezuela and, far more dangerously, of the creeping escalation that is taking place in the Middle East that is seeking to draw Iran into a misstep that would lead to war. Bolton, who has received the “Defender of Israel” award, has long been an outspoken advocate for attacking Iran and now he has the power to do just that.

NEW SNOWDEN LEAKED MEMOS SHOW NSA AIDED ISRAEL'S "TARGETED ASSASSINATIONS"

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE

A couple of new bombshell leaked NSA documents from the Snowden archive published days ago by The Intercept confirms the extremely close level of cooperation between American and Israeli intelligence services, especially as part of the so-called "global war on terror" since 9/11. The documents reveal the NSA even assisted in an aggressive targeted assassination campaign waged by Israel inside Lebanon, especially during the 2006 Lebanon War.

According to The Intercept's report — aptly titled "Israel Hated American Ban on Sharing Intel for Assassinations, so US Made New Rules" —the newly unearthed NSA memos reveal attempts to find a legal loophole of sorts on the part of the US intelligence officials which would allow unprecedented information sharing related to a deeply controversial targeted assassination campaign by Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me completely unsurprised by this.

What Israel wants is what Israel gets, in terms of US intelligence; and the targeted killings continue; no judge, no jury, no rule of law whatsoever.

And would someone please like to enlighten me, as to why Israel has zero constitution, after 71 years of existence?!?

Is by chance, or by design, so it can continue killing innocent Palestinians particularly the children, with utterly no legal mechanism for stopping this?!?

One does have to wonder.....

US Hits EU With Ultimatum to Save Close Ties to American Arms Industry - Report

The Western alliance has come under increasing strain in recent years amid President Trump's insistence that NATO's European members commit more to defence spending, and reports that the president has repeatedly raised the issue of withdrawing Washington from the bloc.

The Trump administration has presented America's European allies with an "ultimatum" demanding that the countries make changes to their defence policy to ensure that Europe remains closely linked to US defence manufacturers in the creation of new arms, El Pais has reported, citing documents from a meeting in Washington, DC on 22 May between US officials and members of the EU's Political & Security Committee.

According to the Spanish newspaper, US officials warned their EU counterparts that they may be left alone in the face of threats, supposedly including Russia, if Brussels rejected the US defence companies' participation in the creation of new weapons systems.

Philippines president says S. China Sea becoming ‘flashpoint’

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has urged progress on a code of conduct for the contested South China Sea, which, he warned, was becoming a “flashpoint.”

Speaking at an economic forum in Tokyo on Friday, Duterte veered off script with remarks about the resource-rich sea, over most of which China claims sovereignty, despite competing claims from the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan and Vietnam, AFP said.

TALIBAN LEADER PLEDGES TO KEEP FIGHTING IN EID MESSAGE

SOURCE: ALJAZEERA.COM
The Afghan Taliban is unlikely to call a ceasefire any time soon, the group's leader has indicated, even though the "doors of dialogue" with the United States to end the 18-year-long war in the country remain open.

In his annual message on Saturday, ahead of next week's Eid al-Fitr holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Mullah Haibatullah Akhunzada pledged to continue fighting until the group's objectives were reached.

"No one should expect us to pour cold water on the heated battlefronts of Jihad or forget our 40-year sacrifices before reaching our objectives," he said in the message, adding that the Taliban aimed for "an end to the occupation and establishment of an Islamic system".

His statement comes days after a Taliban official said that "decent progress" had been made during talks with a group of senior Afghan politicians in Moscow.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are some grave, and heady reasons, that Afghanistan is called "The graveyard of Empires"; Alexander the Great was the last ruler who was able to hold the place together, by a system of alliances and dynastic marriages, but was only able to get this to stay in place for just three years.

The UK ultimately realized this; the Russians ultimately realized this; and at some point, in this unGodly, immoral occupation, the US government, has to realize this.

Please understand; no American teenager of the age of 18, has ever seen the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, in a state of peace, and creating responsible, decent, and moral, trade relationships with countries around the world.

And it doesn't matter which party is allegedly running the country, the agenda of wars, and US economic dollar hegemony, wil never quit, until, ultimately, it has to.

This reality... hurts my heart. But there is nothing to be done immediately, before this country collapses in a Soviet-Union style collapse, or creates a war so devastating that it may well destroy most life on this planet, as we know it.

The only thing we can do, right now, is to know who our friends and intentional family are, who will really come through in a pinch, and collaborate with them in order to survive, at every level.

MAJOR ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES KILL UP TO 10 PRO-ASSAD FORCES IN PRE-DAWN RAID

SOURCE: ZEROHEDGE

Israel has admitted responsibility in a significant overnight attack on Syria which reportedly killed up to ten pro-Assad forces, including possibly seven of what the Israeli media is claiming were Iranian and Hezbollah "foreign fighters".

The predawn raid took place south of Damascus in Quneitra province and unlike prior Israeli attacks appeared to included a multi-pronged sustained offensive of warplanes and helicopters on artillery and intelligence facilities. Syrian state media confirmed the attack, saying its anti-air defenses were active and successful over Quneitra and over the capital of Damascus, but put its early casualties as three killed and seven among the wounded.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a point past which Russia cannot continue to tolerate these strikes in Syria; there will have to be a point where either they, or the Syrian military, will have to be much more aggressive to keep Israel from bombing more of Syria; and this country cannot tolerate much more of this bombing happening.

I would like to hope that Putin will phone Netanyahu, at some ungodly hour in the Middle East, and demand that this bombing stop.
