Thought for the day

It’s Black Fly Day. I have never been to Black Fly Day. I am not in the habit of going out in search of what I don’t want or need… on sale… for half the value at twice the price. I remember The Great Toilet Paper Panic of 2020. I missed that too because I’ve got a perpetually self-actualizing bidet in my mind, which is out in front of everything hidden behind. It’s possible to immolate your waste products prior to disposal. I’m not suggesting I can do this. I am only speaking of what is possible; just like dining on Prana and Sunlight. I burn garbage day and night through the agency of Kundalini.

These are things to shoot for, without intending them as results, in… other… words… they come with the territory. We are in a constant state of evolution on every level of being unless… we work contrary to it or hinder the process. As soon as you stop fiddling with the works it takes care of itself… like heartbeats… like breathing… like everything else that was working well, before… you… screwed… it… up. I know a lot about this cause… I screwed up a lot. I have valuable life experience!

The UK Defence Ministry has confirmed that Britain is supplying Ukraine with modern laser-guided Brimstone 2 missiles, shrugging off Moscow’s repeated warnings about the risk of triggering a direct conflict between NATO and Russia.

The ministry posted a video clip on Twitter on Sunday, showing at least one pallet of the high-precision missiles being delivered from the Royal Air Force Brize Norton base in Oxfordshire to an undisclosed airfield. The missiles were part of a UK “aid package” for Ukraine, the ministry said, confirming earlier media reports of such deliveries taking place for some time.

“This aid has played a crucial role in stalling Russian advancements,” the ministry claimed in its tweet.

The United States government has sent billions of dollars to Ukraine to aid in the military situation.

This includes money, weapons, and more. While all of this money goes to Ukraine, Americans continue to struggle. Finally, Republicans are going to put a stop to the reckless spending in Congress.

The Gateway Pundit reports, “Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who kicked off the presser, highlighted how the money spent on Ukraine could have helped to address the influx of Fentanyl into the United States by Mexican drug cartels, but acknowledged the fact that the Democrats were shamelessly parading around wounded Ukrainian soldiers around the United States Capitol, but wondered why they weren’t doing the same for families who had lost loved ones due to the Fentanyl epidemic.”

Not only will Congress stop sending massive amounts of money to Ukraine, but they are also determined to find out where all of the money has gone.

Attorney General Merrick Garland’s pick for the role is Jack Smith, a registered independent and a veteran federal prosecutor who most recently served as the chief prosecutor of the special court in The Hague.

Coming days after Trump officially declared his 2024 presidential candidacy, the appointment put Smith in charge of two investigations: one involving Trump’s handling of classified materials in Mar-a-Lago, and another on the alleged interference of the transition of power following the 2020 presidential election and the certification of electoral votes.

OCLA Executive Director Joseph Hickey has filed jurisdictional arguments in his appeal to the Social Security Tribunal of Canada (SST) against the federal government’s decision to deny him Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.

Hickey’s submissions to the SST, dated Nov. 24, 2022, can be read here:

Hickey was employed as a Data Scientist at the Bank of Canada and was placed on unpaid leave in November 2021 for refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. The Bank of Canada is a Crown corporation subject to the federal government’s vaccination mandate. (Hickey and the Bank have since mutually agreed to resolve all outstanding issues.)

The Heartbeat Law states that an abortion is illegal after a heartbeat is picked up.

In one Georgia county, a left-wing judge overturned the bill. However, now it’s back, and liberals are pissed.

Reuters points out, “Georgia passed the law, which also defines “person” to include an “unborn child,” in 2019. A federal judge blocked it that October before it could take effect, finding it violated the right to abortion established by the U.S. Supreme Court in its 1973 landmark Roe v. Wade ruling.”

Bloomberg reports that Ghana, Africa’s second-largest gold producer, ordered large mining companies to sell 20% of the metal they refine to the nation’s central bank, as the government embarks on a plan to barter bullion for fuel.- Source

Reuters adds: If implemented as planned for the first quarter of 2023, the new policy "will fundamentally change our balance of payments and significantly reduce the persistent depreciation of our currency," Vice President Bawumia said. "The barter of gold for oil represents a major structural change," he added.

This comes at a time when debt ridden Ghana is struggling to make payments and is in the middle of a renegotiation with the IMF to those ends. Here are some thoughts on The Ghana Gold announcement. Why it is good for Gold, what some bears are saying, and one risk worth noting.

The blowing up of Nord Stream (NS) and Nord Stream 2 (NS2) – everybody knows who did it, but the suspect cannot be named – took to the next level the two-pronged imperial project of cutting off cheap Russian energy from Europe and destroying the German economy.

From the imperial perspective, the ideal subplot is the emergence of a US-controlled Intermarium – from the Baltic and the Adriatic to the Black Sea – led by Poland, exercising some sort of new hegemony in Europe, on the heels of the Three Seas Initiative.

But as it stands, that remains a wet dream.

The current size of the British Army is only sufficient if its goal is to “stay at home and tootle around,” Britain’s Defense Secretary Ben Wallace warned on Thursday.

Speaking to The Times newspaper following a meeting in Oslo with Allied counterparts on-board the HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier, the U.K. defense minister urged for the country’s defense to be properly funded amid concerns of future cutbacks of personnel.

“If we just want to stay at home and do a bit of tootling around, we’ve got an armed forces big enough,” Wallace told the newspaper, explaining that Britain’s “international alliance of 30 people,” otherwise known as NATO, continued to act as Britain’s military deterrent.

Turkey has reportedly laid out its conditions for refraining from a ground offensive against the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria, Kurdish media reported.

According to local sources, the Turkish bombardment – although ongoing – has decreased significantly as of the last few days. The sources added that this is due to the current US mediation between Turkey and the Kurdish militant group. "Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar received the US ambassador, Jeffry L. Flake, at the ministry’s headquarters in Ankara," the Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement on 24 November, without further clarification.

Prominent Democrats, including President Joe Biden, have repeatedly expressed interest in reinstating a federal assault weapons ban.

Biden himself included an assault weapon ban in his 1994 crime bill, which lasted ten years until its expiration in 2004.

Biden has claimed that the ban did its job and reduced mass shootings:

“When we passed the assault weapons ban, mass shootings went down. When the law expired, mass shootings tripled.”

But a detailed review of the data demonstrates that the ban had no real benefits whatsoever, and neither did it lessen the frequency of major shootings.

What Is an Assault Weapon?

Contrary to popular belief, an assault weapons ban does not ban AR- or AK-style rifles. Assault weapons bans focus primarily on the specific functions of these rifles. The 1994 ban described assault weapons as semiautomatic rifles that

had the ability to accept a detachable magazine and possessed two of the following five features: (1) a folding or telescopic stock; (2) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; (3) a bayonet mount; (4) a flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; or (5) a grenade launcher.

This definition permits some adjustments to be made to rifles, such as an AR-15, that would make them completely legal (or “compliant”). Rifles that comply must have a fixed stock. Stocks cannot be telescopic or folding. A pistol grip is incompatible with a compliant rifle. Compliant rifles typically have a stock that has additional material added to it, so the pistol grip is attached to the stock or is extended far enough to prevent the shooter from wrapping around it with their thumb. The maximum number of rounds the rifle’s magazine can hold is 10. Any more than that is regarded as a high-capacity magazine. The rifle may not have a flash suppressor.

Many creative minds have discovered countless ways to transform basic AR-style rifles into completely compliant weapons. Today, several states have their own assault weapons bans with similar or identical provisions as the 1994 federal ban. In these states, the ownership of AR-15s and such is not at all uncommon. The same went for gun owners during the federal ban from 1994–2004.

The reality of compliant assault weapons is a strong indicator that the assault weapons ban did not work, outside of some inconveniences for gun owners. Any owner could easily convert a compliant rifle into a fully functional (and illegal) one using minimal tools and labor. And many, including mass shooters, take advantage of this. The 1994 ban led to a sharp increase in the demand for assault weapons, which initially increased prices. But after an increase in production, prices began to fall to their previous state. A 2002 study showed:

In the short-term, the federal AW ban reduced the availability of AWs to criminal users by increasing the cost of these weapons in primary and, presumably, secondary markets. However, the ban also stimulated production increases for AWs and legal substitute models, resulting in a post-ban decline in prices.

Zelensky's decree on mobilization does not apply to Ukraine's western regions. For example, only 40 men were called up in Ivano-Frankivsk, and 30 — in Lviv.

It is mainly Russian-speaking citizens that go to the front as a result of the total mobilization in south-eastern Ukraine. Kyiv considers them to be potentially dangerous thus tries to destroy them in the hostilities, the source told the news agency.

On November 16, the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) extended martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for 90 days, until February 19, 2023.

Anna Malyar, deputy head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, said that the authorities of the republic did not plan to conduct a new wave of mobilization, since "there is no need for new soldiers, and the situation at the front remains stable." She did not rule out that the Armed Forces of Ukraine may need more people in the future.

On November 17, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were planning to mobilize citizens of military age in Kherson and on the right bank of the Dnieper.
