THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"Too many people are only willing to defend rights that are personally important to them. It's selfish ignorance, and it's exactly why totalitarian governments are able to get away with trampling on people. Freedom does not mean freedom just for the things I think I should be able to do. Freedom is for all of us. If people will not speak up for other people's rights, there will come a day when they will lose their own." -- Tony Lawrence (apl@world.std.com) 12/28/95

"They Were Seeing Blood": Bombshell Report Details CIA's 'Kidnap Or Kill' Plans Against WikiLeaks' Assange

A bombshell Yahoo News investigation published Sunday is being called the most important deep-dive exposé in years detailing the lengths the CIA and US national security state went to nab WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange while he was holed up at the Ecuadoran embassy. US officials were even having meetings discussing possible assassination of the man who exposed so many secrets of American military and clandestine actions abroad.

Dozens of US intelligence officials, including many who had served under the Trump administration, are now confirming the CIA considered "options" for kidnapping and/or assassinating Assange and that plans were mulled over at the highest levels of CIA leadership. "More than 30 former U.S. officials — eight of whom described details of the CIA’s proposals to abduct Assange," are sourced in the report, which further reveals the CIA targeted journalists who worked closely with WikiLeaks, including Glenn Greenwald.

Morgan Stanley: We Are Approaching An Inflection Point In China Policy Easing

The past two months have seen successive waves of headlines from China, first on the broad regulatory reset and then this week’s focus on property developers facing near-term funding pressures. The policy goals of these measures are first to ensure social stability and second to make economic growth more sustainable by reducing income inequality and addressing imbalances and excesses. However, they have raised concerns about a potential rise in systemic risks and a sharper slowdown in growth.

Investors’ focus has shifted from tech to the property sector, which faces challenges on two fronts. First, property developers are required to adhere to the “three red lines” – maintaining healthy liabilities-to-assets, net gearing and cash-to-short-term debt ratios – which were announced in August 2020.

"This Is Completely Avoidable" - New York Hospitals Prepare For Staffing Crisis As Vaccination Mandate Forces Mass Firings

With President Biden's federal vaccine mandate set to take effect on Monday, health-care systems around the country are suspending elective in-patient surgeries and refusing to accept ICU patients from other hospitals as they brace for potentially hundreds of firings of nurses and other critical staffers, potentially even doctors.

According to the NYT, the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo is planning to do all that and more, as it says it may soon fire about 400 employees who have chosen not to get the single job required by the edict (which was pushed through despite being blocked by a federal judge).

Similarly, officials at Northwell Health, the state's largest health-care provider, estimate that NWH might be forced to fire thousands of people who have refused to get vaccinated.

In an economy with more job openings than workers - 2.2MM more, to be exact - forcing workers to choose between employment and their health or religious compunctions simply isn't a smart idea.

Goldman Raises Year-End Oil Price Target To $90

Just days after Goldman's head commodity analyst Jeff Currie told Bloomberg TV that the bank anticipates oil spiking to $90 if the winter is colder than usual, on Sunday afternoon Goldman went ahead and made that its base case and in a note from energy strategist Damien Courvalin, he writes that with Brent prices reaching new highs since October 2018, the bank now forecasts that this rally will continue, "with our year-end Brent forecast of $90/bbl vs. $80/bbl previously."

What tipped the scales is that while Goldman has long held a bullish oil view, "the current global oil supply-demand deficit is larger than we expected, with the recovery in global demand from the Delta impact even faster than our above consensus forecast and with global supply remaining short of our below consensus forecasts."

Power Supply Shock Looms: "Global Markets Will Feel The Pinch Very Soon" Of China's Next Crisis

Distracted by the 'grandness' of the collapse of China's property development market, many have missed the fact that China faces a crisis that could directly hit Asia's economy just as hard as a financial collapse - a nationwide power supply shock.

After ramping up its coal-based power production earlier in the year, it appears Beijing has suddenly grown a conscience over its emissions and the 'average joe' could be about to feel the pain of that decision.

As Bloomberg reports, the crackdown on power consumption is being driven by rising demand for electricity and surging coal and gas prices as well as strict targets from Beijing to cut emissions.

It’s coming first to the country’s mammoth manufacturing industries: from aluminum smelters to textiles producers and soybean processing plants, factories are being ordered to curb activity or - in some instances - shut altogether.

The Importance Of Dune, Part 2: The Jihad

In 2020 I wrote a pair of editorials for the Gold Goats ‘n Guns Newsletter in sympathy to the movie’s original release for last December. This one appeared in November after the (s)election of Joe Biden as U.S. president. I’ve written a lot about the ideas contained in this essay but I felt it appropriate to revisit it now that we’re in the window of seeing our story play out on the big screen, where art still has the possibility of moving us to action.

The Jihad
“We Fremen have a saying: God created Arrakis to train the faithful. One cannot go against the word of God.”

— FRANK HERBERT
In my last editorial I talked about why Frank Herbert’s Dune was even more relevant today than when it was published in 1965. As we approached the election, after re-reading Dune, I made it into Herbert’s sequel, Dune Messiah.

Fauci Flop? New Documentary About COVID Czar Fails To Disclose Box Office Results

A new documentary called "Fauci," released by National Geographic Documentary Films two weeks ago, honors Dr. Anthony Fauci's work to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic. Since the release two weeks ago, there's been no data on ticket sales by major film sites, according to Just The News.

The new documentary was released in theaters across York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, D.C., and New Orleans on Sept. 10. No major film site, including RottenTomatoes.com, Boxoffice Pro, IMDB.com, and BoxOfficeMojo.com, has calculated ticket sales or earnings for the film.

The documentary "follows the renowned infectious disease specialist's work in two health crises: AIDS and the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Fauci agreed to participate as long as it didn't interfere with his work," NYT tweeted.

Shawn Robbins, the chief analyst with Boxoffice Pro, said it's "incredibly uncommon" for a major studio not to release box office earnings.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I certainly would not watch a puff-piece about Fauci. Would you?

NYC Fast Resembling San Fran & Vancouver 'Cities Of The Walking Dead' As Junkies, Dealers Take Over Midtown Streets With Impunity

A lengthy weekend exposé in The New York Post has chronicled how the outgoing de Blasio administration's long turning a blind eye has allowed the Garment District and some midtown Manhattan streets to increasingly resemble the deteriorating zombie-like feel of the open drug use problem in places like San Francisco, or Vancouver in Canada. It also calls to mind the reputation of an open-air crime infested drug den and "fear city" that came to define daily life and commutes in the 1970s and 1980s - also following more than a year of the Covid-induced exodus of people moving out of the city.

As Biden Releases 12K Haitians Into US, Thousands More Arrive In Panama For Northbound Trek

Thousands of Haitian migrants have somehow made it to Panama, and have passed through the treacherous jungles of the Darien Gap on their way north to the United States, according to Reuters.

According to the report which cites two Panamanian government sources, between 3,500 and 4,000 migrants are passing through 'migration reception stations' in Darien and Chiriqui, according to one source - an official with Panama's security ministry.

But wait, there's more:

Meanwhile, some 16,000 migrants are stuck in the northern Colombian beach town of Necocli, awaiting their turn on limited boat transport toward the Darien Gap, where smugglers guide groups through one of the most dangerous and impassable regions of Latin America. read more

Colombia and Panama agreed last month that 500 migrants could cross per day, but local officials have repeatedly urged them to raise the quota, saying it is far too low to keep pace with the up to 1,500 migrants who arrive in town daily. -Reuters

Central Bank Digital Currencies: A Future of Surveillance And Control

One of the most potentially far-reaching trends in the financial landscape right now is the imminent roll-out of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), and the parallel attacks which central bankers are waging on private digital currencies and tokens as they tee up the launch of their CBDCs.

First some clarifications. While the majority of central bank issued currencies (fiat currencies) in existence around the world are already in digital form, a fiat currency held in digital form is not the same as a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

What is a CBDC?

A CBDC generally refers to electronic or virtual central bank (fiat) money that is created in the form of digital tokens or account balances which are digital claims on the central bank. CBDCs will be issued by central banks and will be legal tender.

Many CBDCs that are being researched and developed employ Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), with the recording of transactions on a blockchain.

As Advisory Panel Warned, CDC Director's Anti-Science Decision Makes Boosters 'Available To Anyone Who Wants One'

Now that CDC chief Dr. Rochelle Walensky - possibly working on behalf of her political puppet masters - has overridden her agency's advisory panel to expand the eligibility for Pfizer booster jabs to high-risk workers (a group that ACIP, the advisory panel, had decided to exclude given a paucity of efficacy and safety data), many employers are confused about whether the new guidance applies to them - and whether they might be left in a difficult situation with employees who didn't get the first two vaccines.

At the end of the day, the big worry is that hundreds of thousands of shots allocated for workers might simply go unused, left to expire while dozens of poorer countries would be overjoyed to have them.

According to the Hill, chaotic and at times contradictory messaging from federal health officials has culminated in a confusing set of recommendations about who should, and shouldn't receive booster jabs, and why?

ACADEMIA IS ESTABLISHING A PERMANENT SURVEILLANCE BUREAUCRACY THAT WILL SOON GOVERN THE REST OF THE COUNTRY

Having now received a tsunami of messages from people across the US (and a few internationally) about the surveillance regimes being permanently installed at their educational institutions — in contravention of earlier assurances that the current academic year would mark a long-awaited “return to normalcy,” thanks to the onset of mass vaccination — there are a few conclusions to draw.

NEW REPORT ON PREDICTIVE POLICING SHOWS HOW NEW TECH IS GIVING US LITTLE MORE THAN THE SAME OLD RACISM

The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers has just released an in-depth examination of predictive policing. Titled "Garbage In, Gospel Out," it details the many ways bad data based on biased policing has been allowed to generate even more bad data, allowing officers to engage in more biased policing but with the blessing of algorithms.

Given that law enforcement in this country can trace itself back to pre- and post-Civil War slave patrols, it’s hardly surprising modern policing -- with all of its tech advances -- still disproportionately targets people of color. Operating under the assumption that past performance is an indicator of future results, predictive policing programs (and other so-called "intelligence-led" policing efforts) send officers to places they’ve already been several times, creating a self-perpetuating feedback loop that ensures the more often police head to a certain area, the more often police will head to a certain area.

HOW BIG CORPORATIONS AND BILL GATES TOOK OVER THE UN FOOD SUMMIT

This September 23, the United Nations holds its Food Systems Summit in New York.

Under the guise of the UN system, and despite sleight-of-hand language about “equal opportunities,” this summit represents a hostile takeover of world governance by corporate forces and the billionaire elite.

Today, social movements are standing up for democracy and against big capital’s devastation of their lands, farms, and communities.

The United Nations is based on the idea of multilateralism, where states seek peaceful solutions on the basis of equality and respect, replacing the colonialist institutions that preceded it.

That’s why for decades, the United States government has instead pushed for things like G-7, NATO, and other forms of control over geopolitics.

As far-right governments have pulled back from multilateral institutions like the UN and the WHO, corporate actors have been moving in.

PANIC HOARDING GASOLINE BEGINS AS UK PLUNGES TOWARDS "WINTER OF DISCONTENT"

One day after oil giant BP warned about rationing gasoline and diesel at UK service stations, Brits began to panic buy fuel as the government tried to calm fears.

Lines of cars and trucks are spilling over into the streets at service stations across the country. A BP spokesperson said Thursday that a truck driver shortage has resulted in its inability to transport fuel from refineries to its network of service stations. These words spooked the public, which could cause a more severe shortage due to the hoarding.

The scenes of long lines at gas stations bring back memories of the 1973 Opec Oil Crisis, the 2000 fuel shortage, and the virus pandemic disruptions amid fears the country is diving headfirst into a 1970s-style "winter of discontent" of shortages and socio-economic distress.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Only store gasoline in containers made for that purpose. And stored gas will only last about 6 months unless you add a special preservative.

HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS MORE IN FEDERAL DOLLARS ALLOCATED FOR SECOND COVID VACCINE LOTTERY IN OHIO THAT TARGETS AGES 12-25

Ohio is one of several states that funded COVID-19 “Vaccine Lotteries” to encourage residents to “roll up their sleeves” (see 1, 2). Ohio lawmakers who did NOT support the lottery introduced a bill to cancel it as well as legislation to protect residents who don’t want to take any vaccines. Nevertheless, Ohio governor Mike Dewine recently announced a new vaccine lottery for residents ages 12-25.

A VACCINE MANDATE HIDES AN ID MANDATE

As we have long feared, and as has already happened in other countries, COVID-19 vaccination requirements are being used to impose unrelated ID requirements.

There’s a difference between “unvaccinated” and “undocumented” — a difference that’s gotten lost in some recent regulations and orders imposing “vaccination mandates”.

Case in point: the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

An order from the SFDPH purports to require people entering indoor businesses or other indoor venues including anywhere food or beverages are served, gyms, and other “large indoor events” to show “proof” of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

But proof of vaccination is not what the order actually mandates. Its only real mandate is a an ID mandate, and in practice its effects would be felt primarily by undocumented people (including vaccinated but undocumented people) who don’t have or don’t choose to show ID, not by unvaccinated people.

