A jury found Project Veritas liable in a federal civil case for fraudulently misrepresenting itself and violating wiretapping laws after the conservative group targeted a Democratic political consulting firm in an undercover operation, per the New York Times.

The big picture: Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe said on the group's YouTube channel Thursday night they'll appeal the verdict after the jury awarded the consulting firm, Democracy Partners, $120,000 in the case.

Details: Lawyers for Democracy Partners told the jury in Washington earlier this month their clients "were the victims of political spying conducted by Project Veritas" during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to Politico.

State-organised demonstrations to counter nationwide anti-government protests triggered by the death of a woman in police custody kicked off in several Iranian cities on Friday, with marchers calling for the execution of rioters.

Demonstrators condemned the anti-government protesters as "Israel's soldiers", live state television coverage showed. They also shouted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel", common slogans the country's clerical rulers use to try and stir up support for authorities.

"Offenders of the Koran must be executed," the crowds chanted.

Iranians have staged mass demonstrations over the case of Mahsa Amini, 22, who died last week after being arrested by the morality police for wearing "unsuitable attire".

Amini's death has reignited anger over issues including restrictions on personal freedoms in Iran, strict dress codes for women and an economy reeling from sanctions.

Less then a week after Goldman slashed its 2022 GDP forecast to stagnation (i.e. 0% growth) hinting that a recession was on deck...

...and just two days after we reported that Goldman's chief equity strategist David Kostin launched a trial balloon, telling clients that even as he still has a 4300 year-end price target on the S&P500, he saw the broad index tumbling as low as 2,900 in a recession, when we commented that "and there is your bogey: within 2-3 months, right after the BLS discovers the "mistakes" it had been making in its labor model and rectifies them sending the US in a brutal recession, expect Goldman to slash its optimistic 4,300 price target to one at or below 3,000 as a recession now becomes the bank's base case scenario", overnight Goldman did just that, and while it has yet to cut to 3,000 - after all a recession is still not the bank's base case, but it will be in a few weeks - David Kostin, who has been dead wrong about pretty much everything over the past year (his initial 2022 year-end forecast was 5,100 set last November) just slashed his year-end S&P target from 4,300 to a whopping 3,600, which is not just almost 20% lower but is below the market's current price!

If China invades Taiwan to unify it with the mainland, the United States will go to war to defend Taiwan and send U.S. troops to fight the invaders.

That is the commitment made last week by President Joe Biden.

Asked by CBS’s Scott Pelley on 60 Minutes if the U.S. would fight in defense of Taiwan if China invaded, Biden replied, ”Yes, if, in fact, there was an unprecedented attack.”

Pelley followed up: ”So, unlike Ukraine, to be clear, sir, U.S. forces—U.S. men and women—would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.”

”Yes,” Biden responded.

Protests in Iran over the killing of a young Kurdish woman for not wearing her headscarf properly continued to spread on Thursday, despite an increasingly brutal crackdown from the theocratic regime.

The demonstrators are reportedly fighting back with determination rarely seen in Iran since the 1979 Islamist revolution, with reports of police stations and vehicles burned, police officers injured and killed, and even members of the regime’s thuggish Basij militia dying in scuffles with demonstrators.

22-year-old Mahsa Amini was arrested by the “morality police” last week, upon arriving in Tehran from Iran’s Kurdistan region, for allegedly violating hijab laws recently made even stricter by hardline President Ebrahim Raisi. Eyewitnesses said Amini was severely beaten while being taken to detention, where she lapsed into a coma and died last Friday.

Iranian officials claimed Amini died from a pre-existing medical condition and denied reports of her abuse, but those claims were challenged by eyewitness and medical testimony as the protest movement grew.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said on Wednesday that conservatives should oppose the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act (JCPA) because it will lead to more censorship.

