Joe Scarborough Slams Dems For Attacking Obama's Policies More Than Trump's

MSNBC Host Joe Scarborough of MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' complained in a tweet last night that the Democratic contenders onstage last night for Pt. 2 of the second Democratic debate spent more time attacking President Barack Obama's policies than they spent attacking President Donald Trump.

Though Scarborough also inadvertently admitted something important: The Democratic Party of today isn't the same party from 2016. Instead, even candidates who once believed themselves to be part of the mainstream have embraced policies that are much further to the left, largely thanks to the influence of "the Squad" and their fellow progressives, who have been gaining influence in Washington since the mid-terms.

Scarborough is probably also referring to the fact that Biden and Harris, the two front runners who participated in Wednesday night's debate, were lightning rods for criticism. Bill de Blasio and others got into a huge debate with Biden over health-care reform, even prompting Biden to declare these criticisms of Obamacare "malarky".

Biden was also attacked over the 800,000 deportations that occurred during the Obama Administration, which seemed to support the Trump Administration's argument that Trump's supposedly "draconian" border policies are merely a continuation of the Obama years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When I was a kid, coming up in what could only be considered a very genteel kind of poverty (but all the other kids in my neighborhood came out of the absolutely same environment, so I really didn't notice until I thought about it years later), my parents encouraged me to thrive where I could, and that education would always be important.

I did go on to receive my bachelor's degree, with honors, at a state college, and the family value here was, that even if I didn't love what I did, I could always find someone who would hire me, which ultimately proved true.

I never took a welfare check, or unemployment check, even though I qualified, during those transitionary points when I was between jobs; and it was kind of a matter of both pride and principal, that I did not do this.

But now, it appears that I am being "commanded" by the Democratic Party, to accept, house, feed, clothe, and educate every illegal alien who comes to this country, so my logical question is, "Why"?!?

Why should American taxpayers be burdened with the costs attached to assisting people who broke the law to be here?!?? And what guarantees do I have at the end of the day, from my government, that those people who are educated, clothed, fed, and housed by this government, will have the ability to become productive citizens once they have been through this process?

This, for me, is the crux of the problem.

With the rise of AI, and the automation of so many processes as to become dizzying to contemplate, the US can no longer be that America to which Emma Lazarus alluded in her poem, The New Colossus:

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

That late 20th century testament to the possibility that one could work hard, and provide a decent life for one's self and one's family, with utterly no education, and be almost unable to speak the language of your adopted country, no longer exists in 21st America.

So why are these people, generally with no skills, no education, and no capability to speak the English language so critically important to the Dementocrats, and why now?!?

Unless one has been living under a rock since the 2016 elections, one has to understand the following, and why this is seen as so critical at this point in time; the Democrats want to see these people voting in 2020, even if they are still illegal, and undocumented, to turn the tide for the Democratic party's fortunes.

The Democrats used to be the party of the working middle class: not any more. Were my late Dad to see the degree to which this party has morphed into a caricature of its former self, he would be weeping uncontrollably.

Although our Australian brothers and sisters have a very draconian way of dealing with illegal immigrants, their concept for citizenship is based on a merit system, and this is a smart way to look at immigration, where citizenship becomes a privilege, and those becoming Australian citizens would be "the best of the best".

Can someone please tell me, where and why this is wrong?!?

We are dealing with a crippling national debt, which cannot be resolved.

I mean, hell; it's not their money, so they can do with taxpayer revenue as they wish, right?!?

We have neither a Representative Congress, nor a Representative Administration, at this point in this country's history; we have a government of the monied, for the monied, and by the monied.

And to Vice President Biden, a word, please, on Obamacare; the ACA was written by, for, and of the Insurance Executives who supported Obama:
