Spain seeks EU backing on plan to lift Israeli blockade of Gaza

Spain is drawing up new proposals for lifting Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip as the EU scrambles to forge an effective policy following international outrage over the killing of nine pro-Palestinian Turkish activists in a "freedom flotilla".

Miguel Moratinos, the Spanish foreign minister, is to present Madrid's ideas to EU colleagues next Monday amid signs of disagreement between member states and demands for tougher action.

To the Apartheid State

To the Apartheid State of the Twenty-First Century:

Your raid on the Freedom Flotilla outraged the international community. The people are outraged and rightly so, and their protests, marches, and blog posts reflect this. Who exactly is this international community though? Is it not the same one that stood by idly eighteen months ago when the Israeli army turned Gaza into an open air prison? After all, we've let you get away with violating the Geneva Convention every day for the past 60 years, and you maintain the abhorrent distinction of being the only country in the world that has legalized torture.

FLASHBACK - Israel Admits Hamas Did Not Break Cease Fire

Jun 10 14:26

Gaza Is in Our Hearts

Perhaps the greatest of all historical ironies — reflected in hypocrisy assuming gargantuan proportions — rests with how those who were so horribly victimized by the Holocaust essentially hold a Gestapo outlook toward Palestinians today.

Good and evil have traded places, an astonishing transition brought about by concretizing the “Never Again!” reaction to what European Jewry experienced under Hitler to such a dogmatic hard line, myopically advanced by an increasingly extremist Israeli leadership, that much of Israel’s population simply can’t recognize what’s plainly evident to most of the rest of the world.

Canada: Legitimizing Israeli Terrorism

Beyond making Canada the world’s most pro-Israel country, the Harper government has strongly backed Israel’s onslaught against the 1.5 million people living in Gaza. Canada has refused to criticize the blockade. For example, Canada was the only country at the UN Human Rights Council to vote against a January 2008 resolution that called for “urgent international action to put an immediate end to the siege of the occupied Gaza Strip”. The motion was adopted with 30 votes in favour and 15 abstentions.

Israeli Official Threatens to Kill Turkish PM

Uzi Dayan, former deputy Chief of General Staff in Israel, says the Jewish state should consider a possible Turkish military escort of Gaza aid ships an act of war. “If the Turkish prime minister joins such a flotilla,” Dayan told Israeli army radio, according to the Jerusalem Post, “we should make clear beforehand this would be an act of war, and we would not try to take over the ship he was on, but would sink it.”

It is unprecedented for a top level state official to threaten a head of another state with murder.

In our school we were taught that Democracy is sacred, that Freedom is sacred. Those are the values we live by today.

Unfortunately Israel, which has been my home for nearly 26 years, does not live by these values. Israel has been/is building a wall of Apartheid to separate Jews from Palestinians.

Israel has illegally occupied all areas belonging to Palestine for the past 43 years, denying them a chance to live as a free people.

For the past 63 years Israel has been involved in a Genocide against the civilians of Palestine, a genocide that continues without condemnation.

Let the Palestinians Eat Potato Chips

At first glance, I thought I was reading a parody mocking the absurd list of the products that are banned from reaching Gaza. The Associated Press just published an article titled “Israel Eases Gaza Blockade on Some Banned Foods.” That seemed like a promising headline. It now appears that the Israelis will permit the Gazans to import soda, juice, jam, spices, shaving cream, potato chips, cookies and candy. That’s it. No steel – no cement – nothing that can be used for rebuilding the thousands of homes, hospitals, schools, sewage plants and mosques that were reduced to rubble in last year’s carpet bombing of Gaza. What the AP failed to report is the long list of food products that still remain on the black list.