“The Journalism Competition and Protection Act (JCPA) lets the media form a cartel to negotiate w/ big tech. Conservatives should oppose special treatment for favored industries, and a cartel will lead to more censorship. Republicans should vote NO on the JCPA,” Cotton said in a statement.

Data suggests prices at discount stores have risen while Americans grapple with inflation, even as President Joe Biden (D) tries keeping citizens from worrying about it.

At Dollar General, the data indicated costs have jumped nearly 24 percent, per Numerator. ALDI’s prices reportedly hit 17 percent, according to a CBS News article published Wednesday:

Leo Feler, chief economist at Numerator, which tracks hundreds of millions of shopping receipts, says food inflation is hitting lower income people disproportionately because higher income communities have more options.

“You can go from a Whole Foods to a Walmart, from a Walmart to a Dollar General,” Feler said. “Once you’re a low income consumer, you are already at the cheapest place that you can possibly buy food. And that just means that these stores have more pricing power.”

Gov. Gavin Newsom of California just signed into law new legislation allowing dead bodies throughout the state to be composted instead of buried or cremated.

Up until now, the Golden State, like most states and the rest of the world, only allowed for the burial or burning of deceased human remains. Now, there is the option of turning dead people into fertilizer for soil. (Related: The state of Washington legalized human composting back in 2019.)

Assembly Bill 351 explicitly allows for “natural organic reduction” (NOR), as they are calling it, beginning in 2027. Until then, dead bodies in California will still have to be either buried or cremated.

The NOR process involves putting human remains into a reusable container and surrounding it with wood chips, allowing it to aerate for microbial and bacterial growth. After about a month, all that is left is “soil.”

As usual, the excuse for needing to turn deceased humans into Soylent Green is that the planet, plagued by “warming,” we are told, is harmed by burial and cremation.

You have to admire their chutzpah when they portray the West as “a defender of democracy” in Ukraine!  Let’s never forget that the governments of the West are run by Klaws Swab puppets elected in rigged elections. They are waging a vicious war against their own populations, poisoning them, their families, their society and their livelihoods. Xelinsky has banned all opposition voices in the Ukraine  and threatened to jail anyone who votes in a democratic referendum over the future of the Donbas.

Iran, Russia and China will hold joint naval exercises in the northern Indian Ocean “this autumn,” Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

Other countries including Oman and Pakistan may also join the drills, Mehr cited Iranian Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri as saying, without giving further details.

The northern Indian Ocean extends to the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for the export of oil to world markets.

The three nations started joint exercises in December 2019, according to Iranian state media, to deal with unspecified “threats in the region.” China’s military spokesman at the time described the exercises as a “normal military exchange.” The most recent round was in January.

Apart from the usual toll of White women (and this month one White man) killed by Black Significant Others, we note a new trend: whites killed while driving or riding in cars. Road rage appears to be factor. Traveling while White appears to be increasingly dangerous. Additionally, the Main Stream Media and law enforcement agencies are increasingly successful in suppressing the race of perps altogether. Email me here or VDARE.com here if you have tips.

But let the record show there were another two police officers killed this month. It remains a tough, if increasingly politicized, job.

Current and former FBI agents have come forward saying the Biden administration is deliberately exaggerating the danger posed by white supremacists. They claimed that high-ranking FBI officials were pressuring field agents to fabricate domestic terrorism cases and label people as white supremacists in order to “meet internal metrics.”

“The demand for white supremacy” coming from FBI brass “vastly outstrips the supply of white supremacy,” one agent told the Washington Times. “We have more people assigned to investigate white supremacists than we can actually find.”

The FBI agent, who requested anonymity in order to discuss internal bureau politics, said that top officials in the FBI “have already determined that white supremacy is a problem” and established a policy to prioritize investigations into racially-motivated domestic extremism.

“We are sort of the lapdogs as the actual agents doing these sorts of investigations, trying to find a crime to fit otherwise First Amendment-protected activities,” he said. “If they have a Gadsden flag and they own guns and they are mean at school board meetings, that’s probably a domestic terrorist.”