Kidnapping, assassination and a London shoot-out: Inside the CIA's secret war plans against WikiLeaks

In 2017, as Julian Assange began his fifth year holed up in Ecuador’s embassy in London, the CIA plotted to kidnap the WikiLeaks founder, spurring heated debate among Trump administration officials over the legality and practicality of such an operation.

Some senior officials inside the CIA and the Trump administration even discussed killing Assange, going so far as to request “sketches” or “options” for how to assassinate him. Discussions over kidnapping or killing Assange occurred “at the highest levels” of the Trump administration, said a former senior counterintelligence official. “There seemed to be no boundaries.”

The conversations were part of an unprecedented CIA campaign directed against WikiLeaks and its founder. The agency’s multipronged plans also included extensive spying on WikiLeaks associates, sowing discord among the group’s members, and stealing their electronic devices.

Isikoff’s Cops and Robbers Camouflage the Big Lie

Michael Isikoff is at it again – this time with co-authors Zack Dorfan, and Sean Naylor – in a long, pot-holed piece posted Sunday on Yahoo where Isikoff is "chief investigative correspondent." Seeing the title, wouldn’t you dip in? "Kidnapping, assassination and a London shoot-out: Inside the CIA’s secret war plans against WikiLeaks."

I sent a quick tweet to alert those many readers, who are malnourished by the corporate media, to the subliminal but clear subtext; the Big Lie that Assange was a Russian agent. (After all, he published DNC emails "hacked by the Russians" to hurt candidate Clinton and throw the 2016 election to Trump. Right? "Hacked"? = Wrong.)

US Won’t Be Asking Taliban Permission to Launch Future Airstrikes in Afghanistan

The US has no plans to ask permission from the Taliban if it decides to bomb Afghanistan in the future, the Pentagon said on Friday.

Since the withdrawal, the US has maintained that it has “over the horizon capabilities” to carry out airstrikes in Afghanistan. But even though the Taliban is leading the new Afghan government, the Pentagon has no plans to coordinate with them on potential airstrikes.

“We retain all necessary authorities to execute over-the-horizon counterterrorism operations, and we remain confident in these capabilities moving forward,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told Military Times.

“Without speaking to specific rules of engagement surrounding airstrikes, there is currently no requirement to clear airspace with the Taliban, and we do not expect that any future over the horizon counterterrorism strikes would hinge on such a clearance,” he said.

50 Killed in Heavy Fighting in Yemen’s Maarib

Another weekend of heavy fighting in Yemen’s contested Maarib Province has left at least 50 fighters killed, according to pro-Saudi sources, who claimed 43 Houthis and seven soldiers killed in the past 48 hours.

This is a continuation and escalation of fighting there, after at least 140 fighters were reported killed in the past week. What had been multiple fights per week now seems to be a constant battle.

Officials estimated 400 combatants killed in the area so far in September. The exact split is not clear, as pro-Saudi officials claim Houthis are overwhelmingly killed at a higher rate, but neither side seems to be winning the fight in any definitive way.

House defeats measure to demilitarize the police

The Department of Defense has transferred $1.8 billion worth of surplus, military-grade equipment to local law enforcement agencies across the United States since 1990 through a mechanism known as the 1033 Program. The vast majority of that controlled equipment, valued at $1.6 billion, has been transferred in the past decade. “Controlled” items include small arms, demilitarized vehicles, helicopters, and night vision equipment from the Pentagon. This equipment has been used disproportionately to police black and brown communities, sometimes justified by America’s ill-devised wars on drugs and terror. It’s no wonder a majority of Americans support making it illegal for government agencies to transfer military-grade weapons to civilian police.

Humanitarian Crisis Ravages Yemen: Yet Biden Administration Continues To Service Saudi War Machine

President Joe Biden began his presidency with a promise to confront Saudi Arabia and treat the murderous regime as a "pariah." In particular, he pledged to end "all American support for offensive operations in the war in Yemen, including relevant arms sales."

Yet nearly eight months later little has changed. The president undercut his initial promise when he said "We’re going to continue to support and help Saudi Arabia defend its sovereignty and its territorial integrity and its people."

The reason Houthi insurgents battling for control of Yemen are attacking the Kingdom is because it continues offensive operations – after spending more than six years slaughtering Yemenis with attacks on weddings, funerals, school buses, apartments, and myriad other civilian targets. Even worse may be the Saudi blockade of Yemen.

Millions of Yemenis 'marching towards starvation', UN food chief warns

The UN has warned that 16 million Yemenis, more than half of the population, are "marching towards starvation", and unless the international community steps up support, food assistance could soon start to run out.

Speaking at a virtual gathering of aid and development ministers on Wednesday, David Beasley, the director of the UN's World Food Programme (WFP), described a worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where a Houthi rebel offensive is making gains in the strategic region of Marib.

"We're literally looking at 16 million people marching towards starvation," Beasley said. "We need this war to end, number one. If donors are getting fatigued, well, end the war. World leaders need to put pressure on all parties involved in this conflict because the people in Yemen have suffered enough."

20 years after 9/11, the men charged with responsibility are still waiting for trial – here’s why

As the 20th anniversary of 9/11 passed, the five men accused of responsibility for the attacks were still awaiting trial in the Guantanamo military commission.

This case is the largest criminal prosecution in U.S. history in terms of number of victims. The charge sheet lists the names of 2,976 people who were direct casualties of two hijacked commercial airliners that crashed into the World Trade Center and caused the twin towers to collapse, another that crashed into the Pentagon and a fourth, probably aiming for the U.S. Capitol building, that was brought down in a field in western Pennsylvania when several passengers overpowered their hijackers.

Yet two decades after the U.S.‘s worst terrorist attack, the 9/11 case remains mired in the pretrial phase with no start date for the trial. The hearings, which resumed September 7, 2021 after a 17-month COVID-19 related suspension, were the first for the case’s new judge – the fourth officer to fill that role.

Over 70 children among hundreds of Palestinians injured by Israeli forces in West Bank

More than 500 Palestinians, including over 70 children, were wounded as a result of attacks by Israeli armed forces over the past two weeks in the West Bank, a UN report has revealed.

A biweekly report published by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said 568 people, amongst them 73 children, were injured in assaults carried out by Israeli authorities.

It said out of those, 320 were wounded during demonstrations against Israeli settlement activities in the Nablus district.

Despite being illegal under international law, Israel has insisted that it will keep building settlements in the West Bank, large areas of which fall under its control.

Almost half a million people live in these settlements, alongside 2.8 million Palestinians.

Taliban ask airlines to resume international flights to Afghanistan

The Taliban government in Afghanistan appealed on Sunday for international flights to be resumed, promising full cooperation with airlines and saying that problems at Kabul airport had been resolved.

