Canada Border Officers Vote To Strike, Warn Of Supply Chain Disruption

Thousands of Canada Border Services Agency personnel have overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike – something that could throw a wrench into port, cross-border trucking, airfreight and international parcel operations.

The strike could happen as early as Aug. 6, the Public Service Alliance of Canada and its Customs and Immigration Union said on Tuesday. The union represents some 8,500 CBSA employees, including officers serving at ports of entry across the country.

The threat of a strike comes as Canada prepares to reopen its land border to nonessential travel for the first time since March 2020. The timing wasn’t lost on the union, which warned that a strike could lead to “significant disruption to the flow of goods.”

The impacts could bring delays to commercial vehicle traffic and impact parcel deliveries and duties collection, the union said.

Ancient Romanian gold mine awarded UNESCO world heritage status, complicating ongoing legal battle with Canadian company

The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has awarded Romania’s Rosia Montana gold mine world heritage status. However, the move may complicate an ongoing lawsuit with a Canadian company.

During the latest session of the UN body’s World Heritage Committee, the Rosia Montana mine was awarded the special UNESCO status because of its historical significance, dating back to the second century.

According to the International Council on Monuments and Sites, the historical mine “contains the most significant, extensive and technically diverse underground Roman gold mining complex currently known in the world.”

Romania’s president, Klaus Iohannis, praised UNESCO’s listing of the site in a Facebook post on Tuesday, and proposed that Rosia Montana “should become a model for enhancing the value of heritage through the sustainable development of the area.”

‘I had never seen deaths happen so quickly’: Quebec nursing home gave COVID patients morphine instead of virus treatments

A Quebec nurse has testified that in accordance with provincial health department directives, her long-term care home administered morphine to coronavirus patients instead of caring for them to prolong their lives.

“I had never seen deaths happen so quickly,” Sylvie Morin told the Globe and Mail. Morin was an assistant chief nurse at Sainte-Dorothée, a long-term care (LTC) home where more than 100 residents died last year during the “first wave” of COVID-19.

She explained that the nursing home staff were instructed to give the residents thought to have COVID-19 a “respiratory distress protocol” that included morphine, the sedative Ativan, and the anti-nausea drug scopolamine. The Mayo Clinic notes that common side effects of injected morphine are “difficult or troubled breathing,” “irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing,” “shortness of breath,” and “very slow breathing.”

As a Parent, The Speed That Western Society And Culture Is Descending Into Hysterical Self-Hatred Makes Me Worry For My Children

These pressures manifest as a cultural self-hate which (amazingly) enjoys unanimous support from the American state, the education system, the media and global big business. Thus, we have the riots and statue removals related to Black Lives Matter, a somehow global movement based on events from a specific corner of one nation. -- Not satisfied with just that, we now have critical race theory (CRT) being implemented in many American schools, where it seems they will raise their children to celebrate an endemic, incurable guilt. Educating on a basis of blame or penance cannot be a good thing, for anyone.

Ontario's Grade 9 Will Be Taught That "Mathematics Has Been Used To Normalize Racism"

It looks like the post-modern lot has finally reached what many would think to be a sacred science that usurps the boundaries of racism, equality or wokeness: mathematics.

In Ontario, students in Grade 9 are now being taught about the "subjective" nature of math, including the historical use of math to "normalize racism", according to the Toronto Sun.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced last year that changes in Ontario's curriculum are inclusive of a ‘subjective’ and ‘decolonial’ approach to mathematics, the report says.

The Ontario Ministry's website says "an equitable mathematics curriculum recognizes that mathematics can be subjective". The post goes on to state:

"Mathematics is often positioned as an objective and pure discipline. However, the content and the context in which it is taught, the mathematicians who are celebrated, and the importance that is placed upon mathematics by society are subjective."

Webmaster's Commentary:

It almost seems like they are saying math is racist because certain races are simply better at it!

Canadian Doctor: 62% of Patients Vaccinated for COVID Have Permanent Heart Damage

We have previously covered the story of Dr. Charles Hoffe, the brave doctor who has been practicing medicine for 28 years in the small, rural town of Lytton in British Columbia, Canada.