Against a sinister, hellfire-and-brimstone background, outside Independence Hall, Philadelphia, flagged by Damien’s own foot soldiers—President Joe Biden convened to convulse against MAGA America in the tradition of Linda Blair of “The Exorcist” fame.

An inartful mouthful, perhaps, but so was Biden’s address.

The president of these disunited states has accused my fellow MAGA brothers and sister of constituting “a threat to [your] personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country. …Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic,” barked Biden.

“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election, and they’re working right now as I speak … to undermine democracy itself,” the addled-brained demon of a man added.

A man accused of raping his teenage relative secured a sweetheart plea deal from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg — and then went on to allegedly sexually terrorize five people in the Bronx just a month later, The Post has learned.

Justin Washington, 25, was promised a plum 30-day jail sentence, along with five years of probation, after he agreed in August to plead down to a charge of coercion in his Manhattan rape case.

But just a week before he was set to be sentenced Wednesday, Washington allegedly went on a sex-crime spree, attacking four women and a man near the homeless shelter where he was living in the Bronx.

After finding out about the Sept. 15 arrest, prosecutors with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said they were reconsidering the sentence recommended with the plea deal — which some cops said should never have been offered in the first place.

Justin Washington appears in manhattan criminal court on Wednesday afternoon for a hearing on charges related to sexual assault and burglary.

The defense ministries of both Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of violating a recent cease-fire on Friday.

Fighting between the neighboring countries, located between Turkey and Russia in the Caucasus, in early September left almost 200 soldiers dead.

Yerevan and Baku both said that the other had fired on their own military positions along the shared border.

A cease-fire to end the hostilities — the deadliest since a conflict in 2020 over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region — was brokered by Russia, a military ally of Armenia.

What did the two sides say?

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold talks on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, currently underway in New York.

A statement from the US State Department said that the meeting is a part of Washington's ongoing efforts to "maintain open lines of communication and manage competition responsibly."

Tensions between the two nations soared following a visit to Taiwan by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last month and President Joe Biden's explicit pledge to defend the self-ruled island that China claims as its territory.

Where does China stand?

Earlier this week, Biden had said that US forces would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion, irking Beijing.

China responded by saying that Washington should not send the "wrong signals" pertaining to Taiwanese "independence."

This week Wang also met former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger — the man known for being the architect of US relations with communist China.

Nuclear experts pondering the safest way to decommission the three crippled reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi atomic energy plant have devised a new plan to recover highly radioactive debris at the site, with even anti-nuclear campaigners giving the proposal their qualified support.

They warn, however, that the situation at the plant — on the northeast coast of Japan— remains precarious more than a decade since three of the six reactors suffered meltdowns after an offshore earthquake of magnitude 9 triggered a series of powerful tsunamis.

In their latest annual strategy report on progress at the plant, experts at the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Office (NDF) have proposed the construction and filling with water of a massive concrete tank to completely enclose one of the reactor buildings.

The water would act as a shield to prevent radiation from escaping into the surrounding environment and give engineers more space, in which to operate heavy equipment to dismantle and remove the outer shell of the reactor building.

Nepal has been battling a dengue outbreak, with the country recording over 17,500 infections and 21 related deaths in the past few months.

The surge in dengue case numbers comes just as the COVID health crisis in the Himalayan nation was subsiding, with daily new coronavirus infections dropping to below 500

According to the health ministry, dengue has been recorded in almost all of the country but experts say that most infections are going unreported and that the authorities can only record a small percentage of the total cases.

Sher Bahadur Pun, chief of the clinical research unit at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH) in Kathmandu, said that many patients don't visit health care centers to seek treatment as they consider the disease a seasonal viral infection and are aware that there is no specific treatment for dengue.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday signaled that there will be no change to the US policy of supporting Ukraine despite warnings from Russia that they could use nuclear weapons to defend Russian territory.

