The Real Danger of the US Normalizing Israeli Settlements

t is hardly shocking that the United States government has finally decreed that illegal Jewish settlements which have been built in defiance of international law, are, somehow, "consistent" with international law.

US foreign policy has been edging closer towards this conclusion for some time. Since his advent to the White House in January 2017, President Donald Trump has unleashed a total and complete reversal of his country’s foreign policy regarding Palestine and Israel.

Let us not have any illusion regarding the American approach to the so-called ‘Israeli-Palestinian conflict’ prior to Trump’s Presidency. The US has never, not even once, stood up for Palestinians or Arabs since the establishment of the State of Israel over the ruins of historic Palestine in 1948. Moreover, Washington has bankrolled the Israeli occupation of Palestine in every possible way, including the subsidizing of the illegal Jewish settlements.

Webmaster's Commentary:

International law, and US law relating to Israel, is a "pick and choose" affair, writ large, by the American government.

According to the Symington Amendment to the Constitution, any country which refuses to join the NPPT, and will not allow its nuclear sites to be inspected, should get utterly no US aid, either militarily, or financially; when it comes to Israel, however, that requirement is flagged, and all bets are off, making Israel the most intense recipient of US foreign aid, both military and financial.

And no matter HOW much aid is given, it is "never enough" to suit either Israel's politicians or military personnel.

'You can’t knock on their door': Israel strikes some Gaza targets without checking for civilians in real time

Two weeks since the air force attack in Deir el-Balah that killed nine members of the Sawarkah family, who were living in a structure that the army had defined as an Islamic Jihad “terror infrastructure,” the Israel Defense Forces are still investigating why the green light to bomb the building wasn’t based on updated information.

But an inquiry conducted by Haaretz shows that this conduct isn’t unusual. According to sources in the defense establishment, the IDF often bombs terror targets in Gaza that were included in its target bank long before the strike without checking in real time whether there are civilians at the site or whether the site has been converted into residences.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reality is that members of the IDF have absolutely no qualms about killing innocent civilians; it is just when they get caught doing it, that there is just the slightest glimmer of embarrassment, that they couldn't murder more of them than they did in any particular incident.

Iraq Troops Kill 28 Protesters After Iran’s Consulate Torched: Security forces increasingly aggressive in shooting protesters

day after protesters in Iraq’s holy city of Najaf burned the Iranian consulate to the ground, Iraqi security forces are out in force with increasingly aggressive tactics, shooting live ammunition into crowds of protesters, and killing at least 28.

The biggest incident was in Nassiriya, where protesters were trying to block a bridge. Troops opened fire into the crowd, killing at least 24, and wounding dozens of others in the process.

The other four protesters were killed in Baghdad, also near a bridge, when troops opened fire on them. One protester said that since the consulate burned, riot police are “shooting at us as if we were burning Iraq as a whole.”

Iraq’s government has repeatedly ordered the troops to get more aggressive in stopping the protests, and they seem increasingly to appreciate that the only way they will remain in power is through sheer force.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a point past which sheer force cannot prevail, if the entire country is truly agitated against the corruption and incompetence Iraqis are seeing in their government.

The question is, how long is Iraq's current military going to play along with its leadership, before it finds itself siding with Iraq's civilians?!?

With events unfolding so rapidly, this is a hard one to predict, but I would not bet against Iraq's military turning against the government relatively quickly.

I would also not bet against US intelligence operatives, stoking the fires of resentment against Iran in Iraq.

Analysts Stunned After Lagarde Demands "Key Role" For The ECB In Climate Change

Having failed miserably to "trickle down" stock market wealth for a decade as was their intention, something Ben Bernanke made clear in his Nov 4, 2010 WaPo op-ed, central banks have moved on to more noble causes.

