Hamas missiles target Israel's Ramon Airport in retaliation for aggression against Palestinians

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance movement, Hamas, has targeted Israel's Ramon Airport near the Red Sea resort city of Eilat in the southern part of the Israeli occupied territories, suspending operations there.

Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, told Arabic-language al-Aqsa TV on Thursday afternoon that an indigenous Ayyash 250 missile was launched towards the airport, stressing that his group’s missiles can reach any target in the Occupied Territories, the Palestinian Arabic-language Safa news agency reported.

“In the name of God and by order of Chief of Staff of al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Khaled Muhammad al-Deif, an Ayyash missile was fired towards Ramon Airport – located about 220 kilometers (136 miles) south of the Gaza Strip – in southern [occupied] Palestine. The missile weighs 250 kilograms (550 pounds), and has a range of more than 250 kilometers as well as a high destructive force,” he said.

Updated casualty figures from Gaza, Israel; US blocks UN statement, Israel targets journalists

Early Friday, the Israeli military said air and ground troops struck Gaza in what appeared to be the heaviest attacks yet. Masses of red flames illuminated the skies as the deafening blasts from the outskirts of Gaza City jolted people awake. The strikes were so strong that people inside the city, several kilometers away, could be heard screaming in fear.

“I said we would extract a very heavy price from Hamas,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a videotaped statement. “We are doing that, and we will continue to do that with heavy force.” (Deaths now said to be 109 Gazans, many children.)

Israel is teetering on the edge of civil war, and what do celebs do? They leap in Tweet first.

Israelis and Palestinians are killing each other. Again. This time it could turn into a full-blown civil war. But never fear, the celebrities have arrived and they're going to settle this millennia-old dispute, in 280 characters.

We mustn't talk about Israel. No, no, no. It's the ultimate political quagmire. Just leave it alone. It's way too complicated and, well, the actual details are ancient and a little bit boring for a generation who define their entire existence in 280 Twitter characters and other social media posts.

A deadly and significant conflagration looks imminent between Israelis and Palestinians, though, and today real people are really dying – including children. But that hasn't stopped a whole load of celebs leaping in Tweet first, as it were.

Biden Administration Reportedly Blocking UN Cease-Fire Statement as Israel Bombards Gaza

The Biden administration is reportedly blocking the release of a United Nations Security Council statement calling for an immediate cease-fire as Israel continues its devastating assault on the occupied Gaza Strip, killing dozens of Palestinians and injuring hundreds more.

According to Reuters, which cited anonymous diplomats and sources familiar with the Biden administration's strategy, the United States is "delaying" the U.N. Security Council's "efforts to issue a public statement on escalating tensions between Israel and the Palestinians because it could be harmful to behind-the-scenes efforts to end the violence."

One source told the outlet that the U.S. is "actively engaged in diplomacy behind the scenes with all parties to achieve a cease-fire," but the official did not specify how a U.N. Security Council joint statement—which must be agreed to by consensus—would undermine those talks.

Far-right Israeli groups plan further violence against Palestinians after night of lynchings

Far-right Israeli groups are planning to mount further attacks against Palestinians in Israel on Thursday night, according to group chat messages seen by MEE, after a night of mob attacks, crackdowns by Israeli security forces and deaths across Israel, the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza on Wednesday.

"Bring everything, knives, gasoline," read one message in a group chat named "The Underground Unit" - seemingly on Signal - with several hundred members. "Don't be scared, we are the chosen ones."

"Good job at Bat Yam yesterday," another message read, referring to a spate of violence in the Tel Aviv suburb which saw a Palestinian man violently attacked live on Israeli television. "Today we'll go back to make some mess at 6pm. Let's meet at the seafront."

Far-right groups such as Lehava and La Familia have also been planning attacks in Jerusalem, according to Haaretz.

Netanyahu allying himself with far-right settler extremists has sparked violence in Jerusalem and risks all-out chaos

The Israeli prime minister’s decision to side with extremist settlers for political gain, along with attacks on Palestinian worshippers, have led to possible war with Gaza and “civil war” inside Israel itself.

The events that transpired at Al-Aqsa mosque (Temple Mount) compound last Friday, when hundreds of armed Israeli police attacked Palestinian worshippers, injuring 200, triggered an explosion of violence that had been close to boiling point since the beginning of Ramadan.