Coast Guard’s Expert: “There will be oil off the coast of Miami shortly, if it’s not already there. It’s happening”

“There will be oil off the coast of Miami shortly, if it’s not already there. It’s happening,” says Dr. Robert H. Weisberg, director of the University of South Florida Ocean Circulation Group in the school’s College of Marine Science. And Weisberg says he has the forecasts to prove it–four of them to be exact. The latest updates to those forecast has oil from the Gulf spill showing up in the Gulf Stream off the coast of Miami today.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Oil was being reported off the coast of Fort Lauderdale yesterday.

As a side note, just because water isn't black or brown does not mean it is safe. Methane, or natural gas, is colorless and odorless (the stinky smell is actually added to gas as a safety precaution by the gas company prior to piping it to your home) and dissolves in water the same as oxygen and carbon-dioxide so. Below 1500 feet, the methane and water form a white solid known as methane hydrate, but above 1500 feet, where the Deepwater Horizon wellhead is located, the methane and water remains a clear colorless solution that is not confined to the oil globules. Thus, the biohazard is not confined to the visible pollution areas.

Senior White House Official: UN Sanctions Alone "Would Not Be Sufficient" to Change Iran's Behavior -- But Much More to Come

Senior White House officials acknowledged Wednesday afternoon that the new regime of UN Security Council sanctions against Iran “would not be sufficient” in and of itself to change the behavior of the Iranian government and convince its leaders to stop its nuclear weapons program.

But, they emphasized, these sanctions are just the beginning – the “1” of a “1,2,3 punch,” as one senior White House official put it.

The next step: on June 17 the European Council will meet and impose even stricter sanctions on Iran. Then Congress will pass additional tough sanctions, which the President will sign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Notice that these alleged "officials" are not sourced: how Israeli media-like by ABC news!

And this article, by the way, simply obligingly regurgitates the essence of article which appeared in Haaretz today, with the same talking points.

Israel and the US are "grooming" the American public for a military confrontation with Iran, in spite of the UN Security Council sanctions.

The question is, what are Israel and the US going to use to "sell" the American people on the necessity for going to war against Iran?

Were I a betting person, I would not bet against some kind of "false flag" on or around the 4th of July, to be blamed on Iran as the justification for going into a shooting war against it.

Is the Obama Administration Planning to Use Bagram Like Gitmo?

The Obama administration is reportedly considering a plan to use Bagram prison in Afghanistan as a Guantánamo-style prison to hold and interrogate "terrorism suspects" captured in countries other than Afghanistan, including Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan. Citing unnamed US officials, the Los Angeles Times reports that the United States is exploring a plan to "carve out a section of the prison for non-Afghan detainees who would remain under U.S. custody" even after Bagram is officially handed over to Afghan control, which the White House agreed to do last month.

50 Ships To Join Second Freedom Flotilla

Yasser Qashlaq, the head of the Free Palestine Movement, announced Thursday that Freedom Flotilla 2 could include up to 50 ships.

Qashlaq said that a ship organized by Journalists Without Borders will depart from Lebanon to Gaza within a week. There will be journalists, members of the Free Palestine Movement, and other peace activists aboard the ship.

Israel Is Fueling Anti-Americanism Among U.S. Allies

Containing angry Arab reaction and adverse repercussions on Arab – U.S. relations was most likely on the agenda of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday. However Biden is the least qualified to allay Arab anger for being the most vocal among U.S. officials in “legitimizing” Israel’s blunder.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Our "special relationship" with Israel is costing the US internationally, big-time.

This is not even counting of the financial cost, which is about 3 billion dollar's worth of aid going to Israel annually (illegal, under the provisions of the Symington Amendment, by the way), while our infrastructure crumbles, and homeless Vets are sleeping in our streets.

Why Did The U.S. Refuse International Help on The Gulf Oil Spill?

U.S. Refused Help on Oil Spill

They were the governments of Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Republic of Korea, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations.

The U.S. response - Thank you, but no thank you, we've got it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unflipping believable.

But perhaps not doing a "Jones Act Waiver" in this case had more to do with foreign nationals actually seeing the full extent of the devastation the BP disaster had created, and that info going public here in the US, rather than the "info flow" being managed by BP and the US government.