Over the weekend Minneapolis Fed chair Neil Kashkari suggested it was time to allow central banks to directly decide how to redistribute wealth, stating unironically that "monetary policy can play the kind of redistributing role once thought to be the preserve of elected officials", apparently failing to realize that the Fed is not made up of elected officials but unelected academics and establishment pawns who serve the bidding of the Fed's commercial bank owners (in hopes of getting a job at Citadel once they quit).

However, in lieu of deciding who should be poor and who should be rich, central bankers are happy to settle with merely fixing the climate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but has Christine Lagarde gone completely, stark-raving, barking-dog mad, to make these demands, in light of the absence of hard science proving global warming, so she wants central bankers to approach climate issues as a religion instead?!?

Walmart Pork Found To Have "Superbug" Bacteria Resistant To Antibiotics

A new study published by animal-welfare group World Animal Protection has arrived at some stunning findings about pork products begin sold at Walmart.

The report , published by FoodDive, found that pork samples purchased from Walmart contained "superbug" antibiotic-resistant bacteria. 80% of samples tested from Mid-Atlantic Walmart stores were resistant to at least one antibiotic. Additionally, 37% of the bacteria in the Walmart samples were resistant to three or more classes of antibiotics.

In sum, about 27% of the resistant bacteria found on Walmart’s pork were resistant to classes categorized as Highest Priority Critically Important Antimicrobials by the World Health Organization.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you have purchased any pork from Walmart, and have already eaten it, you may want to go to your doctor to have some tests done, and if the antibiotic-resistant bug is found, that doctor needs to be very careful about how they are treating you for this.

IF your doctor is a practitioner of what is called "complementary Medicine", which includes holistic approaches involving nutrition and supplements, you may stand a better chance of recovering from this infection.

Nation's Progressives Give Thanks That They Have So Much To Be Angry About This Year

In honor of Thanksgiving week, the nation's progressives have begun to give thanks that they have so much to be angry and offended about this year.

"Thank you, unspecified deity who may or may not exist, for giving us so much stuff to be outraged about," said Staci Walder, 42, of Portland, as she prepared her vegan, kale-wrapped turkey.

"I'm truly humbled that you've blessed me with the Trump presidency, the patriarchy, the laws of economics, and biological facts to rage against."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Many years ago, a very wise person with whom I once studied, made the observation that "Happiness...is a choice", and at 70, that is what I choose.
And another big part of that happiness puzzle is, picking your battles carefully, and fighting them, wisely.

It's not the situations or people you encounter; it's learning to respond, rather than react, to whatever is bugging you. Yes, there is a lot going on which I absolutely abhor; the wars; the tone-deaf ears in the Bowels of Power in DC;, and a world which sometimes seems hell-bent on a very deliberate course of obliteration of this planet.

And yes, I do use this blog sometimes as a "bully pulpit" to express my displeasure, and try to do so as logically and peacefully as possible.

But sometimes you have to honor the good people can do by cooperating with one another, and making good things happen. For example, my new faith community has a program for feeding children in desperate circumstances both at home, and around the world; Mike and I are going to get very much behind this, because we can see that the money used for this program goes precisely where it is intended to go, and not into peoples' wallets.

If you choose only to view the world with upset and despair, it blocks the ability to notice any of the unexpected good or kindness which may be happening, because your eyes are blinded from seeing it, because of looking only through the lense of upset and despair.

We do have a choice here!! :-)

Doug Casey On The Destruction Of The Dollar

Authored by Doug Casey via InternationalMan.com,

“Inflation” occurs when the creation of currency outruns the creation of real wealth it can bid for… It isn’t caused by price increases; rather, it causes price increases.

Inflation is not caused by the butcher, the baker, or the auto maker, although they usually get blamed. On the contrary, by producing real wealth, they fight the effects of inflation. Inflation is the work of government alone, since government alone controls the creation of currency.

In a true free-market society, the only way a person or organization can legitimately obtain wealth is through production. “Making money” is no different from “creating wealth,” and money is nothing but a certificate of production. In our world, however, the government can create currency at trivial cost, and spend it at full value in the marketplace. If taxation is the expropriation of wealth by force, then inflation is its expropriation by fraud.