After he had administered about 900 doses of the Moderna experimental mRNA COVID-19 injections, he sounded the alarm over the severe reactions he was observing in his patients who chose to get the shot (he chose NOT to get it himself), which included death.

The result of him sounding the alarm was a gag order issued against him by the medical authorities in his community. He defied this gag order and was interviewed by Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson on her show where he sounded the alarm. Canada is turning into a “COVID Police State,” warns constitutional lawyer

Canadian constitutional lawyer and president of the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms John Carpay is warning the public that Canada is at risk of becoming a totalitarian COVID police state.

In a video he released in early May titled “Canada: The COVID Police State,” Carpay warned about how the Canadian government is turning into a police state. It is doing this through the accumulation of more and more power for itself under the pretext of keeping society safe from the coronavirus.

“Very basic, fundamental freedoms have been taken away from us,” said Carpay.

Media is FINALLY covering immense crimes against indigenous peoples in Canada that were known about DECADES ago. So why now?

The reprehensible issue of what many deem “mass murder” of indigenous children in Canada’s Catholic school system has been in global headlines in recent weeks. But this should have been in the headlines decades ago.

The nearly 1,000 bodies of indigenous children in mass graves were recently found by ground-penetrating radar, said the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous First Nations (FSIN) and the Cowessess First Nation.

A reported 150,000 indigenous children were abducted and imprisoned in the Catholic schools, where they were tortured with the intent of erasing their culture and language, as were also sexually abused, had needles driven through their tongues for speaking their own language, were sterilized, among many other horrific practices.

Canadian Government apologises after encouraging public to snitch on unvaccinated family members so they can be identified

The British Columbia government has apologised after asking Canadians to snitch on their unvaccinated family members.

On Thursday, an official BC government Twitter account called on residents to tag their unvaccinated friends or family members in the replies. The tweet has since been deleted.

“Thank you! Next, let’s get to 80%! Tag a friend or family member who still needs their first dose and help them register here: gov.bc.ca/GetVaccinated,” read the tweet.

Despite the tweet’s deletion, an unknown number of people were publicly outed as unvaccinated in the replies.

According to Black Press Media, the BC government apologised for the incident saying that they will work to “ensure this does not happen again.”

Canadian First Nation Uncovers 182 Graves at Another Former Forced Assimilation School

The Lower Kootenay Band said on Wednesday that they have located the remains of 182 individuals at the site of a former Canadian forced assimilation school.

"In the ground search conducted by the community of Aqam, the findings revealed 182 human remains in unmarked graves", the Lower Kootenay Band said in a statement.
The remains were located at the site of the former St. Eugene’s Mission School in Cranbrook, British Columbia, which was operated by the Roman Catholic Church between 1912 and the 1970s, the statement said.

The discovery was made just a week after the Cowessess First Nation the Canadian province of Saskatchewan located 751 unmarked graves on the site of a former residential school. Prior to that, Tk'emlups te Secwepemc First Nation announced that a deep scan of the Kamloops Indian Residential School site with ground-penetrating radar confirmed the discovery of 215 children’s remains, with some of the deceased being as young as three years old.

Canada Health Chief: ‘Covid’ Lockdowns Are Actually For Preventing Spread of ‘False Information’

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Robert Strang admitted during a COVID-19 hearing last month that the primary goal of Canada’s strict lockdowns was not to protect public health, but to prevent the free flow of information.

When a citizen asked Strang via phone call whether Canada’s injunction banning public gatherings was still necessary, Strang explained the real reason lockdowns were still in place.

“I think it’s still there. We still have — bringing large numbers of people together can present some risk. We’ll continue to look at that,” Strang said.

“But I think the other purpose of the injunction is to prevent groups that are deliberately spreading false information that creates risk,” he added.

Canada: Liberals Propose ‘Hate Speech’ Bill with $50,000 Fine, 1 Year Jail

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government proposed legislation on Wednesday, Bill C-36, that is aimed at combating “hate speech” and “hate propaganda.”