Israel’s “self-defense” narrative falls apart

On May 31, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the actions of IDF soldiers who had conducted the raid on the Mavi Marmara, killing at least nine of its passengers, as “a clear case of self-defense because as our soldiers were inspecting these ships, they were attacked – they were almost lynched. They were attacked with clubs, with knives, perhaps with live gunfire, and they had to defend themselves – they were going to be killed.”

That was before video emerged appearing to show two Israeli soldiers first pummeling with their boots and then shooting one of the victims as he lay at their feet. To stand above an injured man and then finish him off with rounds from an assault rifle can by no ones estimation be described as an act of self-defense.

"Her mood ranges from optimistic to sad," Henochowicz's mother Shelly Kreitman told Haaretz. "We want to make clear that she has not stopped loving Israel because of what happened. She said that this should not be an excuse for people to be anti-Semitic or anti-Zionist."

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder what other press outlets, besides Haarez, has had access to Shelly Kreitman.

It is obvious that the Israeli government has given Ms. Kreitman her marching orders about what to say about her daughter's state of mind, having lost her eye to an attack by and IDF tear gas canister

And did I mention: Emily Henchowicz is (or at least was) a visual artist before this horrendous attack?!?

US Senator unveils pro-Israel resolution in flotilla feud

A top Republican US Senator on Wednesday unveiled a resolution fully supporting Israel's actions in its deadly raid on a Gaza-bound ship, while condemning the pro-Palestinian activists aboard.

Republican Senator John Cornyn's non-binding measure, if approved, would affirm the US Senate's belief "that Israel has an inherent and undeniable right to defend itself against any threat to the safety of its citizens."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Senator Cornyn: by presenting this resolution in Senate, you have made it abundantly transparent regarding the interests for whom you are working, and it is absolutely not for the interests of We the People of the United States of American, but for a foreign country,Israel.

What about Americans' right not to be hijacked in international waters, beaten, and/ or being shot to death?!? Do American aid workers, bringing desperately needed supplies to Gaza, no longer have those rights, nor US protection against armed thugs, just because those armed thugs are Israelis?

Afghan president 'has lost faith in US ability to defeat Taliban'

President Hamid Karzai has lost faith in the US strategy in Afghanistan and is increasingly looking to Pakistan to end the insurgency, according to those close to Afghanistan's former head of intelligence services.

Amrullah Saleh, who resigned last weekend, believes the president lost confidence some time ago in the ability of Nato forces to defeat the Taliban.

Webmaster's Commentary:

After nearly nine years and still no decisive victory and/or stabilization of Afghanistan, who can blame Karzai if he's actually thinking this right now?!?

Obama has allowed Afghanistan to become his very own personal Viet Nam, a reprehensible and tragic consequence of some very bad choices on his part, upon which history will judge him most harshly.

Israeli document: Gaza blockade isn't about security

As Israel ordered a slight easing of its blockade of the Gaza Strip Wednesday, McClatchy obtained an Israeli government document that describes the blockade not as a security measure but as "economic warfare" against the Islamist group Hamas, which rules the Palestinian territory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is not "economic warfare" against Hamas; it is an horrifically slow, calculated genocide against every Palestinian Gazan.

As reported on 15 November, 2008 at:

"The Israeli blockade of Gaza has led to a steady rise in chronic malnutrition among the 1.5 million people living in the strip, according to a leaked report from the Red Cross.

It chronicles the "devastating" effect of the siege that Israel imposed after Hamas seized control in June 2007 and notes that the dramatic fall in living standards has triggered a shift in diet that will damage the long-term health of those living in Gaza and has led to alarming deficiencies in iron, vitamin A and vitamin D.