Iran, China, & Russia Gear Up For Unprecedented War Games In "Message To The World"

Just as Americans were gearing up for Thanksgiving, on Wednesday Iranian officials announced they will send a "message to the world" by holding unprecedented war games with partner forces Russia in China in the Indian Ocean.

Semi-official Mehr news agency cited Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi on Wedneday to reveal the "mass war drills" will held at some point next month or the "near future" in a historic first, and as the three unlikely allies find themselves facing ramped up Washington sanctions and pressure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) President Trump, a word, please.

Have you noticed that your foreign policies appear to driving other countries very far away from the American sphere of influence, and into the spheres of influence of both Russia and China?!?

I have a very hard time, believing that such was the design intent of your foreign policies.

And sir, if this doesn't disturb you, I must confess, that the hairs on the back of my neck are attempting to breakdance, a very unusual situation for my hair, in learning of these exercises.

Here Are More US Tech Giants Propping Up China's Vast Surveillance State

A bombshell follow-up report to a major document leak which confirmed and detailed China's vast Uyghur Muslim Xinjiang prison network and system for monitoring communications and whereabouts has named names. Names that is, of US tech giants that are actually aiding and abetting China’s multibillion-dollar surveillance industry being used to impose a total electronic police state on the communist country. And it's not just Google and IBM, but a growing list of recognizable names.

"U.S. companies, including Seagate Technology PLC, Western Digital Corp. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co., have nurtured, courted and profited from China’s surveillance industry," the scathing report begins. "Several have been involved since the industry’s infancy."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is disturbing, but in American business practices, and in its "morality" money trumps every other moral issue and consequence.

A Failure Of Leadership In The Muslim World

Authored by James Durso via RealClearWorld.com,

Bad news about China’s persecution of the Uighurs has been coming thick and fast.

Azeem Ibrahim of the U.S. Army War College Strategic Studies Institute has pointed out that the acquiescence of Muslim-majority countries illustrates “’Muslim solidarity’ is a convenient and effective slogan to be thrown at domestic audiences” but, when push comes to a shove from China, you can “forget about the umma.”

This is a serious issue, not a provocation like Everybody Draw Mohammed Day. Why are leaders in the Islamic world refusing to take a stand?

Two reasons stand out immediately.

First, faith leaders in the Islamic world probably reckon it is futile to chastise the Communist Party of China for actions taken against a non-Han people practicing what the Party sees as an “illegal superstition”. China’s leader, President Xi Jinping, isn’t some Danish cartoonist -- there would be consequences for speaking out.

Brexit: The Death Knell For Further EU Integration Or An Opportunity?

Authored by Steven Guinness,

With the UK still engaged in the process of leaving the European Union, you might consider it a strange paradox that Brexit could eventually lead to Britain integrating deeper into the EU project. On the face of it the country looks as far away now as it ever has from taking the next step on assimilating fully into the union – that being the abandonment of sterling and adoption of the Euro.

In 2015 when David Cameron’s Conservatives secured a majority in the general election, it was on a promise that the Tories would deliver the referendum to the British people. Just thirteen months later the vote was held and the UK opted to leave. Ever since then the conversation has been geared towards the ‘future relationship‘ between Britain and the EU. Not factored into this conversation is how the Euro could potentially play a part.

Stockholm: 51% Of Women Feel Unsafe Going Out At Night

Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Summit News,

A new survey shows that 51 per cent of women in Stockholm, Sweden feel unsafe going out at night, while the number who feel insecure in the daytime has doubled.

According to the County Administrative Board’s new citizen survey, more than half of women feel insecure in the evenings while the overall figure who feel unsafe rose from 33 per cent to 44 per cent.

Since 2011, the proportion of citizens who feel unsafe in their own residential area during the daytime almost doubled from 11 per cent to 20 per cent.