The statement from the foreign affairs ministry comes as the new administration has stepped up efforts to open up the country and gain international acceptance following the collapse of the Western-backed government last month.

A limited number of aid and passenger flights have been operating from the airport. But normal commercial services have yet to resume since it was closed in the wake of the chaotic evacuation of tens of thousands of foreigners and vulnerable Afghans that followed the Taliban's seizure of the capital.

Exclusive-Under U.S. Sanctions, Iran and Venezuela Strike Oil Export Deal - Sources

Venezuela has agreed to a key contract to swap its heavy oil for Iranian condensate that it can use to improve the quality of its tar-like crude, with the first cargoes due this week, five people close to the deal said.

As the South American country seeks to boost its flagging oil exports in the face of U.S. sanctions, according to the sources, the deal between state-run firms Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) deepens the cooperation between two of Washington's foes.

One of the people said the swap agreement is planned to last for six months in its first phase, but could be extended. Reuters could not immediately determine other details of the mwpact.

The oil ministries of Venezuela and Iran, and state-run PDVSA and NIOC did not reply to requests for comment.

Fiery clash at UN as Pakistan, India trade extremism charges

India and Pakistan clashed Friday at the United Nations as Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan accused the rival of a "reign of terror" on Muslims, drawing a stern rebuke.

Even for Pakistan, which routinely castigates India at the world body, Khan's speech to the annual summit was strikingly loaded as he accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a plan to "purge India of Muslims."

"The worst and most pervasive form of Islamophobia now rules India," Khan said in an address, delivered by video due to Covid precautions.

"The hate-filled Hindutva ideology, propagated by the fascist RSS-BJP regime, has unleashed a reign of fear and violence against India's 200 million-strong Muslim community," he said.

Tunisia: Thousands of protesters call on president to resign as opposition deepens

Several thousand people gathered in Tunis on Sunday under a heavy police presence to protest against Tunisian President Kais Saied's seizure of governing powers in July and called on him to step down.

Saied this week brushed aside much of the 2014 constitution, giving himself power to rule by decree two months after he sacked the prime minister, suspended parliament and assumed executive authority.

"The people want the fall of the coup," they chanted in the centre of Tunis along Habib Bourguiba Avenue, a focal point of the demonstrations that ended the long rule of president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali on 14 January, 2011. "Step down."

Phones of 5 French ministers said infected with malware from Israel’s NSO Group

The mobile phones of at least five French ministers and a diplomatic advisor to President Emmanuel Macron were infected by the Israeli-made Pegasus spyware, sources told AFP on Friday, confirming a report by the Mediapart investigative website.

French security services detected the software while inspecting the phones, with the intrusions believed to have taken place in 2019 and 2020, according to the report from Mediapart on Friday.

Pegasus, made by the Israeli firm NSO Group, can switch on a phone’s camera or microphone and harvest its data, and was at the center of a storm in July after a list of about 50,000 potential surveillance targets worldwide was leaked to the media.

Vegan Restaurant Denies Me Service for Not Taking COVID Shot Derived from Fetal Heart Tissue

In CBC’s Morning Brief, yesterday, they reported:

In Hamilton, Ont., The Hearty Hooligan, a vegan restaurant, warned customers last week through its Instagram account about provincial vaccine certificate requirements that began Wednesday.

Head chef Matthew Miles said they’ve faced an onslaught of angry comments from people accusing them of everything from discrimination to supporting tyranny.

Having followed a vegan diet for many years now, I thought I’d give The Hearty Hooligan a call. I was confused. After all, the vegan diet is about abstinence from animal products (for moral or health reasons) yet…

The COVID-19 vaccine is derived from human heart tissue, which while not from an animal, is certainly not vegan. And considering the tissue may have been extracted from the dying heart of an aborted fetus, means it hardly falls into the non-violent category.

If you won’t hurt a fish, why would you hurt a three-month old human fetus?

De-Listed Anti-China Terror Group “Rises from the Dead”

Suspicions were raised when in late 2020 the US de-listed as a terrorist organization the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), sometimes referred to as the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP).

This was because the US had claimed as its rationale that the ETIM/TIP had not been active for over a decade despite the US itself admitting to striking ETIM/TIP targets in Afghanistan as recently as 2018, just 2 years before the de-listing.

A 2020 Guardian article titled, “US removes shadowy group from terror list blamed by China for attacks,” for example, would note:

In a notice in the Federal Register, which publishes new US laws and rules, the secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, said on Friday he was revoking the designation of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) as a “terrorist organization.”

“ETIM was removed from the list because, for more than a decade, there has been no credible evidence that ETIM continues to exist,” a state department spokesperson said.

Video: US-led Coalition Denies Responsibility for Drone Strikes against Syria

The U.S.-led international coalition denied responsibility for a drone attack that allegedly targeted al-Qaeda affiliated Horas al-Din commanders. Sources in Greater Idlib said that the target of the drone strike was either sheikh Abu al-Bar’a al-Tunisi, a leader of al-Qaeda-linked Horas al-Din, or the terrorist group’s military commander Abu Hamzah al-Yamani.

In its turn, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby claimed the U.S. strike was a success, referring to the data of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces, which recognized responsibility for the strike.

Once again Washington proved its unwillingness to defer to its allies.

Austria Denies Social Programs to Non-Vaccinated. “Loose All Benefits”. The Gates Agenda

Dr. Alexander Van der Bellen, who was inaugurated as the Federal President of the Republic of Austria on January 26, 2017, has taken another undemocratic, authoritarian position that anyone unemployed because of the state’s lockdowns who refuses the vaccine will lose ALL benefits. This is absolute tyranny and a disgrace to any country that pretends to be free. It has been reported:

“Unusual measure: Austria’s Minister of Labor Martin Kocher (ÖVP) has decided to block unemployment benefits for job seekers if they do not apply for a reasonable position because a vaccination is required there or simply not accepting an offered position.”

Something is seriously wrong. The vaccination was supposed to protect you, but now the unvaccinated threaten the vaccinated. Does that then prove that the vaccinations do not work? If the death rate is less than 1%, then why are governments forcing such vaccines?

California Schools Prepare for Thousands of Afghan Refugee Students

In California, home to the largest number of Afghan refugees in the country, school officials are preparing for an influx of students who fled Afghanistan with their families after the Taliban seized power in the country last month.

Schools are especially busy in Sacramento and Fremont, which have two of the largest Afghan communities in the state. Over 40% of the nation’s Afghan refugees have resettled in the Sacramento region in recent years, according to Jessie Tientcheu, chief executive officer of Opening Doors, a resettlement agency based in Sacramento.