The 46-page report from the International Committee of the Red Cross – seen by The Independent – is the most authoritative yet on the impact that Israel's closure of crossings to commercial goods has had on Gazan families and their diets."
As reported earlier this year at:

"The number of children under five years of age suffering from acute malnutrition in Gaza almost doubled between 2006 and 2008 from 1.4 to 2.4% (UNICEF). The World Health Organisation (WHO) also noted rising indicators for stunting, wasting, low body weight and anaemia among children and pregnant women. The ongoing blockade of Gaza has limited the availability of healthy foods and fresh fruit and vegetables on the local market and children’s health has further suffered."

Malnutrition destroys future generations; the Israelis are quite well aware of this, and thus preventing of the foods coming into Gaza that would forestall malnutrition for these kids is official Israeli Government policy.

It will be the next round of U.S. sanctions that really hurts Iran

Both Israel and the United States realize that the new sanctions won't bring Iran to its knees; the key to that is in complementary sanctions, imposed by the U.S. and like-minded nations.

Turkey is changing the rules of the regional game.

The vote against sanctions sets up Ankara as an ally of the radical axis led by Iran, and Turkey is also moving toward disputing Israel's very legitimacy, its right to self-defense and even its right to exist.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, the drumbeat for war against Iran continues, in spite of UN Security Council sanctions having been passed, coupled with the demonization of Turkey.

Unfortunately, Russia and China, having acquiesced to signing on to the sanctions, didn't take into account Israel's collective hubristic paranoia, particularly at the highest levels of its government.

These "complementary sanctions" are only a prelude to the military confrontation against Iran, which will almost inevitably follow.

Bankruptcy filings are nearing the record 2 million of 2005, when a new law took effect that was aimed at curbing abuse of the system. Filings could reach 1.7 million this year, says law professor Robert Lawless, but few experts believe that debtors are now gaming the system.

Instead, concern exists about a growing number of Americans who need bankruptcy protection but cannot get any benefit from it or simply cannot afford to file. As their financial problems worsen, that hurts everyone because it can hinder the economic turnaround.

Resurgent Taliban threaten U.S. win in Marja

Afghanistan - Residents of this onetime Taliban sanctuary see signs that the insurgents have regained momentum in recent weeks, despite early claims of success by U.S. Marines. The longer-than-expected effort to secure Marja is prompting alarm among top American commanders that they will not be able to change the course of the war in the time President Obama has given them.

Firefights between insurgents and security forces occur daily, resulting in more Marine fatalities and casualties over the past month than in the first month of the operation, which began in mid-February.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bottom line: the US is not winning, and cannot win a military victory here.

We have never had, nor ever will have, enough troops on the ground to win this, probably not even if Obama reinstitutes a draft, (which is something against which I wouldn't bet at this point.)

The US and NATO should declare victory, withdraw, and negotiate with whatever government is left standing for the rights to the oil pipelines with which to control Eurasian oil.

Of course, that would be logical; and logic and US foreign policy have not had any real long-standing relationship for some time now.

Obama pledges $400 million for Palestinians

Obama had planned the White House meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to talk mainly about Mideast peace. But after the aid flotilla assault, they ended up focusing on the blockade of Gaza.

President Obama pledged an infusion of $400 million in aid for housing, school construction and business development in the Palestinian territories Wednesday, saying after a one-on-one meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas that the situation in Gaza is "inherently unstable."

U.S. Seeks to Punish Iran with New Sanctions Resolution

The United Nations Security Council yesterday passed a fourth sanctions resolution against Iran for its insistence on enriching its own uranium under its nuclear program and for what the resolution described as insufficient cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Experts criticized the U.S. policy of continually seeking tougher sanctions on Iran by pointing out how ineffective it is.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think Obama just walked into a trap.

By going along with the sanctions, Russia and China have removed the possibility of an attack by Israel and the US for the immediate future. The US has to give the new sanctions time to work, and the fact that we know these new sanctions won't have any more effect on Iran's non-existent nuclear arsenal than previous one. As this article points out, the new sanctions are watered down from previous sanctions. They cannot really have an effect. Worse, American businesses are coming forward to report that the new sanctions will harm American businesses more than they will harm Iran. But Israel must be obeyed, the sanctions were voted through, and now the US must be seen to give the new sanctions time to work. Now that the sanctions are a done deal, there is no more story! Iran is off the table as a media distraction for the next few months!