Speaking to the UN Security Council, Blinken said it was up to Putin to end the war and that the US would continue supporting Ukraine. “Because if Russia stops fighting, the war ends. If Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine ends,” he said.

“That’s why we will continue to support Ukraine as it defends itself, and strengthen its hand to achieve a diplomatic solution on just terms at a negotiating table,” Blinken added.

The US is locked in endless proxy war with Russia over Ukraine.

The US is locked in rapid escalation with China leading to possible war over Taiwan.

The US is locked in a collision course with Iran over their imaginary nuclear program that could blow up the Middle East.

I’ve not been as concerned about the world stumbling into nuclear war since the Cuban Missile Crisis, 60 years ago next month. A high school senior then, I worried about being denied a long life. Now, at 77, I fret more about my children and grandkids being denied that privilege.

US world dominance since collapse of the Soviet Union is over, but it doesn’t realize it. Like a wounded animal, the US is lashing out on 3 fronts, none of which may have an ending short of nuclear war, and none of which can resurrect American world dominance.

Once the US falls into to abyss of uncontrolled war, we will be no better off than Humpty Dumpty.

A new cache of leaked Labour documents shows how Israel lobby operatives worked against former leader Jeremy Corbyn from within the UK’s main opposition party.

Israel lobbyist Luke Akehurst intervened to help save suspended right-wing Labour activist Luke Stanger from expulsion – despite a series of complaints of harassment and intimidation.

The leaked files also detail how Palestine solidarity activists and left-wingers were investigated, suspended and expelled from the party, while right-wing pro-Israel members were protected by senior party figures.

The documents were revealed on Thursday in the first episode of The Labour Files, a new three-part series by Al Jazeera’s investigative unit – the same team behind the 2017 series The Lobby and the censored 2018 series The Lobby – USA.

The Qatar-based satellite channel describes the trove of internal Labour Party materials as “the largest leak of documents in British political history.”

Speaking to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Andrews said the international response to the crisis caused by the February 2021 coup had “failed” and that the Myanmar military was also committing war crimes and crimes against humanity, including sexual violence, torture, deliberate campaign against of civilians, and murder.

A U.S. intelligence agency gained access to China’s telecommunications network after hacking a university, Chinese state media claimed Thursday.

The U.S. National Security Agency used phishing — a hacking technique where a malicious link is included in an email — to gain access to the government funded Northwestern Polytechnical University, the Global Times alleged, citing an unnamed source.

American hackers stole “core technology data including key network equipment configuration, network management data, and core operational data,” and other files, according to the Global Times.

As part of the NSA’s hack, the agency infiltrated Chinese telecommunications operators so that the U.S. could “control the country’s infrastructure,” the Global Times alleged.

Uzbekistan's state prosecutors warned citizens against joining foreign armies after Russia offered fast-track citizenship to those who sign up and Ukraine said it had captured Uzbeks fighting alongside Russians.

Those fighting in military conflicts abroad faced criminal prosecution under Uzbek law, the Central Asian nation's Prosecutor General's office said in a statement late on Wednesday.

A video circulated in Ukrainian social media this month showed two Uzbeks captured in fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces; the detainees said they had been recruited in Moscow.

A Russian-led security bloc will hold military drills in Kazakhstan from Sept. 26 to Oct. 8, the Kazakh defence ministry said on Thursday, telling the public not to be surprised by the arrival of foreign troops and military vehicles.

Kazakhstan is a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) which also includes Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as well as Russia.

The drills will take place at an unusually tense time for the bloc, with Russia involved in the Ukrainian conflict, Armenia unhappy with CSTO's refusal to back it in fresh clashes with Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in a fragile ceasefire after deadly fighting in a disputed border area.

Kazakhstan turned to the CSTO in January when the bloc's troops came in to protect strategic locations during violent unrest and an attempted coup.