Iraqi resistance ‘ready for military cooperation with Palestinians, can reach depths of occupied territories’

A prominent Iraqi resistance group pledges readiness for military and security cooperation with its fellow Palestinian movements in the face of the Israeli regime’s aggression and warns Tel Aviv that it can reach the depths of the occupied territories.

The secretary-general of the al-Nujaba resistance movement, Sheikh Akram al-Ka'abi, made the remarks during an unprecedented meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, and Ziyad al-Nakhalah, the secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Iraqi group’s Media Office in Palestine reported on Wednesday.

“The Iraqi people have always stood by the oppressed people of Palestine and have supported their efforts toward liberation from the savage and occupying Zionist regime. I personally wish to fight the enemies in the holy land of Palestine,” Ka’abi said.

Iran military chief: Balance of power shifted away from ‘infanticidal Zionists’ toward Palestinians

Iran’s top military commander says as a result of the anti-Israel resistance’s rising strength, the balance of power in the region has changed in favor of Palestinians in their confrontation with the Zionist regime.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri made the remarks in a Thursday message in which he strongly condemned the latest criminal acts of the Zionist regime against Palestinian people across the occupied territories.

Stressing the need for the establishment of a strategic and powerful coalition to resolve the issue of Palestine, Baqeri said, “The savage crimes committed these days by the brutal and infanticidal Zionist regime in the occupied territories and the Holy [Jerusalem] al-Quds, and killing of a large number of fasting, oppressed, innocent and resistant people of Palestine, have greatly saddened the entire world, especially the Islamic Ummah.”

Qassam Brigades: ‘No red lines’ exist for protecting al-Aqsa mosque, Palestinian territories

The spokesman for al-Qassam Brigades, which is the military arm of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, says the group knows no red lines or rules of engagement in its fight for the liberation of al-Aqsa Mosque and in defense of the Palestinian people.

Abu Ubaida made the comments on Thursday while talking about the recent escalation of tensions between Palestinians and Israel across the occupied territories.

“There are no red lines or rules of engagement in our fight for the sake of al-Aqsa and the protection of our people,” he said, adding, “Every price we pay and will pay is a ransom for al-Quds, so there is no sense for our existence without winning al-Quds and al-Aqsa.”

His comments came as Israel continued its airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip on Tuesday and Wednesday, drawing a barrage of rockets from resistance groups in Gaza.

Israeli media in hot water after state TV broadcasts ‘lynching’ of ‘Arab’ by Jewish mob

News that Israeli television broadcast the beating of a supposedly Arab man live amid the ongoing violence has drawn condemnation on social media, with users questioning Israel’s reputation as the Middle East’s only democracy.

Footage from Wednesday evening showed a man being dragged from his car, beaten and set upon by dogs in Bat Yam, Tel-Aviv, and was aired live by state broadcaster Kan.

While the violence was broadly condemned on social media, many commentators focused on the fact that Kan, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, aired the horrifically violent footage live on national television.

One Twitter user labeled the Israeli media “incorrigible perverts” for “showing [the] mob lynching of an Arab live on national TV.” He added that it reminded him of scenes he had seen on Indian TV.

Russia calls on Israel to ‘immediately’ end settlement of Palestinian territories & maintain peace at Jerusalem’s sacred sites

Moscow has urged the Israeli government to urgently put an end to violent clashes with Palestinians, as security forces crack down on unrest in East Jerusalem and are reportedly considering a full-scale ground operation in Gaza.

On Wednesday, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held a call with Mousa Abu Marzuk, a senior representative of Hamas, the de facto government in Gaza. During the talks, Marzuk warned of a worsening humanitarian situation in Eastern Jerusalem, as well as reported shelling of residential areas in Gaza.

Israeli ground forces roll into Gaza after Hamas warning of ‘heavy response’

Israeli regime ground forces roll into the Gaza Strip after the Hamas resistance movement strongly warned Tel Aviv against resorting to the offensive.

The Israeli military’s “air and ground troops are currently attacking in the Gaza Strip,” the Israel ministry of military affairs tweeted late Thursday.

Hamas had earlier warned the regime of a “heavy response” in case it launched such incursion following many days of airstrikes against the enclave.