That means Obama and Israel have lost their largest smoke screen, and now the focus shifts back to...

1. Israel's possession of nuclear weapons and the attempted sale to South Africa.

2. Israel's attack on the aid flotilla in international waters.

3. The US Government's total abandonment of American citizens and a US-flagged ship in their haste to protect Israel from criticism.

4. The collapsing economy.

5. The Gulf Oil disaster.

By going along with the new sanctions, Russia and China have created a situation where Obama cannot justify an attack on Iran until AFTER the November elections, too late to use Iran as a campaign issue to keep Democrats in control of Congress.

Fed sees economy picking up all across U.S.

Metal producers in Chicago and St. Louis cranked out more steel. Makers of drugs and medical equipment in the Northeast did better business. And sales of summer clothes were strong in fashion-conscious New York.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Notice, in this article, that no hard numbers are actually cited here.

And the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is very likely to have far-reaching negative implications for the economy as a whole which are not yet reflected in whatever numbers the Feds may claim they have right now.

Also, for those whose jobs have been offshored, cannot find new jobs with which to replace their income, and have consequently lost their homes, the recession is still on, full-tilt boogie.

Israeli document: Gaza blockade isn't about security

Israel imposed severe restrictions on Gaza in June 2007, after Hamas won elections and took control of the coastal enclave after winning elections there the previous year, and the government has long said that the aim of the blockade is to stem the flow of weapons to militants in Gaza.

Last week, after Israeli commandos killed nine volunteers on a Turkish-organized Gaza aid flotilla, Israel again said its aim was to stop the flow of terrorist arms into Gaza.

However, in response to a lawsuit by Gisha, an Israeli human rights group, the Israeli government explained the blockade as an exercise of the right of economic warfare.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To put this in context, let us imagine that the government of Canada is buddy buddy with the Democrats here in the USA, but American voters, fed up with the Democrats' empty promises of hope and change, hand the government to the GOP.

Does this give Canada a legal right to blockade the USA until we vote their buddies back into power?

European Jewish Group to Launch Flotilla to Break Gaza Blockade

A Jewish European peace group is to launch a boat to break the blockade of Gaza in the coming months, organizers said, almost a week after nine activists were killed making the same trip.

European Jews for a Just Peace (EJJP) - an umbrella organization of Jewish groups from 10 European countries against the occupation of Palestine - aim to deliver humanitarian aid such as school books and medicines to the Gaza Strip, and to draw attention to the blockade which they call "immoral."

"We want to show that not all Jews support Israel," said Edith Lutz, a German member of the EJJP. "We are calling for a just solution and for an end to the blockade."

Jews in Germany to send aid fleet to Gaza

Jews of Germany prepare a boat of humanitarian aid to Gaza, that it has predicted to leave at the end of the month of July, according to has indicated east Thursday a person in charge of the initiative in Berlin. " The list of the passengers still has not been made, but we have very many requests of all parts of mundo" , he has declared to the radio Deutschlandfunk, Edith Lutz, that is in charge of this project, organized by the German section of the network ' European Jews by a peace justa' in Near East. Between the interested people they appear " several israelíes" , aside from which they have received " numerous messages of support coming from Israel".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note that we have to go to the foreign press to learn this.

'Iran sanctions won't stop arms deal'

Russia said Thursday that the new UN sanctions do not forbid the delivery of S-300 air-defense missiles to Iran.

Israel and the US have urged Russia not to supply the missile system, which would substantially increase Iran's defense capability. Russia agreed to sell the missiles in 2007, but has not yet delivered them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The delivery of the S-300 air defense system will happen when Moscow believes that it strategically the absolutely right time to make it happen.

