Torture crimes may be whitewashed in 9/11 Commission type investigation

Barack Obama is discovering that there are some things a president cannot control — like whether Bush administration officials who authorized the use of forceful interrogation tactics in the months after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks will face a public reckoning and potential legal sanctions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Don't kid yourselves. If Obama was really interested in upholding the law the torturers would be in jail already.

UK probe to touch arms export to Israel

Britain has promised to probe into its sale of military equipment to Israel amid pressure over its contribution to the Gaza aggression.

FLASHBACK - Olmert Reminds The World–“We, The Jewish People, Control America”

Prime Minister Olmert, in behavior similar to that of some wise guy/mob boss who has just beat the rap as a result of yanking the chain of some judge or prosecutor on his payroll, stated in plain language at the convened press conference in Ashkelon that it was he, acting on behalf of Israel, who “made the call” to Bush and brought about the US abstention of vote at the UN. In his own words, upon learning of the “unacceptable” language contained in the resolution, (no doubt obtained by spies working within the State Dept who got their grubby little hands on a pilfered copy) he dropped a dime and put in a call to Bush only to learn that the President was busy giving a speech.

U.S. Might Not Try Pro-Israel Lobbyists

The U.S. government may abandon espionage-law charges against two former lobbyists for a pro-Israel advocacy group, officials said yesterday, as a prominent House lawmaker denied new allegations that she offered to use her influence in their behalf.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am going to suggest that Israel leaked the story about Harman being on tape to send a warning to Washington DC that putting Rosen and Weissman on trial would result in the total exposure of Israel's influence over the entire US Government.

Washington DC has apparently heard the shot across the bow, which means Israel's spies will get a free pass.

So instead of the specter of Harman selling out the country to Israel, you get to see the entire US Government sell out the country to Israel.

The Pulitzer-winning investigation that dare not be uttered on TV

The New York Times' David Barstow won a richly deserved Pulitzer Prize yesterday for two articles that, despite being featured as major news stories on the front page of The Paper of Record, were completely suppressed by virtually every network and cable news show, which to this day have never informed their viewers about what Barstow uncovered. Here is how the Pulitzer Committee described Barstow's exposés:

Awarded to David Barstow of The New York Times for his tenacious reporting that revealed how some retired generals, working as radio and television analysts, had been co-opted by the Pentagon to make its case for the war in Iraq, and how many of them also had undisclosed ties to companies that benefited from policies they defended.

'Same people defending torture' ignored 9/11 warnings

In the end, all of this propaganda and it is entirely propaganda (again, find me one former CIA officer willing to support this argument) – the very same people who are out defending torture as a necessary tool in their falsely constructed “war on terror” are the very same people who had the intelligence to stop the 9/11 attacks literally delivered to them and did nothing. These people who ignored multiple and various warnings from the CIA, foreign governments, and so forth, did nothing and that intelligence was obtained without the use of torture. Yet these very same people are arguing that the only way to stop terrorism is through the torture of suspects?

Video - The Mafia, the CIA and Bush Sr.

The scam works as follows: an organized crime group takes over a business, borrows as much as it can in the business' name, fails to pay vendors and then disappears with all the cash.

The Bush family and its associates in organized crime and the CIA have figured out how to run this scam on a multi-hundred billion dollar level using the entire US banking system as its playground.

When you consider that Reagan was probably out of it from Day One of his term and that Bill Clinton is a close associate of George Bush Sr., the Bush crime syndicate has been influencing when not outright running the executive branch continuously since 1980, which, perhaps not so coincidentally, marks the earliest days of the credit bubble the economy is now having serious trouble digesting.

Piracy Off The Promised Land

Wide publicity has been given to piracy in Somalian waters since Captain Phillips of the American crewed Maersk Alabama was captured. The arrival of a US missile cruiser and US destroyer added the tension and glamour required by the Hollywood confederation. The killing of three young Somalians and the release of the captain provided the blood and the triumph for the star spattered banner.

Why is it that little is heard of the piracy off the coast of the Zionist entity and the strip it dominates called Gaza? In contrast to the actions of young Muslim fishermen from an impoverished and broken Somalian nation, the entity carries out its piracy under the title of the Israeli Occupation Force, out of a country with the greatest wealth and with the pretence of a fully fledged legal system.

Were Other Congress People - Besides Harman - Also Blackmailed By Bush Administration?