The regime’s war minister Benny Gantz though sent a whopping 9,000 reservists to the occupied territories’ border with Gaza in an “exceptional call-up,” the Associated Press reported.

It had earlier been reported that 5,000 such reservists had been dispatched to the border area. It was not clear if there was any overlap between the two numbers.

Amid Hamas’ warning, however, the Israeli military later denied having moved into Gaza.

New surprise awaiting Israel? Hamas says has yet to unveil main military assets

A senior Hamas leader says the Gaza-based resistance movement has not yet used its “main assets” in its campaign against the Israeli regime’s acts of aggression targeting Palestinians in the occupied territories and Gaza, and that it is still using its old defense equipment only to “get rid of” them.

Hamas deputy leader, Saleh al-Arouri said that the rockets that have been fired by the group’s military wing — Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades — towards the Israeli-occupied territories are the old ones.

“We want to get rid of them (the old rockets). Qassam’s main assets have not been unveiled yet,” the Palestinian official said, in an indication that more surprises may yet be awaiting the Israeli enemy in the latest flare-up between the two sides.

Israel posts fake videos to justify Gaza slaughter

The Israeli government posted a two-and-a-half-year-old video from Syria, claiming it was from Gaza, in order to justify its ongoing bombing campaign that has killed dozens of Palestinians since Monday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Arabic spokesperson Ofir Gendelman tweeted a 28-second video on Tuesday.

The video shows the rapid firing of rockets from next to what looks like an apartment building.

“Another video showing how Hamas is firing rockets at Israel from populated areas in the Gaza Strip,” Gendelman wrote.

He then accused Hamas, the Palestinian resistance faction that governs Gaza’s internal affairs, of “targeting civilians while using them as human shields.”

The words “Gaza now” are watermarked on the video in English and Arabic.

IDF announces Israeli GROUND TROOPS now ‘attacking’ Gaza Strip amid fears of imminent invasion

Israeli ground troops have now joined the air force in attacking the Gaza Strip, the IDF has announced, causing confusion before clarifying that no soldiers have actually crossed into the Palestinian enclave yet.

“IDF air and ground forces are now attacking the Gaza Strip. More details to come,” the Israel Defense Forces announced on Twitter just after midnight on Friday local time.

Artillery, tanks and infantry are firing into the strip but have not crossed its boundary yet, according to a reporter with the Israeli public broadcaster Kan 11. RT’s Paula Slier also reported that artillery units from Israel’s Golani Brigade are “shooting into Gaza from the border, but have not crossed over.”

Mass Anti-Israel Rallies Sweep Across Germany, Police Beefing Up Security - Reports

German cities saw mass anti-Israel demonstrations for two consecutive evenings, with police stepping up security and using force against the most radical activists, national media reported.

According to Die Welt, about 1,500 people have taken to the streets of Bremen. Protesters with Palestinian and Turkish flags demanded that Israel immediately stop strikes on the Gaza Strip.

In Hanover, police dispersed a protest of about 550 people over violations of sanitary requirements. There were also attempts to burn Israeli flags, for which two people were detained. In the city of Gelsenkirchen, about 200 protesters gathered outside a synagogue chanting chauvinist slogans, according to the Bild tabloid. The police were able to block the protesters' way to the synagogue using batons.

Watch: German TV “regrets” airing this interview about Gaza

Deutsche Welle has apologized for airing an interview with me on Tuesday about German complicity in Israel’s ongoing massacre of Palestinians in Gaza.
The state broadcaster’s action reflects the prevailing cowardice and repression among Germany’s elites when it comes to criticism of Israel.

“I think it is time for the people of Germany and German elites to stop making Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip pay for the crimes of the German people against European Jews,” I said in the interview.

“Palestinians are sick of paying the price for guilty German consciences.”

Bella Hadid Sparks Anger as She Accuses Israel of 'Colonisation, Ethnic Cleansing' of Palestinians

This is not the first time the American supermodel, whose father is Palestinian, has voiced her opinion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 2017, she participated in protests against Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Supermodel Bella Hadid has sparked anger after posting several statements on social media, in which she accused Israel of "colonisation", "ethnic cleansing", and "apartheid". ‘It’s like The Purge in real life’: Terrified Israelis say police are overwhelmed trying to deal with Arab mobs seeking vengeance for Gaza airstrikes with Jewish homeowners taking sniper positions on roofs to protect their homes

Israelis have described being attacked by Arab mobs 'like something out of The Purge' films amid escalating violence between the two sides that has pushed the region to the brink of all-out war.