The leadership of both Russia and Iran have one thing in common: they are chess players, which the leadership of the US can barely mount a decent game of checkers.

Hello Chinese exports, good-bye U.S. jobs

For millions of unemployed Americans, the news about China's surging export market isn't necessarily cause for celebration, even if it might be a harbinger for global recovery.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As long as there is no real push to bring back those (used to be) high paying jobs which have been offshored, more and more people in the US will lose their jobs, their home, and their kid's chance for an education which will give them the opportunity to move forward in their lives.

This had better start bothering those in power in Washington, because the outrage at every level of government here in the US, at domestic, economic, and foreign policy blunders, is mounting, roiling, and will come to an absolute boiling point in the not too distant future.

The only question is, what shape that outrage will take.

The Crucifixion of Kindness by Gilad Atzmon

Killing Christ is realised symbolically as an assault on goodness, a crime against kindness and innocence. The cold blooded slaughter of peace activists in international waters has a very similar effect. It is an assault on compassion, righteousness and humanism. It is an attack on everything Christianity and Islam happen to value. As much as Israelis, Zionists and Neocons are insisting on spreading the deceptive myth of a Judeo-Christian alliance, it is this last Israeli crime that made it clear that the Jewish State shares nothing with humanism, Christianity or Islam. Israel in fact stands against any recognised Western value.

FLASHBACK - Journal axes gene research on Jews and Palestinians

Jews and Palestinians in the Middle East share a very similar gene pool and must be considered closely related and not genetically separate, the authors state. Rivalry between the two races is therefore based 'in cultural and religious, but not in genetic differences', they conclude.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Ashkenazi Jews are desperate to go on clinging to their belief that they are the inheritors of Biblical Israel, but in truth the Ashkenazi are pretenders, being the descendants of Khazars who converted to Judaism in 800 AD, and now try to usurp the historical place of the Palestinians and Sephardim, who are the actual genetic descendants of the Biblical Hebrews.

Defiant Iran rejects sanctions, could revise IAEA ties

Iran remained defiant on Thursday in rejecting UN sanctions over its uranium enrichment and said it could review ties with the UN atomic body, as world powers stressed the door was still open for dialogue.

The visibly angry Iranians further expressed defiance by warning Tehran could reduce its ties with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

"The majlis (parliament)... will adopt on Sunday a top priority bill which talks of decreasing ties with the IAEA," Esmaeel Kosari, a member of its committee on national security and foreign policy, told Fars news agency.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Iranian government is not "defiant"; it is justifiably angry, for having played by the IAEA rules, and still gotten slapped with sanctions, as though they had not.

They have every reason, in light of the fact that the IAEA has found no nuclear material missing, and no enrichment done beyond that necessary to fuel a power plant, to be very strongly considering pulling out of the IAEA program, as they have received utterly no real benefit from it.

It will be interesting to see what the Iranian Parliament does on this on Sunday.

US presses China to rein in N.Korea

Admiral Mike Mullen, the top US military commander, said late Wednesday that China needed to take a greater role after the purported torpedo attack, which claimed 46 lives in one of the deadliest incidents since the Korean War.

Mullen, speaking at a dinner of the Asia Society, indicated that the United States would soon go ahead with military exercises with South Korea which were set for early June but delayed to give a chance for diplomacy with North Korea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That the torpedo which struck the South Korean corvette was actually North Korean in origin has still not been proven to China's (or to other thinking people's) satisfaction, and may well have been some kind of "false flag", intended to ratchet up tensions in the region.

It appears that these upcoming US/South Korean military exercises are yet another attempt to provoke North Korea into doing something stupid, something the region - and the world - can ill afford at this time.

Israeli Document: Gaza Blockade Isn't About Security

Webmaster's Commentary:

One needs only look at the list of banned items in Gaza, including potato chips, shave cream, cookies and candies, to recognize that the blockade was never about security. The Israeli blockade of Gaza is, as I have previously stated, a repeat of the 1948 blockade of West Berlin by the USSR. In both cases the objective is to starve the blockaded people into surrendering their own elected governments, and accepting foreign rule.