Bill C-36 will “better protect Canadians from hate speech and online harms,” according to a news release from the federal government. The statement includes 33 mentions of the word “hate.”

The bill’s summary includes a proposed legal definition of “hatred” to be included in Canada’s Criminal Code. It defines “hatred” as “the emotion that involves detestation or vilification and that is stronger than dislike or disdain … For greater certainty, the communication of a statement does not incite or promote hatred, for the purposes of this section, solely because it discredits, humiliates, hurts or offends.”

The bill’s text does not specify if or how non-verbal messages such as images or videos would be regulated to control “hate.”

CBC Turns Off Facebook Comments To Protect "Fragile" Journalists' Mental Health And "Protect Free Speech"

In a move that can only be described as the pinnacle of embracing snowflake culture, the CBC has said this week it is going to close comments on all of its news links and video posts to Facebook pages to protect the mental health of its journalists.

Journalists - who used to be rugged and used to deal with varying opinions as part of the job description - are "fragile" and "in need of attention", like many other Canadians post-pandemic, the CBC wrote last week. Increasingly, they are facing "vitriol and harassment" for doing their jobs, the report notes.

"For journalists, platforms like Twitter can be a great way to find sources and promote their work, but also a cesspool of hatred. Increasingly, reporters are also physically attacked," Andre Picard told CBC.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Canada rejects 300,000 doses of the J.&J. vaccine made in the U.S. because of contamination issues.

Canada’s health products regulator has rejected the country’s first and only shipment of Johnson & Johnson’s Covid vaccine because of contamination issues at the U.S. plant that produced it.

The 300,000 doses had been held in storage since April to allow Health Canada to conduct a safety review. The regulator, in a statement issued on Friday evening, said that Emergent BioSolutions had made those doses at the same time as other batches of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that were found to be contaminated with the harmless virus used to manufacture the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Health Canada said its review was unable to determine that the vaccines sent to Canada met “the department’s rigorous quality standards.” The regulator also said that it would not approve the use of any vaccines or vaccine ingredients made at the factory until it sends inspectors there, most likely in the summer.

Keystone XL Oil Project Abandoned by Developer

Canada’s TC Energy Corp. and the Albertan provincial government said Wednesday they would scuttle the Keystone XL oil pipeline project, bringing to an end a yearslong controversy over an effort to pipe more Canadian crude to the U.S.

The decision had been expected after President Biden used his first day in office to revoke a key permit for the pipeline to cross the country’s northern border, shutting down construction.

It marks a historic victory for environmentalists who for a decade have made Keystone XL the focus of a campaign to block new pipeline construction as a way to limit oil consumption that contributes to global warming.

WATCH: Angry demonstrators in Canada behead statue of Egerton Ryerson, architect of controversial abuse-prone school system

Protesters have toppled and beheaded a statue of Egerton Ryerson, an architect of Canada’s infamous residential school system for indigenous children, amid growing anger over the recent discovery of mass graves at one such school.

The incident occurred on Sunday following a rally held at Ryerson University in downtown Toronto. The demonstration was held in response to last month’s announcement by the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation about the potential unearthing of the remains of some 215 children buried on the site of a former residential school in the British Columbia province.

According to a statement by the university, more than 1,000 people had participated in the nearly four-hour protest and march. While no incidents were reported during the event, a “truck arrived” about “an hour” after the protesters left and “proceeded to pull down the statue.”

Canada school deaths: Indigenous leaders dismayed at Pope’s lack of apology

Indigenous leaders and school survivors in Canada have dismissed Pope Francis’ expression of sorrow—and not an apology—for the gruesome discovery of a mass grave containing the remains of 215 children at a former Catholic residential school.

Delivering his Sunday blessing in St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis expressed his sadness about the discovery at the former boarding school for indigenous Canadians and called for respect for the native peoples’ rights. However, the Pope did not offer an apology.