People in the city of Lod, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, say they have been forced to take up positions on the streets and rooftops armed with guns and bats to protect themselves during two nights of rioting by Israeli Arabs.

Synagogues, shops and cars have been torched and while Israeli authorities have now imposed an overnight curfew, those on the ground say there has been little police protection.

Rockets Fired At Israel From South Lebanon As Fears Grow Hezbollah To Enter Conflict

A big lingering unknown is whether Israel's powerful archenemy Hezbollah will open up a northern front to bog down Israel's military as it continues striking Gaza, and as preparations are underway for a potential Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) ground invasion into the Hamas-controlled strip.

Late Thursday at least three rockets were fired from southern Lebanon toward Israel, which the IDF military spokesman confirmed...

Given the rockets fired into northern Israel, the immediate question remains whether Hezbollah was responsible, and if the Shia paramilitary organization supported closely by Iran will initiate its own aggression. This would constitute a monumental escalation for Israel, assuring major regional war.

So far international reports are saying it's "unclear" who was responsible for the attack from Lebanon.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Or... could it have been Israeli military elements in Lebanon, attempting a "false flag" in order to justify an invasion of Lebanon?!?

If this is happening, expect it to get far worse, to justify the invasion; Israel desperately wants the Litani river, and will do nearly anything to be able to access that water....

Palestinian community in Lydda calls for international protection from Israeli state-sanctioned pogroms

We, members of the Palestinian hip-hop band DAM, living in Lydda (Lydd), survived with our brothers & sisters in Lydda, Ramla, Haifa, Jaffa, Akka and elsewhere, a racist attack by far-right Israeli extremists last night. We join the majority of our people in calling for immediate international intervention to defend us before it is too late.

Lydda is a Palestinian city in present-day Israel that was ethnically cleansed of most of its Indigenous inhabitants during the Nakba. Ironically, most of our community in Lydda are refugees who escaped to the city from Jaffa and other ethnically cleansed Palestinian communities during the Nakba.

White House avoids question on Palestinians' right to self-defense

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki avoided a reporter's question whether US President Joe Biden believes Palestinians have a right to self-defense amid Israeli airstrikes, Anadolu Agency reported.

"We've heard repeatedly with respect to the statements about violence in Israel that Israel has a legitimate right to self-defense but we're not hearing about the Palestinians right to self-defense. Why is that and does the president believe that Palestinians have a right to self-defense," asked a reporter.

In response, Psaki did not say "yes" or "no" to the question but said the US is working to de-escalate and try to reduce in the region.

"Let me first say, I think it's important to note, as I think you'd agree, that these [rocket] attacks are coming from Hamas and many Palestinian people are being put in danger because of the violence that is happening back and forth.

Israel's Military Begins Ground Offensive In Gaza

update(7:37pm): Israel's military is attempting to walk back some initial statements, claiming they were mistranslated to the AFP - confirming that "ground troops" are now involved in operations at the border but that the "invasion" has yet to begin inside the Gaza Strip...

Webmaster's Commentary:

Bull biscuits; I would suggest that the invasion has well and truly begun, and that I would not be surprised at a Palestinian death toll in the thousands, when all is said and done.

Oh, and remember the tshirt members of the IDF sniper units were proudly wearing a number of years ago, until their PR department yanked it, because the "optics" were "not good" for the IDF?!?

That tshirt showed a pregnant Palestinian woman, and the phrase in Hebrew appearing on it translated into English as "One shot... two kills!"

Please don't be terribly surprised if we see a lot of that going on during the ground invasion as well.

Palestine Has the Right to Defend Itself

We have entered a new era in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The old days of Israel committing war crimes against the downtrodden, captive Palestinians are over. The world has done zero to address Israel’s fundamental crime of nation-stealing: a megalith crime that can only be described as the longest and most vicious war crime in our modern history. A crime that millions of people around the world consider to be even worse than the holocaust. After some 73 years of enduring relentless Israeli terrorism, land-theft, cultural appropriation AND the silence of the world, the Palestinian Resistance has finally taken charge and has, literally overnight, turned the tables against Israel. From here on, there will be accountability for Israel for any crime it commits against the Palestinians. From here on, all previous Israeli red lines will be crossed in favor of the Palestinians. From here on, the death of Israel is no longer a far-fetched fantasy.