There are several serious issues here. One is the extraordinary glimpse it offers into the extent to which Israel has penetrated the centers of power in Washington. It is illegal for foreign governments to directly lobby and to offer to arrange financial contributions for members of the US government, but here, clearly, Israeli agents were doing just that. The role of AIPAC as a front for the Israeli government in Washington, as exposed here, is simply stomach-turning, and should make it a toxic organization to politicians. Instead, they flock enmasse to its annual meetings, as President Obama did almost immediately upon winning the November election, and a large proportion of both houses from both parties happily accept its campaign largesse.

California GOP Decries Anti-Semitic Tea Party Activism

Chairman Nehring issued the statement in response to the use of anti-Semitic graphics used on the "Bay Area Ron Paul Campaign for Liberty" website in conjunction with the April 15 TEA Party in San Mateo. "I don't know if I will have the merit of doing something that is the aspiration of every Jew," said Feiglin. "But if I become prime minister I will take away control over the Temple Mount from the Wakf [the Islamic trust] and reinstate Jewish sovereignty over the entire mount and, hopefully, rebuild the Temple."

Power, humiliation and torture

The assumption inside the administration was that if its harsh methods could be presented as having been effective in preventing subsequent acts of terrorism, then pragmatic Americans would have less concern about the moral qualms of the administration’s critics — individuals who could be dismissed as civil liberties fanatics.

The moral question of whether the state can be allowed to use torture as a method of extra-judicial punishment and retribution rarely if ever entered the debate. But the evidence now suggests that it should.

US rejects an Israeli demand

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the US Middle East envoy George Mitchell on Thursday that his government would condition talks over Palestinian statehood on the Palestinians first recognising Israel as a Jewish state.

"Israel expects the Palestinians to first recognise Israel as a Jewish state before talking about two states for two peoples," a senior official in Mr Netanyahu's office quoted the new prime minister as saying. Statements from the US State Department indicated that the Obama administration regards such an Israeli condition as unacceptable, saying that the United States would continue to promote a two-state solution.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a classic Israeli tactic, to demand that the other side give Israel what it wants before Israel decides whether or not to give the other side what it wants.

Israel demands Palestine recognize Israel's right to exist, yet refuses Palestine the very same thing, and it is this hypocrisy, this blatant double standard which lies at the heart of 60 years of unending hostility and war in the region.

Peace will come when Israel grants to others only that which it demands for itself; a right to exist.

Last year, it was expected that it would have been hotting up after a quiet spell. But instead it hit a 50-year year low in solar wind pressure, a 55-year low in radio emissions, and a 100-year low in sunspot activity.

According to Prof Louise Hara of University College London, it is unclear why this is happening or when the Sun is likely to become more active again.

Silvan Shalom's comments on Tuesday come after Ahmadinejad called Israel a "racist" state during a United Nations conference in Switzerland.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ever notice how upset Israel gets when anyone compares it to the Nazi state, yet Israel will not hesitate to equate other countries with Nazi Germany.

The fact is that after you get past the media hype, Ahmadinejad made some pretty accurate observations.

Meltdown losses of '$4 trillion'

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned that potential losses from the credit crunch could reach $4 trillion (£2.75tn) and damage the financial system for years to come.

It says that even if urgent action is taken to clean up the banking system, the process will be "slow and painful", delaying economic recovery.

It says that banks may need $1.7 trillion in additional capital.

But it warns that political support for further bank bail-outs is waning.

Told you so, Harper says as Iran stirs UN uproar

Yesterday's opening session of the second United Nations World Conference Against Racism in Geneva could be described as an international circus.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Reader comment) Once again, Canada's whornalists are shilling for Israel. Did the leader of Iran really say what they are claiming here? I doubt it. And so do many of the people posting comments:

Especially check out the agree/disagree ratings on each comment. People are not buying this shit one bit, and they are not agreeing with the politically correct sheep/megaphonies trying to skew the commentary.

Israel wants to buy U.S. missile defense system

JERUSALEM - Defense Minister Ehud Barak hopes to buy a U.S. missile defense system to protect Israeli towns from short-range rockets and mortar fire, defense officials said Tuesday.

Barak plans to ask U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates to sell Israel the Vulcan-Phalanx cannon and radar system when he visits Washington in June, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity as the request has not yet formally been made.

The Vulcan-Phalanx — manufactured by U.S. company Raytheon Co. — is to be integrated into a multilayer defense umbrella that will include Israel's Iron Dome and two other missile systems being developed with the United States, the officials said.

Who sat on Harman's wiretap for four years and why is it just now being exposed?

California Rep. and Democrat Jane Harman is apparently guilty of treason, it was reported last night. The story is reported by Jeff Stein of Congressional Quarterly here.