The indigenous community in Canada has demanded an apology from the Pope for the incident as the residential schools were mostly run by the Catholic Church on behalf of the government.

Bobby Cameron, chief of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations in Saskatchewan, rebuked the Pope and said, “How hard is it for the Pope to say: I'm very sorry for the way our organization treated the First Nations people, the First Nations students during those times, we are sorry, we pray.”

Russia Hits Canada With Mirroring Sanctions: 9 Officials Barred From Country Indefinitely

Russia has hit back at Canada after March 24 sanctions which saw nine Russian officials banned from Canada over "gross and systematic violations of human rights in Russia" related to the Alexey Navalny saga.

At that time senior Russian officials had been accused over "the attempted murder" of Navalny last August, which saw the anti-Putin activist hospitalized in Berlin. Moscow had vowed it would prepare retaliatory sanctions in return, and that moment has come Monday, with the foreign ministry announcing a ban on precisely nine Canadian citizens from indefinitely entering its territory.

Canada has been among multiple countries, including the US and EU, to level sanctions on Moscow in relation to Navalny, who since his return from Germany to Moscow has been serving a couple year stint at a prison outside the Russian capital stemming from a prior embezzlement case.

CPSO to Ontario Doctors: “Shut Up or Lose Your Licence”

On April 30, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) announced explicitly a controversial policy that many Ontario doctors had intuitively feared it would adopt. Its Twitter feed, @cpso_ca, contained the framed statement shown below.

CPSO commands Ontario’s doctors not to make any statements that might be considered anti-vaccine, anti-masking, anti-distancing, or anti-lockdown. It forbids them to promote “unsupported, unproven” treatments for COVID-19. (Unproven by what standards? CPSO doesn’t say.) Doctors are further forbidden to make comments that might encourage people to act contrary to public health orders.

Finally, there’s a naked threat: say the wrong thing and you’ll face “disciplinary action”. This translates into, “We’ll suspend your licence, cut off your income stream and impoverish you.”

This is a horrifying statement from both a medical and a legal perspective.

Muslim family killed in a planned hate crime in Canada

A 20 year old Canadian driver ploughed a pickup truck into a Muslim family of five, killing four and seriously injuring the fifth in an attack in the Ontario city of London which has been described as “hate crime” by the Canadian police.

Police later arrested the young driver, Nathaniel Veltman 20, in the parking lot of a nearby mall. In the attack, his truck mounted a kerb and struck and ran over the victims at an intersection.

“This was an act of mass murder perpetuated against Muslims,” London Mayor Ed Holder told the media.

“It was rooted in unspeakable hatred. The magnitude of such hatred can make one question who we were as a city.”

Canada launches “Vaccine Injury Support Program” after granting Big Pharma total immunity from covid vaccine lawsuits

After granting pharmaceutical companies total immunity from all lawsuits involving injury or death caused by Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines,” Canada decided to launch a new “Vaccine Injury Support Program” (VISP) to provide compensation for those who experience “a serious and permanent injury” resulting from an injection.

The first ever program of its kind in Canada, VISP was launched back in December 2020 right around the time when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave the green light for mass administration of Wuhan Flu shots. Theresa Tam, Canada’s Chief Medical Officer, unveiled the program in a tweet.

On the VISP website, it is explained that the program will “ensure that all people in Canada who have experienced a serious and permanent injury as a result of receiving a Health Canada authorized vaccine, administered in Canada on or after December 8, 2020, have fair and timely access to financial support.”

Space junk hit the International Space Station, damaging a robotic arm

(CNN)A robotic arm located outside of the International Space Station has been hit by orbital debris, but it's still functioning.

The impact to Canadarm2, first noticed by NASA and the Canadian Space Agency during a routine inspection on May 12, punched a hole in the arm boom and its thermal blanket.

"Despite the impact, results of the ongoing analysis indicate that the arm's performance remains unaffected," according to a release by the Canadian Space Agency.

While the exact object responsible for this damage is unknown, the space station is at risk of impact from objects too small to be tracked as it orbits the Earth from 220 nautical miles away. These tiny objects could be pieces of rock, micrometeorites, dust particles or even flecks of paint that chip off of satellites.