Elk Grove Unified School District began offering culturally appropriate meals and setting aside rooms in many of its middle and high schools for prayer during Muslim holidays in preparation for the additional Afghan students it expects in the next month. San Juan Unified is offering Saturday school for English learners, and Fremont Unified is planning to hire more translators.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Staff at MSNBC are panicking over network’s direction under Rashida Jones

MSNBC staffers are panicking over the direction of the left-leaning news network under newly minted President Rashida Jones, fearing that she’s gearing up for a costly and potentially disastrous battle with CNN, The Post has learned.

Staffers say recent meetings with Jones and her boss, NBCUniversal news chief Cesar Conde, have focused on hard news — with the execs boasting of ratings wins over CNN on breaking stories, such as this summer’s congressional hearings on the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol.

That makes some employees nervous that MSNBC isn’t adequately focused on shoring up its primetime lineup of opinion-focused shows that draw in the most loyal viewers. The issue burst into the open last month when news leaked that Rachel Maddow, the network’s star, had been negotiating a new contract and had threatened to leave.

The New Yorker hosted environmental activist and professor Andreas Malm on their podcast where he promoted "intelligent sabotage" and property damage as a way to stop climate change.

"Andreas Malm insists that the environmental movement rethink its roots in nonviolence and instead embrace ‘intelligent sabotage,’" the description of the interview states.

In the podcast, Malm, who is a professor from Lund University, emphasized "a call for escalation, a call for the movement to diversify its tactics and move away from an exclusive focus on polite, gentle and perfectly peaceful civil disobedience."

"I am recommending that the movement continues with mass action and civil disobedience, but also opens up for property destruction," Malm said.

While Malm, who is a human ecology professor at Lund University does not dismiss peaceful demonstrations and does not condone hurting people, he did emphasize that destroying private property would not be "morally illegitimate."

Former Apple engineer says the button on iPhones asking apps not to track you is a 'dud' that gives users a 'false sense of privacy'

Johnny Lin, a former Apple engineer and co-founder of the software company Lockdown Privacy says Apple's "Ask App Not To Track" button is a "dud" that gives users "a false sense of privacy," according to a Washington Post report.

Even if users request apps not to collect their activity across other companies' apps and websites, popular iPhone apps like Subway Surfers still collect personal data, a new study by Lockdown Privacy determined.

"We found that App Tracking Transparency made no difference in the total number of active third-party trackers," the study says. "We further confirmed that detailed personal or device data was being sent to trackers in almost all cases."

Taliban hang dead bodies of 'kidnappers' in four squares of Afghan city Herat, eyewitness says

The Taliban has hanged the dead bodies of alleged kidnappers in four squares across the Afghan city of Herat after killing them during a shootout, eyewitnesses have claimed.

Wazir Ahmad Seddiqi, who runs a pharmacy beside the main square in Herat, said four dead bodies were brought to the square and were hanged from a crane.

He said three bodies were moved to other squares in the city in western Afghanistan to be displayed, in a gruesome move that signalled a return to some of the Taliban's past methods.

Democrats outside D.C. worry party will blow its chance of enacting historic agenda — a failure with grave political consequences

Gilda Cobb-Hunter is furious with fellow Democrats. A veteran social worker, civil rights activist and the longest-serving member of the South Carolina House, she is losing patience with the infighting that has stalled efforts to enact the agenda the party sold to voters.

“I am seething at how Democrats continuously revert to the circular firing squad method of governing,” she said. “I just don’t understand it. I don’t understand why we continue to do that.”

As Democrats in Washington struggle through contentious negotiations over a sweeping domestic policy proposal, many party activists and officials across the country are watching with a collective head-shake and mounting anxiety.

They see Democrats in control of the White House and Congress, yet so far unable to resolve their differences over a multitrillion-dollar infrastructure and social safety net package.

'They’re doubling down on something that is cratering in the polls': Meghan McCain blasts Joe Biden's Build Back Better campaign as she appears on Meet the Press for first time since leaving The View

In her first television appearance since leaving her post as co-host of The View, Meghan McCain served as the lone conservative on the panel of Sunday's NBC News' Meet the Press.

The panel discussed the divide between the progressives and the moderates in the Democratic party, with McCain claiming that while President Joe Biden ran on being a moderate, he is governing as a progressive.

'He ran and won with the help of independent centrists, Trump-weary Republicans, and he is not governing as one,' McCain said.

Mayorkas FINALLY admits 12,000 illegal Haitians out of 17,000 have been released into the US, and number could go 'even higher': He DOWNPLAYS border crisis by saying 'I wouldn't call it a flood'

Alejandro Mayorkas finally admitted on Sunday that 12,000 Haitian migrants have been released into the U.S., claiming that number could go up as 5,000 other cases are still being processed and confusingly says not stopping illegal immigration is a 'proud tradition.'

'Approximately, I think it's about 10,000 or so – 12,000 thousand,' Mayorkas told Fox News Sunday when asked how many have already been released into the country.

'It could be even higher,' he added. 'The number that are returned could be even higher. What we do is we follow the law as Congress has passed it.'

NY BLM Leader: De Blasio’s ‘Vaccine Mandate Is Racist and Specifically Targets Black New Yorkers’

One of the leaders of Black Lives Matter’s Greater New York chapter slammed Mayor Bill de Blasio for the city’s vaccine mandate, explaining the “mandate is racist and specifically targets black New Yorkers,” in a statement to Fox News.

Chivona Newsome cofounded the Greater New York Chapter of Black Lives Matter and ran as a congressional candidate for New York’s 15th district in the 2020 election. The former Congressional candidate blasted de Blasio’s vaccine mandate in a statement to Fox News.

“Although Mayor Bill De Blasio ran on progressives values, nothing in his tenure will attest to his campaign promises,” Newsome explained to Fox. “The September 13th vaccine mandate is racist and specifically targets Black New Yorkers. The vaccination passports are modern-day Freedom Papers, which limit the free will of Black people.”

Report: Companies Stand to Make Billions Off Coronavirus Booster Shots

The advent of coronavirus booster shots could rake in billions of dollars in profits for companies like Pfizer and Moderna, according to the Associated Press (AP).

“Billions more in profits are at stake for some vaccine makers as the U.S. moves toward dispensing COVID-19 booster shots to shore up Americans’ protection against the virus,” reported the AP. “How much the manufacturers stand to gain depends on how big the rollout proves to be.”

Blackburn: Biden ‘Turning Every Town into a Border Town and Every State into a Border State’

On Sunday, Sunday, on New York WABC 770 AM radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) ripped President Joe Biden’s handling of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Blackburn told host John Catsimatidis that Biden, through his “open-border policy,” is “turning every town into a border town and every state into a border state.”