Knowing that all high ranking political players are kept in line by bribes and blackmail, I can only assume that Harman has now in some way disobeyed her handlers, and voila! this incriminating tape from October 2005 suddenly surfaces.

This should consume the front pages of the MSM for weeks to come -- but with AIPAC's firm grip on American newsrooms and editors' testicles, it won't.

Ideal Israeli soldiers not only killers, but thieves

The old man sat in the light of a kerosene lamp and looked bleakly ahead. His wife sat in the opposite corner, crying loudly “They soiled our sheets, haram, haram, they broke our bed, fired guns in our bed and,” the old man said, “they took all our money. The day after they left, we found a 100 shekel note in the garden, that’s all”

(Further evidence the Israelis seem intent on making living conditions so horrible for the Palestinians that the ones they do not kill outright will eventually be forced to flee their homes and farms, leaving them for the thieving Israeli settlers to take over unopposed. /SR)

Police State USA?

A police state unquestionably exists when:

1. Federal executive and legislative powers make domestic spying on US citizens legal

2. Federal and state political and police mechanisms:

* Steal elections

* Shut down media coverage after they steal an election

* Serve the central government instead of serving the citizens

* Enforce the policies of the central government instead of responding primarily to criminal misdeeds

* Spy on and intimidate citizens

All these conditions now exist in the United States!

Worse Than Bush

Not only did Obama managed to change the draft text of the conference to omit mentions of the racism inherent to Zionism and the Israeli state, and followed that by having all the side activities critical of Israel pushed out side of the conference, but also he boycotted the conference, influencing a slew of western countries that, despite histories rich with racism and colonialism, had some qualms about associating with Bush.

So be careful, if Obama looks better than Bush, it means you just don’t know how he’s about to screw you. Careful Cuba and Venezuela. And if you’re looking for a black president to finally make America discuss its history of racism, wait a little longer.

Funding the new global currency - Obama Proposes $100 Billion Loan for I.M.F.

The New York Times - WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama Monday proposed a $100 billion U.S. loan to the International Monetary Fund to boost the IMF's war chest and urged a bigger stake in the IMF for emerging powers like China and India.

In a letter sent to Democrat and Republican leaders in the U.S. Congress, Obama said the U.S. funding "does not represent a budgetary expenditure or any increase in the deficit since it effectively represents an exchange of assets."

[This is such gross propaganda, no self-respecting journalist would claim the piece as his own.]

The Harman-AIPAC Story: A Timeline

CQ's blockbuster story, about a wiretap that picked up Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) discussing the AIPAC spying case with a "suspected Israeli agent", picks up on a sequence of complex events from several years ago, and involves several moving pieces.

So we thought it would be worthwhile to put together a timeline of events laying out the major reported developments in this sprawling story.

Credit Card Issuers Brace for Stern Warning

Another sign the nation’s in a credit hangover: The heads of credit card divisions of over a dozen banks will meet with President Obama at the White House on Thursday, as Congress tries to crack down on the industry’s tricky ways. A House bill will seek to prohibit credit card companies from hiking interest rates on existing balances, charging late fees early, and charging interest on debt that was paid on time. Another bill in the Senate would go even further, prohibiting the companies from aggressively marketing to people under 21, raising interest rates for any reason, or charging fees to make a payment. Obama is said to support something stricter than the House bill but not as harsh as the Senate proposal.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney says the Obama administration should release all the CIA interrogation memos and documents—to demonstrate the “success” of the harsh methods.

"One of the things that I find a little bit disturbing about this recent disclosure is they put out the legal memos, the memos that the CIA got from the Office of Legal Counsel, but they didn’t put out the memos that showed the success of the effort.”

When the bottom is reached - You'll know it - Debt Settlers Offer Promises but Little Help

The New York Times David Streitfeld - Tyna Carter, burdened with $25,000 in credit card debt, did not want to be a deadbeat. After looking for help on the Internet, Mrs. Carter, a West Virginia homemaker, wound up in the hands of a sweet-talking “credit specialist” from Texas.

He claimed his company, Credit Solutions of America, could set her on the road to a debt-free life. But what really happened, Mrs. Carter says, is that Credit Solutions pocketed nearly $4,000 of the couple’s income, a little bit each month. Now they are in a deeper hole than ever.

History Repeats: A Manufactured Crisis to Loot and Consolidate

Amazing how this “Bailout” parallels the “Banking Crisis” in 1907. JP Morgan caused a run on banks, which then allowed him to scoop up lots of other banks at bargain prices… and 100 years later we have:

* JP Morgan buys Washington Mutual for Pennies
* Get ready for a wave of bank failures
* JP Morgan buys Bear Stearns for almost nothing