About 23,000 objects about the size of a softball or larger are constantly tracked by space agencies to ensure that they don't collide with satellites or the space station.

Canada: Remains of 215 children found at Indigenous residential school

A mass grave containing the remains of 215 Indigenous children has been discovered on the grounds of a former residential school in the interior of southern British Columbia in Canada.

The grim discovery at the former school near the town of Kamloops was announced late on Thursday by the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc people after the site was examined by a team using ground-penetrating radar.

“We had a knowing in our community that we were able to verify. To our knowledge, these missing children are undocumented deaths,” said Rosanne Casimir, chief of the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc, in a statement.

Some of the remains belong to children as young as three years old, but the causes and timing of their deaths are not yet known. “At this time we have more questions than answers,” said Ms Casimir.

The Kamloops Indian residential school was established in 1890 under the leadership of the Roman Catholic church, and closed in 1978.

Canadian children’s group warns of massive increase in youth suicide attempts related to COVID lockdowns

A prominent Canadian hospital and kids’ group have said an “emergency response” is needed from the premiers of provinces to deal with the rapid decline of kids' mental health, which the organizations say has taken a drastic turn for the worse due to COVID-19 lockdowns.

“We’re calling for an urgent meeting of Canada’s First Ministers to take immediate action to address this crisis facing the 8 million kids in our country,” reads a press release published last week by the Children First Canada group .

“Across Canada, COVID-19 has led to devastating effects on the mental and physical health of kids. School closures, the lack of access to sports and recreational programs, and social isolation have led to devasting effects on the health and well-being of kids. The urgency to support children and youth has never been greater. Children First Canada and its partners are declaring #codePINK – a term used for pediatric emergencies.”

Greyhound Canada shutting down all bus service permanently

Greyhound Canada is shutting down all of its remaining bus routes in Canada, permanently.

The bus company says all of its remaining routes will cease operations as of midnight Thursday.

The iconic bus carrier pulled out of Western Canada in 2018.

It then put its remaining routes in Ontario and Quebec on pause when COVID-19 hit in 2020, but now it is pulling out of domestic Canadian service permanently.

"A full year without revenue has unfortunately made it impossible to continue operations," spokesperson Stuart Kendrick said. "We deeply regret the impact this has on our staff and our customers, as well as the communities we have had the privilege of serving for many years."

Greyhound Canada has been in operation in one form or another for more than a century. The company says anyone with a ticket booked can get a refund up until the end of June.

Patients died from neglect, not COVID-19, in Ontario LTC homes, military report finds: ‘All they needed was water and a wipe down’

Dozens of residents in two Ontario nursing homes hit hard by the coronavirus died not from COVID-19 but from dehydration and neglect, the Canadian military says in reports obtained by The Globe and Mail.

The documents contain new details about the deplorable conditions in two Toronto homes before the Forces stepped in last year, revealing for the first time that causes other than COVID-19 hastened the deaths of residents as outbreaks spiralled out of control and staffing collapsed.

At Downsview Long Term Care Centre, where one in four residents succumbed to the virus, another 26 died from dehydration before a military team arrived last June to provide humanitarian and medical support.

At Hawthorne Place Care Centre, 51 residents died of COVID-19 in the 269-bed facility. The military says it suspects those fatalities pale in comparison to deaths from other causes. “Residents are dying from non-COVID-19 causes more than they should be.”

What happens when biology and digital technology merge?

Guided by its mandate, Policy Horizons Canada (Policy Horizons) intends to start an informed and meaningful dialogue about plausible futures for biodigital convergence and the policy questions that may arise. In this initial paper, we define and explore biodigital convergence – why it is important to explore now, its characteristics, what new capabilities could arise from it, and some initial policy implications. We want to engage with a broad spectrum of partners and stakeholders on what our biodigital future might look like, how this convergence might affect sectors and industries, and how our relationships with technology, nature, and even life itself could evolve.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) Forbids Physicians from Questioning Official Covid-19 Measures

We are a broad and diverse group of Canadian physicians from across Canada who are sending out this urgent declaration to the Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons of our various Provinces and Territories and to the Public at large, whom we serve.