“I think the thing we’re hearing most about in my office right now is what is going on with the southern border because it is amazing that we see this president with his decisions turning every town into a border town and every state into a border state,” Blackburn advised. “And you know, John, I think that with people watching what is happening, seeing that footage, and then hearing from these families of the Border Patrol and many of the Border Patrol themselves about their concerns that they now realize this is a humanitarian crisis, a health crisis, an environmental crisis, and, of course, a national security crisis.”

Dallas Public Schools Will No Longer Suspend Students Because Too Few White Students Are Suspended....

Welcome to post-America America, where the standards once governing white America are entirely abandoned, because non-white America no longer represents America. [Dallas ISD will no longer suspend high school and middle school students, introduces ‘reset centers’ as new disciplinary action: Data shows prior to the pandemic, of the students placed in out-of-school suspension, 52% were African American, 44% were Hispanic and 2.4% were white., wfaa.com, September 23, 2021]:

Dallas Independent School District is making some changes in how it addresses student disciplinary issues across middle and high school campuses. The school district is doing away with in-school and out-of-school suspensions as disciplinary practices. The district, instead, will address student behavior issues by incorporating “reset centers” in its 52 middle and high schools.

We Call This Treason: Homeland Security Secretary Admits 12,000+ Illegal Aliens Released in USA - After Promising They Would be Repatriated

We call this treason. The Department of Homeland Security is nothing more than an institution perpetuating Homeland insecurity as deliberate policy to undermine the rule of law and fundamentally alter the racial population of the United States of America.[Mayorkas admits 12,000 Haitians released in US — and more could follow, New York Post, September 26, 2021]:

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted on Sunday that more than 12,000 Haitian migrants have been released into the US and more may follow.

He told “Fox News Sunday” that there are about 12,400 Haitians in the process of having asylum claims heard by an immigration judge, while around 5,000 are being processed by the Department of Homeland Security.

About 3,000 are being detained.

“Approximately, I think it’s about 10,000 or so, 12,000,” Mayorkas responded when asked how many migrants have already been released.

Insouciant Americans Are Complicit in Their Own Demise

Americans are a helpless people. The 4th July flag-waving crowd believe “our government could never do anything wrong” and are important enablers of the secret agendas perpetuated on the American people. A people incapable of distrusting the government is incapable of being free.

The liberal-progressive-left Democrats who hate America because it is white and racist are pleased that the historic achievement of civil liberty is being dismantled, because the destruction of the Constitution aids in getting rid of white people.

Is the orchestrated “Covid Pandemic” part of the dismantling of the Constitution and reduction of white Americans to a minority?

Much evidence supports this conclusion.

New Proof Emerges of the Biden Family Emails: a Definitive Account of the CIA/Media/BigTech Fraud

A severe escalation of the war on a free internet and free discourse has taken place over the last twelve months. Numerous examples of brute and dangerous censorship have emerged: the destruction by Big Tech monopolies of Parler at the behest of Democratic politicians at the time that it was the most-downloaded app in the country; the banning of the sitting president from social media; and the increasingly explicit threats from elected officials in the majority party of legal and regulatory reprisals in the event that tech platforms do not censor more in accordance with their demands.

Brandon Judd: Biden’s Added Nearly 1M Illegal Aliens to U.S. in Eight Months

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd says President Joe Biden has added nearly one million illegal aliens to the United States population since taking office in late January.

In an op-ed for Fox News, Judd writes that the total number of border crossers Biden has released into the U.S. — including Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs), family units, and single adults — is upwards of 600,000 since late January.

The massive Catch and Release operation ensures border crossers and illegal aliens are released into the U.S. with only notices to appear in immigration court or notices to report to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

Data from 2019 found 9-in-10 border crossers given the notice to appear in immigration court never show up to their court hearings. Instead, the overwhelming majority live illegally across the U.S.

Texas Gov. Abbott Vows to Employ US Border Patrol Agents Whose Jobs Are 'At Risk' by Biden Admin

US President Joe Biden garnered GOP criticism by telling reporters on Friday that "there will be consequences" after US Border Patrol agents on horseback were seen attacking Haitian migrants approaching the US border with Mexico. The White House dismissed claims that Biden's remarks on the agents interfered with an ongoing probe.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) came to the defense of mounted US Border Patrol agents seen charging Haitian migrants earlier this month, stating that the blame was on Biden and his administration, rather than on the actions of horse-riding border officers.

"You have a job in the state of Texas," the Texas governor asserted during a Sunday appearance on "Fox News Sunday" with Chris Wallace. "I will hire you to help Texas secure our border."

Voters want Germany’s election winner SPD to seek coalition with Greens & FDP, not Merkel’s bloc – chancellor candidate Scholz

The Social Democrats’ candidate for Germany’s next chancellor, Olaf Scholz, said his party has received a mandate to form a government with the Greens and liberal FDP rather than with its old partner, Merkel’s center-right bloc.

“The voters have very clearly spoken. They said who should form the next government,” Scholz said on Monday.

They strengthened three parties – the Social Democrats, the Greens and FDP [Free Democratic Party]– and therefore that is the clear mandate that the citizens of this country have given. These three should form the next government.

Conservative wing of Merkel’s bloc says party leadership must resign after ‘debacle’ in Germany’s general election

The conservative wing of Angela Merkel’s center-right CDU/CSU union said the party’s leadership is responsible for the historic failure in Sunday’s parliamentary election in Germany.

“The board of directors and party leaders of the CDU and CDU must draw the conclusions from the election debacle in the federal elections on September 26, 2021 and resign immediately,” the party’s informal conservative wing, the Values Union, said in a statement.

The group argued that Armin Laschet, the CDU’s leader and candidate to replace Merkel as chancellor, and Markus Soeder, the head of the CDU’s sister party in Bavaria, the Christian Social Union (CSU), bear personal responsibility for the loss and must step down as well. The Values Union called for the new leadership of the CDU to be elected directly by all party members, rather than through a system of delegates.

The Values Union was formed in 2017, mostly by longtime members of the CDU and CSU, according to their website.

The mess Merkel leaves behind could eventually lead to the collapse of the EU. Now that would be a legacy to be proud of

What legacy does Merkel leave behind for the European Union? It’s one of resentment, border fences, anti-EU parties on the rise, a cultural divide between east and west, and who knows how many would-be jihadists on our streets.

One thing is for certain, Germany will have a new chancellor next week. This is important, not only for Germany, but also for Europe, and, indeed, the world.

The German chancellor is not only the highest ranking politician in Germany – the president is largely ceremonial – it also comes with the title of being the most powerful politician in the European Union.

Indeed, when it comes to European politics, what the German chancellor wants, they almost always get. It has ever been so.

This means that the German chancellor has the ability to frame European policy, and what they decide or do has a knock-on effect for everybody else.