Breaking! Explosion in Tel Aviv Israel! Israeli Jets Takes Off! Why Biden Fails in Israel?

May 13 06:04

Israeli jets and Palestinian militants have traded fresh airstrikes and rocket fire as the UN’s Middle East envoy warned of an escalation towards a full-scale war.

One person was killed and two injured after an anti-tank guided missile struck a vehicle patrolling near the border between Israel and Gaza on Wednesday morning. Mortar shells fired across the border hampered efforts by medical teams to reach the scene.

Hamas said it had carried out the attacks. Meanwhile, the Gaza health ministry said the death toll in Gaza had reached 48, including 14 children, with more than 300 wounded. Six people in Israel have been killed.

In the worst descent into violence since a 2014 war between Israel and Hamas, the Israeli military has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Gaza and Palestinian militant groups have fired multiple rocket barrages at Israeli cities.

Israel's diminished deterrence and political turmoil are recipe for disaster

Hamas has been "surprising" Israel again and again since Monday evening, which should worry everyone. The massive salvos of rocket at Tel Aviv on Tuesday night and early Wednesday are a direct continuation of the terror group's rocket strikes on the Jerusalem area on Monday.

These attacks show that Israel's deterrence against Gaza has become virtually nonexistent, an issue that demands immediate attention and that could give Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah ideas.

These ideas would be far more deadly than anything Israel has witnessed so far from Hamas.

Iran’s IRGC vows ‘more powerful’ support for Palestine

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) vehemently condemns the Israeli regime’s hugely deadly atrocities of the recent weeks across the Palestinian territories, pledging to stand “more powerfully” in support of the Palestinian nation.

In a Wednesday statement, the elite force considered “providing assistance to the Islamic resistance and Palestine’s Intifada (Uprising)” to be its “historical and undeniable mission.”

IDF will fight until there’s ‘complete silence’ before any truce is possible, says Israeli defense minister

Israel’s defense minister has vowed to continue operations against Palestinian militants, claiming the country’s forces will achieve “complete silence” before moving to the negotiating table as violence escalates.

In a speech on Wednesday in the coastal city of Ashkelon, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz promised to continue taking the fight to Hamas and other Palestinian forces before any truce is reached.

“In Gaza, towers are falling, factories are collapsing, tunnels are being wiped out and commanders are being assassinated. The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) will continue to strike and bring complete silence for the long term,” he told media in the southern city, which has been hard-hit by rockets fired from Gaza.

Gantz said that the current operation has no end date and that the IDF would carry out its duty. “We will not accept rebuke from any organization or institution about our right and duty to protect the citizens of Israel.”

Israeli Army Preparing for Ground Operation in Gaza Strip

The clashes between Hamas and the Israeli military have been intensifying over the past few days, with over 1,600 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israel.

The Israeli Army is engaged in preparations for a land operation in the Gaza Strip, but no order to start carrying out this offensive has been made so far, Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesman, Jonathan Conricus, said on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, The Times of Israel reported that the general staff will be presenting and discussing plans for a possible ground invasion in the enclave. These plans, assembled by the Gaza Division and Southern Command, may then be given to Israel's political leadership, the report suggested.

In the meantime, IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus said that at least 1,600 rockets have been fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the recent clashes, with Israel's Iron Dome missile defence system demonstrating an effectiveness of around 90 percent.

Gaza death toll jumps to 83 as Israeli air raids intensify: Live

By Virginia Pietromarchi
13 May 2021
Israeli fighter jets have attacked high-rise buildings and other targets in the Gaza Strip as Palestinians in the besieged enclave woke up on Thursday to mark the Eid al-Fitr religious holiday under relentless aerial bombardment.

Since the Israeli offensive began late on Monday, Gaza’s health ministry says at least 83 people, including 17 children, have been killed. More than 480 others have been wounded.

At least six Israelis have also been killed. The Israeli army said hundreds of rockets have been fired from Gaza towards various locations in Israel and they have added reinforcements near the enclave’s eastern lands.

There have also been more violent confrontations between Jewish Israelis and Palestinian citizens of Israel in several cities inside Israel.