General: Kandahar operation will take longer

The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said Thursday that major parts of the military operation to secure Kandahar, the birthplace of the Taliban movement, would be pushed back because it was taking longer than expected to win local support.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the Afghanis don't want the US/NATO troops there, period, end of discussion.

They do not hate us "because we are free"; they hate us because we have installed a completely corrupt puppet government in place which has absolutely no consideration for the Afghan people, and are consistently and indiscriminately killing their brothers, sisters, kids, moms, and friends.

This can only lead to further radicalization, and further destabilization of the country. If that is the outcome that the US and NATO want, one has to say, "mission accomplished!"

In the 1967 war, Israel captured hundreds of Egyptian soldiers. According to international law, Israel should have protected them before taking them to court or banishing them to prison. But Israel massacred them in the desert. We never heard of any subsequent
investigation by the international community. Whose rights of self defense were infringed on that occasion?

Massacres, like Sabra and Shatila, have been perpetrated in Lebanon. The Israeli version of this story is that, “we invaded Lebanon to kick out Palestinian fighters. Or to protect our borders. It’s all about self defense.” But disproportionate force was used by Israel:

Senate hearing disrupted as woman pours liquid on self

A Senate hearing on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill was disrupted Wednesday as a protester poured an oily-looking liquid on herself before being arrested.

"This is what it feels like to have oil dumped on you," the woman, identified as Diane Wilson, said in comments addressed to Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

Wilson issued a statement issued later saying she is a fourth generation shrimper from the Gulf and that her protest was directed against Murkowski for supporting the oil industry and opposing measures such as lifting the liability cap on oil firms in offshore spills.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The rage that Wilson expressed with this demonstration, coupled with that of all the other people who have lost their livelihoods from BP's having consistently put profits over safety, will be felt by every oil-company "acquisition" in Congress.

The only question is, what shape that rage will take.

By disarming the Muslim countries one by one, the neo-conservative US policy serves the Israeli objective of ‘securing’ its expanding borders, which at present is confined to building settlements (land theft) in the occupied territories. When this episode is forgotten, Israel will try to occupy another piece of land using the pretext of security, no doubt the world will be told, Israel was compelled to act in self-defence; thus, creeping towards its ultimate dream of creating Ertez (greater) Israel that runs from the Nile, to the Euphrates. The latest attempts to intimidate nuclear-free Iran by nuclear Israel, reflects that long term Israeli ambition.

This is the same Abdul Rahman al Rashed that only a few years ago claimed that while all Muslims were not terrorists, it was clear that all terrorists were Muslim.

Thus, in just one sound-bite he exonerated the world’s premier terrorists from any wrong doing, effectively granting a certificate of innocence to murderous Ashkenazi vandals who stole Palestine from its rightful owners and also to Nazi-like America which had just occupied and destroyed two sovereign Muslim nations based on lies and baseless allegations.

Obama to meet with families of oil rig workers killed in Gulf explosion

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel attacks a US-flagged ship, kidnaps 12 Americans, and executes one of them with four bullets in the head and Obama cannot be bothered to notice. Indeed his Vice President is on record saying, "What's the big deal?"

But the media has a huge love-fest and photo-op with the families of the men who died in the oil rig explosion which has resulted in the worst environmental disaster in history. These men are the guys who fucked up! And the families get hugs from the same President who cannot be bothered to defend Americans against an attack by Israel?????

Is it just me or does anyone else think this is totally psychotic behavior on the part of Obama?

These families have been invited to the White House! Why? Last year 197 crane operators died when their cranes collapsed. None of their families got televised memorials or trips to the White House! I understand these families are suffering greatly for the loss of their loved ones, but Obama and the media are treating them like they are war heroes or survivors of 9-11, while Israel attacks and kills Americans on the high seas with impunity! These men were not heroes. They blew up the fucking rig! And Obama wants to make heroes of them, while Israel attacks and kills Americans on the high seas with impunity!