‘Cold War-style crusade against dissenters’: Lavrov roasts Biden’s idea of ‘democracy summit’ that ‘divides world into us v them’

Russia’s Foreign Minister has criticized the US' idea to convene a “Leader’s Summit for Democracy”, calling it another example of Cold War-style block mentality that would split the international community into “us and them.”

Speaking during the fifth day of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on Saturday, Lavrov ripped into the current US foreign policy, accusing Washington of trying to split the international community into Cold War-style blocks.

In August, US President Joe Biden floated the idea to convene a “Leader’s Summit for Democracy” – and this, according to Lavrov, is a glaring example of this divisive policy.

Defiant Clinton tells Twitter to call her ‘Madam Chancellor,’ as fans fantasize of her being POTUS & critics call her ‘Palpatine’

After a not-so-hearty reception from a crowd outside Queen’s University in Belfast as it honored her with the title of its first-ever female chancellor, ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton flaunted caped pics on Twitter.

Clinton became the chancellor of Queen’s University on Friday to the cries of “war criminal” from a small crowd of hecklers outside, but reactions to her visit and social media mockery of the images of her wardrobe have done little to deter her from celebrating the newly acquired title.

“Just call me Madam Chancellor,” Clinton tweeted on Saturday, attaching images of her in a large gown at Friday’s ceremony, while a child carried her cape behind her.

‘Bizarrely huge’ Nazi flag ‘flown by Palestinians’ makes skeptics cry ‘Photoshop’ (it was not)

Many commenters cried foul after an image of an enormous-looking Nazi flag flying over a Palestinian town in the West Bank was shared by pro-Israeli accounts. It apparently was a trick of perspective, not poor Photoshop skills.

One can see how the photo, which was reportedly taken in the town of Beit Ummar, could challenge someone’s suspension of disbelief. The swastika-decorated flag shown in it looks huge in comparison to houses in the background and appears to be unnaturally stuck between power lines. So, skeptical commenters rushed to point out what they saw as glaring inconsistencies when the image was shared this weekend on social media.

This image was altered from its original form. They neglected to edit out one of three wires. This is deliberately misleading. For shame. @verified@TwitterSafetypic.twitter.com/NBPKwRkilR

Tucker Highlights Clip Of Biden Saying Whites Becoming A Minority Is 'A Source Of Our Strength'

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday night played a clip of Joe Biden from 2015 hailing white people becoming a minority in America as "a source of our strength" and something "we can be most proud of."

Tucker said Biden's own words show the goal of mass immigration is "to change the racial mix of the country."

"In political terms, this policy is called the Great Replacement," Tucker said. "The replacement of legacy Americans with more obedient people from far away countries."

INTERNMENT AND RESETTLEMENT OPERATIONS

Field manual (FM) 3-39.40 is aligned with FM 3-39, the military police keystone FM. FM 3-39.40 providesguidance for commanders and staffs on internment and resettlement (I/R) operations. This manual addresses I/Roperations across the spectrum of conflict, specifically the doctrinal paradigm shift from traditional enemyprisoner of war (EPW) operations to the broader and more inclusive requirements of detainee operations.

Additionally, FM 3-39.40 discusses the critical issue of detainee rehabilitation. It describes the doctrinalfoundation, principles, and processes that military police and other elements will employ when dealing with I/Rpopulations. As part of internment, these populations include U.S. military prisoners, and multiple categories ofdetainees(civilian internees[CIs], retained personnel[RP], and enemy combatants), while resettlementoperations are focused on multiple categories of dislocated civilians (DCs)

The UK Government has been faced with a fuel crisis driven by a shortfall of about 100,000 licensed lorry drivers due to the COVID-19 pandemic and post-Brexit issues, with cabinet ministers scrambling to find a swift solution to the problem.

British Army soldiers could be drafted in to drive fuel to petrol stations across the country in line with an emergency plan considered by Boris Johnson, reported The Guardian.
The Prime Minister and his senior cabinet members will ostensibly be scrutinising on Monday afternoon how to apply so-called “Operation Escalin” to resolve the acute supply issues on UK forecourts if panic-buying continues, claimed sources cited by the outlet.

House passes bill to force young women to sign up for the draft

New legislation mandating that girls register for the military draft is now one major step closer to implementation.

The requirement forcing young women between the ages of 18 and 26 to register for Selective Service now awaits only Senate reconciliation and the president’s signature after the U.S. House of Representatives voted Thursday night to pass a crucial national defense bill containing altered language forcing young women to be drafted alongside men in the event of future military conscription.

The $778 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), an annual defense package, was passed after 181 Democrats and 135 Republicans in the House voted to approve it.

Only 38 Democrats and 75 Republicans voted against the legislation.

The policy bill will now be punted back to the Senate for reconciliation with an earlier version of the legislative package already approved by the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC).

Parliamentarian Blocks Amnesty, But Dem Budget Bill Still An Immigration Trojan Horse

Immigration patriots received good news last week when the Senate Parliamentarian ruled against the proposed Amnesty concealed in the budget bill. Elizabeth MacDonough found that the provision, which would have legalized at least eight million illegals, was inappropriate. But the Democrats are unashamed. They’re still trying to jam an Amnesty into the bill— WA State Rep. Pramila Jayapal, chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and herself an immigrant, reportedly bawled during a meeting with President Biden about it [Tears in the Oval Office, by Tara Palmeri et al., Politico, September 23, 2021]. Worse, the bill still contains measures that would also boost legal immigration. It’s still a Trojan Horse, if arguably a smaller one. No matter how bad the border crisis or how poorly the Democrats perform in the polls, they are fanatical in their drive to replace the Historic American Nation. It’s almost as if they’re worried about the 2022 midterm elections.

Biden’s Border Betrayal Is Anarcho-Tyranny Aimed At “State Conquest”—The Dispossession Of Historic America

“Sovereign is he who decides on the exception,” wrote Carl Schmitt in Political Theology. In The Concept of the Political, he decreed: “The specific political distinction to which political actions and motives can be traced is the distinction between friend and enemy” [emphasis his]. The pretty lies of liberal, legalistic, and ostensibly rational government go out the window when the state takes sides, using power against its foes regardless of the facts or the law. But even Schmitt couldn’t have imagined a state seemingly dedicated to its own annihilation and targeting its own defenders. Nevertheless, that’s what the U.S. government has become today, under Joe Biden.

'This Is Our Space! You're White!' Black Activists Order White Students to Leave 'Multicultural' Center at ASU

Video out of Arizona State University on Thursday shows a pair of black activists ordering two white students to leave a "multicultural" center for being white.

"You're white!" one of the female black activists screamed at two white ASU students who were quietly studying. "Do you understand what a multicultural space-- it means you're not being centered!"

"This white man thinks he can take up our space... he thinks he can get away with this!" one of the activists said.