“The growing insecurity in Stockholm is also underscored by the fact that more and more county residents are refraining from activities due to concern about being exposed to crime, such as walking, cinema or visiting acquaintances,” the report stated.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These number should galvanize the Swedish government into some kind of actions which will make Swedish women feeling safe again; otherwise, in the next general elections in Sweden, or there may well be a route of all governmental officials by a very pro-rightist, anti-immigrant group of politicians.

China Folds: For All Its Bluster, Beijing Does Nothing After Trump Signs HK Bill

Just a few hours after Trump called China's bluff on the Hong Kong bill, it appears the US president won the pot.

After launching a stern verbal protest overnight in which China's Foreign Ministry said that it would take strong countermeasures if the US continues to undermine Hong Kong's autonomy after Trump signed the Bill that supports HK protesters, adding that US attempts to interfere in HK are doomed to fail, Beijing has done nothing really, and instead left the door open for a trade deal with the U.S., confirming again that China needs the trade deal with the US just as much as Trump, if not more.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that the caveat, here, would be; China hasn't done anything YET; please remember, President Trump signed this into law last Wednesday; it is barely Friday morning, from where I sit, and Chinese leadership may have some concepts about timing what they are actually going to do, to get a better deal with US trade.

California Plans to Hike Tax on Legal Marijuana, Threatening New Market With Rapid Extinction

Free Enterprise will always beat over-regulated,over taxed Capitalism. $3 out of every $4 spent on Cannabis in Cali go to the black market growers.

The Golden State’s marijuana tax schemes are already threatening the new market with rapid extinction, despite the promises that the revenues from the legalized pot would create a veritable Utopia.

California has long expected to be the world’s crown jewel of cannabis sales. Although estimates vary, most of Wall Street expects California to generate $10 billion to $11 billion in annual sales by 2030. Yet, in the state’s first full year of recreational marijuana sales, California’s total pot revenue declined. In 2017, when California only sold medical marijuana, sales hit roughly $3 billion. Then, in 2018, with both recreational and medical cannabis available, statewide sales plunged $500 million to $2.5 billion. A big reason for this drop is that California has been taxing the daylights out of its consumers.

State ignored worker death to lure Amazon business, report says

I worked at the Troutdale fulfillment center. Took 6 minutes to get to the break room. 12 minutes total for a 15 minute break. Dangerous place to work.

Spent 3 months as an Amazon delivery driver. After about 4,000 times getting out of the van on the left leg my Meniscus tore in several places. Been fighting a WC Claim ever since. The doctor wants to do surgery,Amazon's insurance company is now having me see their doctor. They want to eliminate or minimize the payout. They have been nice so far,but now it is crunch time.
The Amazon Prime delivery driver job is dangerous too.

How Boeing 777 jet completely ruptured under stress test, blowing out a passenger door and damaging a wing

The fuselage of one of Boeing's new 777X aircraft completely ruptured in pressure tests in September, a previously unreported major setback that could delay the arrival of the long-haul jet another six months, according to informed sources.

Already deeply mired in the crisis surrounding its 737 MAX, the premier US aircraft manufacturer now may have to put back the release of its new line of long-haul jets until mid-2021 due to the unexpected weakness in the 777X airframe.

Newly-released images show the fuselage skin ripped wide open and caused the passenger door to fall out, damaging behind the wing, during the tests that deliberately take stress to extremes beyond normal operating conditions to ensure the strength of the construction materials.

Iraqi forces shoot dead 27 people and set up 'crisis cells' to quash unrest after anti-government protesters set fire to Iranian consulate

Security forces in Iraq shot dead 27 anti-government protesters in a 24-hour period, amid spiraling violence in the capital and the country's south, as Iran condemned the burning of its consulate.

Security forces Thursday fired live ammunition, killing four protesters and wounding 22 on the strategic Ahrar Bridge in Baghdad, security and medical officials said.

Violence across southern Iraq continued throughout the night, with security forces killing 23 protesters and wounding 165 since Wednesday evening. Protesters closed roads and police and military forces were deployed across key oil-rich provinces.