On April 30, 2021, Ontario’s physician licensing body, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), issued a statement forbidding physicians from questioning or debating any or all of the official measures imposed in response to COVID-19. 1

The CPSO then went on to threaten physicians with punishment – investigations and disciplinary action.

We regard this recent statement of the CPSO to be unethical, anti-science and deeply disturbing.

As physicians, our primary duty of care is not to the CPSO or any other authority, but to our patients.

PROFESSOR SUSPENDED AFTER DENYING CANADA IS A RACIST COUNTY AND CRITICIZING BLM

Mount Allison University Professor Rima Azar feels a strong identification to Canada. Born in Lebanon during a civil war, Azar developed a lasting appreciation for the freedoms of Canada, particularly free speech. An accomplished academic in the field of health psychology, she often discusses her views of political and social issues on her personal blog Bambi’s Afkar from her unique perspective. However, she recently ran afoul of an individual who spotted comments denying that Canada is a racist country and criticizing Black Lives Matter as an organization. The individual compiled an array of what was viewed to be objectionable positions and triggered a movement to have Azar fired. In a direct attack on free speech and academic freedom, the University then suspended Azar without pay.

Antifa, other violent left-wing groups not considered for Canadian terror list

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Department of Public Safety appeared not to consider any left-wing protest groups when it released its annual list of banned terrorist groups, according to a new report.

The access to information request, submitted by True North to Minister Bill Blair's department, listed numerous Antifa-affiliated groups that are known to operate within Canada. Specifically, the request asked to see any “memos, briefing notes, policy briefs and other similar documents provided” to Blair's department.

“A thorough search was conducted and Public Safety Canada was unable to locate any records responding to your request,” the government replied.

EU Accepts US, Canada, Norway in Military Mobilization Project

The European Union (EU) on Thursday authorized the United States, Canada, and Norway to participate in the Permanent Structural Cooperation (PESCO), a project that seeks to streamline the cross-border mobilization of troops and military equipment by land, sea, and air.

Acceptance for the participation of these countries in this program was conditional on their acceptance of several conditions, including the exchange of military information with the EU.

PESCO was established in 2017 as the European response to then-President Donald Trump's threats to diminish U.S. cooperation in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

It also emerged as a mechanism to enhance the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) after the consummation of Brexit and in the face of "threats" that might arise from Russia's actions.

Canadian pastor says province makes application to ‘lock the doors’ of his church

A Canadian pastor who has kept his Ontario church open contrary to draconian COVID-19 health rules says his province’s Attorney General asked a judge for an “urgent hearing” to “lock the doors” to his place of worship, as a result of a recent Sunday service.

Pastor Henry Hildebrandt of the Church of God located in Aylmer, Ontario, announced the news in a YouTube message posted Wednesday.

In his message, Hildebrandt went over a letter dated April 27 from Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey’s office to the Honourable Mr. Justice Bruce G. Thomas, Regional Senior Justice of the Southwest Region in Ontario.

In the letter, Downey’s office asked the courts to close the Church of God doors because it has been violating the Ontario Reopening Act.

Canadian government accused of ‘assault’ on free speech over proposal to police videos posted on social media

Critics of Canada’s Liberal government are accusing it of mounting an ‘assault’ on free speech after it proposed modifications to a broadcasting law that would enable it to regulate user-generated video content on social media.

At the heart of the controversy is ‘Bill C-10’, an amendment to the Canadian Broadcasting Act (1991) that purports to give the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) oversight abilities over online streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon.

When the Trudeau government introduced the bill, it contained language exempting content created by individuals. But that clause was removed by a parliamentary committee during the bill’s final review stages on Friday, creating an avenue for the CRTC to treat YouTube videos and TikTok posts uploaded by Canadian users as ‘programs’ – the same way it does broadcast networks.