Op-ed:"Netanyahu allying himself with far-right settler extremists has sparked violence in Jerusalem and risks all-out chaos

Why has Netanyahu allowed for a Palestinian uprising?

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is one critical question it appears that Netanyahu; the Mossad the Knesset; and the IDF seem to not want to address; what happens if the planned "air/ground assault" against Gaza cannot put the "genie of suppressed Palestinian rage" back into the proverbial bottle?!?

What then?!?

The unintended consequences of not having thought this all the way through, may well come back to create an horrific outcome for the state of Israel, through these planned and announced actions against Gaza.

Israel-Palestine: US sends diplomat to push for 'de-escalation'

Secretary of State Antony Blinken says he is sending undersecretary Hady Amr to the region, while reiterating support for Israel.

The US has announced that senior diplomat Hady Amr will be sent to the Middle East with the aim of de-escalating the violence in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken also reiterated on Wednesday Washington's support for what he called "Israel's legitimate right to defend itself".

"We're deeply concerned about what we're seeing there. Images that came out overnight are harrowing, and the loss of any civilian life is a tragedy," Blinken said.

"I've asked Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hady Amr to go to the region immediately to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. He will bring to bear his decades of experience, and in particular, he will urge on my behalf and on behalf of President Biden de-escalation of violence."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Antony Blinken, can you possibly please stop lying about what is going on, for one brief, shining moment, sir!?

Do you appreciate, for one millisecond, the deep, non-biodegradable pond scum in which Netanyahu finds himself, at this moment in Israel's history?!? Enmeshed with corruption scandals that will not go away?!?

Are you so geopolitically tone deaf and blind, that you not consider the possibility that the eviction of Palestinian families from homes in which they have lived in generations, coupled with the Israeli outrages at the Al Aqsa Mosque, were timed specifically to provoke a Palestinian reaction that would create this situation, which would make the removal of Netanyahu from office, a practical impossibility?!?

The indesputable fact here is, Netanyahu is desperate to hang on to power, no matter how many Palestinians and Israelis get hurt or killed; that, sir, is the reality here.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel's difficulty right now, is that it is singularly incapable of controlling the narrative, because of the presence of cell cameras, the net, and tweets to document what is happening.

My deep concern right now, is that Israel will pull a "false flag", to be blamed on Iran, and off we go.... to a new world war.

16 hours ago - WorldNegotiations to oust Netanyahu stall amid Jerusalem crisis

Efforts to form a new Israeli government and oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have come to an almost complete halt amid the escalation with Hamas.

Why it matters: Opposition leader Yair Lapid is six days into a 28-day mandate, and seemed on track to strike a coalition deal with Naftali Bennett, a right-wing kingmaker. But the latest crisis could make those efforts nearly impossible.

What led to the most recent Israel-Palestine escalation?

Protests over the expulsion of Palestinian families and Israeli raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque compound preceded Israel’s heavy bombardment of Gaza.

Days of heavy bombardment on the Gaza Strip intensified on Wednesday, with Israeli fighter jets bombing sites belonging to Palestinian armed groups, as well as police buildings and apartment blocks.

Since the offensive began late on Monday, Gaza’s health ministry says at least 53 people have been killed, including 14 children. More than 300 others have been wounded.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Newton made the observation: "To every action, there is an equal, and opposite, reaction."

The eviction of Palestinian families, coupled with the massive repressions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, were engineered to create precisely the situation in which the state of Israel finds itself, and now, it is playing "the victim"?!?

Please; thoughtful, peaceful people around the world have had a bellyfull of this, and want it stopped!! These actions were created to provoke precisely the response they have provoked; I am praying that there are some "adults in the room" on both sides who are working frantically to contain this, because the possibility of a regional war, followed by a world war, is a real and present danger to this world right now.

I do not want one more Israeli, or one more Palestinian to be hurt or killed;there must be a point where the madness stops, and all of our common humanity, as brothers and sisters on this planet, must be remembered, and invoked, as though it was a sacred kinship, which in my world, it is.

As history has proven, time and again, it becomes very easy to kill, under some circumstances; the hard part, is doing the hard work which allows us to live together without killing each other.

I would pray that Hamas, Fatah, and the Israeli Knesset are thinking about this, right now.