Authorities responded to the unrest by setting up joint military-civilian 'crisis cells' and imposing a curfew in the southern holy city of Najaf where protesters stormed and set fire to the Iranian consulate. The Iranian staff were not harmed, and escaped out the back door.

Scathing Reports Document Worker Abuses At Amazon Warehouses Just In Time For Holiday Rush

Amazon has repeatedly insisted that reports about the allegedly terrible working conditions in its "fulfillment center" warehouses are overblown, and that it's workers are treated no differently than any other warehouse worker. To try and save face, Amazon announced last year that it would hike pay to at least $15 for thousands of workers in its warehouses and elsewhere.

But the abuses have apparently continued, and a series of reports released just days before the beginning of the holiday shopping season highlighted Amazon's abuses of both its workers and the public welfare system.

The report that drew the most attention was a joint project between the Reveal Center for Investigative Reporting and The Atlantic which found that Amazon warehouse workers are seriously injured on the job at twice the rate of other warehouse workers - likely a factor of Amazon's demanding conditions.

In "Message To Tehran" Iraqi Protesters Torch Another Iranian Consulate

Consular staff had reportedly evacuated as mobs of angry demonstrators gathered prior to the incident, which involved Iraqis storming the compound and breaching the gates. A mass blaze then erupted from within during the evening hours as social media videos quickly put online show.

Iran, Russia, China to Hold Joint Wargames in ‘Message to the World’

Iran, China, and Russia will hold in the coming weeks their first-ever joint war drills, which leaders say are meant to send a "message to the world" about increased military cooperation between the rogue countries.

The commander of Iran's navy, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, said Wednesday that the Islamic Republic will team up with Moscow and Beijing within the next month to hold the mass war drills.

"When we talk about joint wargames, we are talking about two or more countries with a high level of relations in various political, economic and social fields, which culminate in cooperation in the military sector, with wargames usually being the highest level of such cooperation," Khanzadi was quoted as saying in remarks to Iran's state-controlled press.

Are We on the Path to War? – Middle East Heats Up While Viewers Watch the Impeachment

Discussions are underway with new NATO ally Bulgaria to create a Black Sea Coordination Center in Varna. The United States is considering a ten-year roadmap for defense cooperation with Bulgaria and is eager to provide Sofia broader access to its high-end military technologies. The advanced technologies would include surveillance capabilities specifically targeting Russia.
There is also a fundamental second level of stupidity in basing such an effort in Bulgaria as the Turks, also frequently at odds with Washington, control the door to the Black Sea through the Bosporus and Dardanelles. If relations really do go sour and if demands to kick Turkey out of NATO ever do bear fruit, Ankara can make it very difficult for NATO warships transiting into the Black Sea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In fact, one has to wonder if these impeachment hearings have contained some industrial-strength, Deep State misdirection, while elements within it are working with their Israeli counterparts to insure that US citizens "have a reason" for signing on to a war against an alleged "enemy" which has neither declared war on this country, nor attacked it.

Denver snow forecast for Tuesday: Everything is closed (and it’s still snowing)

up, it’s snowing again. And it’s piling up out there.

“That’s when things really picked up at DIA,” Cooper said. More than 460 flights have been canceled.

Pardoned Turkey Found Dead After Claiming To Have Dirt On Hillary Clinton

A turkey recently pardoned by President Trump was found dead after claiming to have dirt on the Clintons, sources at the FBI confirmed today.

The official cause of death was suicide, though the bullet wounds were in the back of the turkey's head and the bird lacked opposable thumbs with which to operate a firearm.

The turkey had been publicly pardoned for the crime of being delicious and set free by Trump in a popular White House Thanksgiving tradition. Shortly after being released, the turkey confirmed its possession of "credible" information that would lead to the indictment of Hillary Clinton, posting on the bird's social media account that it was a good thing Trump had pardoned the turkey, so the world could find the truth out about the Clintons.