The activists, who are both students at ASU, accused the white students of "violence" for having a "Police Lives Matter" sticker on one of their laptops and mocked the idea that "diversity" includes being inclusive of white people.

After one of the white students who got kicked out of the venue said they were making the multicultural space less "diverse," the black activists burst out laughing, saying "oh wow, so diversity is about about including more white people?!"

‘I don’t want to shame Greta Thunberg, but…’: Activist dubbed ‘anti-Greta’ by media RIPS INTO ‘climate alarmism’

The media have invented the ‘anti-Greta’ label to portray her as an “evil right antichrist,” but it only attracted more people to her ideas, Naomi Seibt, who says the human effect on climate change is vastly exaggerated, told RT.

Seibt calls herself a “climate realist” and bluntly rejects the term “climate change denier,” which is another label used to describe her and her supporters by the opposing side. It implies that “we’re just selfish and ignorant,” but it’s not the case, she pointed out.

“We’re about being scientific skeptics and looking into more sensible ways to improve the environment to be more in line with our values when it comes to interacting with nature,” the 19-year-old said.

It looks a much less radical stance than the one of 17-year-old environmental activist and mainstream media darling Greta Thunberg, who insists that mankind must urgently cut emissions to zero to avoid a catastrophic breakdown of the climate on Earth.

‘Living in a parallel universe’: Australian PM boasts of Aussies' love of freedom to UN as police crackdown continues at home

Under Obama, the CIA wanted to define Julian Assange and other journalists as “information brokers” in order to ramp up their spying on them. And during the Trump era, it prepared plans to abduct or kill the WikiLeaks founder.

The claims about the extraordinary lengths to which the CIA under Director Mike Pompeo were prepared to go to get Assange were made on Sunday in a Yahoo News report based on interviews with more than 30 former US officials. The report offers an insight into how the US national security apparatus was escalating its war with WikiLeaks under two consecutive US administrations.

Serbia’s president blasts world’s ‘thunderous silence’ over ‘occupation’ of northern Kosovo as tensions in breakaway region soar

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic says foreign partners are turning a blind eye to a security crackdown in Serb-majority areas of Kosovo, where the breakaway region’s forces have brought essential cross-border traffic to a halt.

“The complete occupation of northern Kosovo and Metohija with armored vehicles by Pristina has been going on for the past seven days, and everyone in the international community stays thunderously silent,” Vucic said on Sunday, referring to the region by its Serbian name.

The statement refers to the ongoing crisis in northern Kosovo, involving several crossings into inner Serbia, which have been effectively blocked by the partially recognized authorities of Kosovo after the government in Pristina banned cars with Serbian license plates from entering the region.

The preliminary results of the German election show a victory for the Social Democrats, which edged out outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative CDU/CSU union by little more than 1%. All eyes now turn to coalition talks.

After running neck and neck with the center-right CDU/CSU union, led by Merkel’s successor, Christian Democrat Armin Laschet, Olaf Scholz’s center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) pulled ahead, receiving 25.7% of the vote, Germany’s electoral management body reported on Monday morning.

The CDU/CSU secured 24.1% of the vote in a historic low for the union in a federal election. The Greens, on the other hand, gained ground from 2017, receiving 14.8% of the vote, while the anti-establishment Alternative for Germany (AfD) received 10.3%. A potential kingmaker in the race, the classical liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP), ended up with 11.5%. The Left Party (Die Linke) was around 5% short of its previous results, with 4.9%.

The AUKUS preparing a nuclear war to sustain Taiwan

The announcement of the Australian-British-US (A-UK-US) pact [1] was like an earthquake in the Indo-Pacific region.

There is no doubt that Washington is preparing for a long-term military confrontation with China.

Until now, the Western deployment to contain China politically and militarily has involved the United States and the United Kingdom as well as France and Germany. Today, the Europeans are left out. And tomorrow the area will be controlled by the Quad+ (US and UK, plus Australia, India and Japan). Washington is preparing a war in one or two decades.

While France and Germany have not been consulted on this strategy, nor even warned of its public announcement (but other countries had been warned, such as Indonesia), the new device should be staged next week in Washington.

Rand Corporation: How to Destroy Russia

According to their analysts, Russia remains a powerful adversary for the United States in certain fundamental sectors. To handle this opposition, the USA and their allies will have to pursue a joint long-term strategy which exploits Russia’s vulnerabilities. So Rand analyses the various means with which to unbalance Russia, indicating for each the probabilities of success, the benefits, the cost, and the risks for the USA.

Rand analysts estimate that Russia’s greatest vulnerability is that of its economy, due to its heavy dependency on oil and gas exports. The income from these exports can be reduced by strengthening sanctions and increasing the energy exports of the United States. The goal is to oblige Europe to diminish its importation of Russian natural gas, and replace it by liquefied natural gas transported by sea from other countries.

Press review: Congress takes aim at Russian debt market and why the US wants Kazakhstan

A new bill has been submitted to the US House of Representatives. Apart from imposing restrictions on individuals, it also bans American investors from purchasing new issues of Russian bonds in the secondary market, Izvestia writes.

Talk about American sanctions against Russia's sovereign debt had been going on for several years before restrictions were actually introduced following the ascent of Joe Biden and his administration to the White House, who prohibited US financial institutions from participating in the primary market for the Russian sovereign debt in April. Following the ban, foreign investors started to reduce their portfolios of Russian government bonds, but the trend reversed in September and foreign investment in the sector grew by 20%. Foreign investors flocked to the Russian financial market largely out of confidence that high tensions between Moscow and Washington were over and there wouldn’t be any harsher sanctions. However, doubts have now returned.

Headed to Georgia, Turkey: NATO ships return to Black Sea

Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey are full NATO members, Georgia and Ukraine are NATO Enhanced Opportunities Partners. The only littoral state not a NATO member or advanced partner is Russia. Non-recognized Abkhazia also is on the Black Sea. It would be an immediate target in NATO’s plans for the “liberation of occupied territories.” Moldova is also near the Black Sea, so a coordinated assault in the region would include Abkhazia, Crimea, Donetsk, South Ossetia and Transdniester.

How Washington hustled up the foundations of a global electronic kraken

We may have had a more equitable and decentralized international system today if not for US intervention on behalf of Microsoft. Big Tech thereafter underwent a series of sinister functions at the expense of fundamental freedoms.

It was the 1980s. A resurgent Japan was colonizing one civilian market after another through sheer diligence and ingenuity. In terms of quantity and quality, Japanese manufacturers were bankrupting a variety of industrial strongholds, ranging from Swiss watchmakers to US auto giants. Whether it was school stationery, household appliances or nylon saris, quality with affordability could only be ‘Made in Japan’. America was in particularly deep trouble.