Israel posts fake videos to justify Gaza slaughter

The Israeli government posted a two-and-a-half-year-old video from Syria, claiming it was from Gaza, in order to justify its ongoing bombing campaign that has killed dozens of Palestinians since Monday.

But there is one problem: The video is old and does not appear to originate from the Gaza Strip.
The exact same video, just two seconds longer, had been posted on YouTube on 22 December 2019 by a user who indicated that it was filmed in Maarrat al-Numan, a city in northeastern Syria.

The original video contains no watermark or text suggesting any connection with Gaza.

This is a familiar propaganda tactic.

During Israel’s massive bombing campaign in Gaza in July 2014, Israel supporters widely shared a video claiming to show “Hamas using children as human shields.”

The video showed a man firing a mortar. Behind him was a group of small children huddled with an older man.

But this too was a video from the civil war in Syria, with no connection to Gaza

Webmaster's Commentary:

Tragically, but perfectly predictable, on the part of the Israeli government and media.

On April 22, more than 300 American lawmakers publicly pledged their unconditional loyalty to a foreign power.

In a letter to the chair and ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, the members of Congress cautioned against “reducing funding or adding conditions on” US welfare checks (totaling $3.8 billion annually) to Israel.

The letter name-checks US President Joe Biden, who, nearly a year ago tried to have it both ways — decrying Israeli annexation of Palestinian land and the eviction of Palestinian residents to make room for Israeli squatters (“settlers”), while likewise volubly assuring Jewish campaign donors, “I’m not going to place conditions on security assistance.”

Now Biden and members of Congress from both sides of the partisan aisle feign surprise and dismay as the Israeli regime once again makes war on the populations of the Israeli-occupied West Bank and the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip.

What the heck did they expect?

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke with his Israeli counterpart on Wednesday amid Israel’s new bombing campaign in Gaza and reaffirmed the US’s “ironclad commitment” to Israel.

“Secretary Austin conveyed the Department’s ironclad support for Israel’s legitimate right to defend itself and its people, and he strongly condemned the launching of rockets by Hamas and other terrorists groups that targeted Israeli civilians,” the Pentagon said in a readout of the call.

The US has failed to condemn or even really address the Palestinian children that have been killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. Austin also “reiterated the importance of all involved parties to take steps to restore calm.” But Israel appears to be set on escalating the situation and has rejected a truce offer from Hamas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, how soon will the US be bombing Gaza, killing women, children, the medically fragile elderly, and bombing hospitals and schools?!?

And if you do not think this is a real possibility, you have not been paying attention: the US military is still doing this in Yemen as I type this.

Israel Rejects Hamas Truce Offer, Says Gaza Campaign ‘Far From Over’

The Israeli security cabinet voted to intensify airstrikes, Defense Minister Gantz said the operation has 'no end date'
by Dave DeCamp Posted onMay 12, 2021CategoriesNewsTagsGaza, Israel, Palestine
On Wednesday night, Israel rejected a ceasefire offer from Hamas and approved a plan to intensify airstrikes in Gaza.

The truce offer from Hamas was made through the Russian foreign ministry. A Hamas official was quoted as saying that the group would halt attacks on a “mutual basis” with Israel.

According to Haaretz, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the ministers in the Israeli security cabinet agreed unanimously to reject the ceasefire and continue bombing Gaza. The cabinet then voted to escalate the attacks indefinitely

Webmaster's Commentary:

This very much reminds me of the Catholic response to the Siege at Montsegur against the Cathars, when the Catholic prelate leading the army, was told that there were women and children among the besieged Albigensian men, and "St. Dominic's" response was; "Kill them all: God will find his own."

There are a lot of factors contributing to the growing awareness of Israel's brutality, but I think the…

“Twenty-four people, including nine children, were killed in Gaza overnight, most of them in Israeli strikes,” reads a new report from AP.
Nine children, killed with the help of United States funding to the tune of $3.8 billion a year.

Remember kids, the US loves Muslims and just wants to protect their human rights.