Clearly, we need mandatory drug testing in the Oval Office!

Jack Abramoff released from prison early ... for his part in the 9/11 cover up?

There are tens of thousands of people sentenced to longer terms for doing less than Abramoff did. Of course there was the deal that included 'cooperation' with the FBI.

Why such a sweet deal when a deep investigation into his activities could possibly have seen him and others doing hard time for the rest of their lives?

As an ardent zionist with many ties to Israel and jewish organizations and with a casino operation tailor made for laundering money, could Abramoff have been a source of funds for some of the '19 hijackers/patsies' of 9/11 infamy.

Less than a week before the 9-11 attack on 5 September, the so-called lead hijacker Mohamed Atta and several other hijackers made a still-unexplained visit onboard one of Pro Israeli lobbyist, Jack Abramoff’s casino boats.

Public consultation on cuts is vapid PR: better to save £205bn by cutting climate change agenda

If Dave is looking for a massive cut in spending that would cause no pain whatsoever, except to prospective carbon traders, he should abandon the whole climate change nonsense. Since the Climate Change Bill in 2008, Britain has been signed up to a mind-boggling expenditure totalling £205bn over the next decade, or £10,000 for each family in the country. This to “fight” a non-existent threat, the great carbon phobia of man-made global warming.

Future historians will look back on this insanity and marvel at how a primitive and discredited superstition could so imprison the minds of politicians that they bankrupted their country in subservience to it. The money might as well be burned, for all the practical good it will do.

Scientist Awed by Size, Density of Undersea Oil Plume in Gulf

Vast underwater concentrations of oil sprawling for miles in the Gulf of Mexico from the damaged, crude-belching BP PLC well are unprecedented in "human history" and threaten to wreak havoc on marine life, a team of scientists said today, a finding confirmed for the first time by federal officials.

Researchers aboard the F.G. Walton Smith vessel briefed reporters on a two-week cruise in which they traced an underwater oil plum 15 miles wide, 3 miles long and about 600 feet thick. The plume's core is 1,100 to 1,300 meters below the surface, they said.

"It's an infusion of oil and gas unlike anything else that has ever been seen anywhere, certainly in human history," said Samantha Joye of the University of Georgia, the expedition leader.

Israel is a lying, rogue nuclear state enabled by the lying, rogue United States

Public uprising?
June 9, 6:46 AMLA County Nonpartisan ExaminerCarl Herman

We hold these Truths to be self-evident...
Israel was accepted as a member of the United Nations (UN) in 1948 contingent upon their acceptance of UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 194, which included:

11. Resolves that the refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property which, under principles of international law or in equity, should be made good by the Governments or authorities responsible;

Israel has never fulfilled this condition.

Ilan Pappé: The deadly closing of the Israeli mind

The decline in Israel’s reputation since the brutal attack on the Gaza flotilla is unlikely to influence the country’s leaders.

At the top of Israel’s political and military systems stand two men, Ehud Barak and Benjamin Netanyahu, who are behind the brutal attack on the Gaza flotilla that shocked the world but that seemed to be hailed as a pure act of self-defence by the Israeli public.

Although they come from the left (Defence minister Barak from the Labour Party) and the right (Prime Minister Netanyahu from Likkud) of Israeli politics, their thinking on Gaza in general and on the flotilla in particular is informed by the same history and identical worldview.

Yes, Obama Is ‘Engaged’ – in a Colossal Crime

In a rational polity, the great abomination to Earth and Man in the Gulf would spell the end of the Obama presidency. We are witnessing cataclysm on a geological scale, an event with the potential to alter planetary destiny, precipitated not by the three hundred million year arc of wayward comets or the incremental slide of continent-molding tectonic plates, but by the routine exercise of corporate power in the United States.