The Monday night airstrikes were in response to rocket attacks by Gaza resistance groups which had reportedly injured six Israelis, and those rocket attacks were in turn were a response to a deluge of Israeli police brutality footage in Jerusalem in preceding days. Electronic Intifada reports:

This came at the end of a day of violence that began in occupied East Jerusalem, where Israeli forces assaulted worshippers at the al-Aqsa mosque compound, injuring hundreds.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There is a point... where adults in the room, in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Gaza are going to have to realize, that the ulgy truth is being laid bare, on the ground, with real time images that put the lie to Israel's "official narrative" which is being destroyed and dissected, point for point.

Now, the question is, what are the "adults in the room" going to do about it, or has it taken on an stoppable trajectory to cause a regional, and perhaps, world war?!?

There is a word I would use to those in the Bowels of Power in DC, and that word... is "Caution!!"

Instagram & Twitter apologize for ‘system errors’ that deleted pro-Palestine posts, but critics say they are still ‘censoring’

Days after Instagram and Twitter blamed “system errors” for deleted posts on unrest in Jerusalem, a coalition of civil society groups and digital rights activists have accused them of continuing to “censor” Palestinian content.

Palestinians facing eviction from occupied East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood have taken to social media to protest. Since last week, reports have emerged of some posts, photos and videos being removed and accounts being blocked for reportedly violating community standards.

In a joint statement on Monday, more than 20 groups called out Facebook and Twitter for “systematically silencing users protesting” and urged them to implement “transparent and coherent content moderation policies.”

Terming the scale of the content takedowns as “egregious and pronounced,” the signatories said they were indicative of a “wider pattern of consistent censorship of Palestinian and allied voices” that has been “documented for years.”

'Civil War Has Erupted': Netanyahu Declares State of Emergency in City of Lod Amid Violent Riots

The use of emergency powers by Israel, caused by the ethnic violence over a new surge in Israel-Palestinian tensions, is the first time such measures have been used on the country's Arab community since the military administration over Israel's Arabs ended in 1966.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared a state of emergency in Lod, a mixed Arab-Jewish city that has recently seen widespread and violent rioting.

Israel’s Murderous Attacks on Gaza

Israel is again conducting bloody attacks on Gaza. Interminable rounds of shelling by Israeli terrorists – known as Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) – have left in their wake infant corpses and blood-stained rubble of residential buildings. Every attempt is being made to decapitate the present and disembowel any hope for a better future. The current massacre campaigns by the Zionist state have followed the well-established pattern of colonial aggressions, characterized by an unconscionable logic of inhumanity.

Israeli Apartheid Is On Display

The Israeli government has gone out of its way in recent weeks to confirm that it is an apartheid state. In one of the latest egregious examples of this oppressive system, Israeli police attacked Palestinians inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque last Friday on one of the most important days of Ramadan using stun grenades, tear gas, and rubber-coated bullets. They did this in support of the effort to expel Palestinian families from the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in occupied East Jerusalem. Many hundreds of Palestinians have been wounded during the crackdown on their protests against this forced expulsion, including more than two hundred people injured in the raid on Al-Aqsa. The expulsion of Palestinians from their homes in territory that Israel illegally annexed is nothing less than ethnic cleansing being carried out in plain sight, but because Israeli forces are doing it to Palestinians it does not receive the same official condemnation that would usually be automatic in Washington.

Gaza Death Toll Mounts as Israel Vows Further Escalation

Israel continued its bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip through Tuesday and into Wednesday morning as the death toll continues to mount. Gaza’s health ministry said early Wednesday that so far, at least 35 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli airstrikes, including 12 children.

Israel started bombing Gaza on Monday, which was framed as retaliation for rocket fire from Gaza that did minimal damage. After the first series of Israeli airstrikes targeted residential neighborhoods and killed 20 Palestinians, including 10 children, the rocket fire out of Gaza has stepped up. According to Haaretz, at least five Israelis have been killed.

US Refuses to Condemn Israeli Airstrikes That Killed Palestinian Children

Unsurprisingly, Biden administration officials have failed to condemn Israeli airstrikes in Gaza that killed Palestinian children. As of Wednesday morning in Gaza, at least 35 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli airstrikes in the latest violence, including 12 children.

State Department spokesman Ned Price was asked on Tuesday if he would condemn the killing of Palestinian children after viewing pictures of the aftermath of the Israeli airstrikes. “The loss of innocent life is something that we would — that is deeply regrettable. It is — of course, Israel has the right to defend itself against those attacking Israel, against Hamas and terrorists responsible,” Price said.
